83 I Need A Drink?

"I need a drink?" I asked,

The knights looked at me empty.

"This can't be happening; you don't want to be here. I can't keep you here."

Out of nowhere, a gla.s.s of wine appeared in my hand, only it wasn't wine. It was blood and pixy dust. A power booster I had concocted for an emergency.

I gulp it down before sinking back into the chair. I could see the looks of distaste on the Knights face but still continued to drown the drink. They didn't like me drinking. But I wasn't here to please them and my mind was processing the events. One thing for sure is my aunts knew this was going to happen. It was fated.

Instantly, I felt better. The lady knew and she accepted it that explained her color. Gathering my wit together I place down my gla.s.s and pick up my phone. It would seem I need to check in with dear Ronnie and get whatever dirt Knight had so I could go after who did this.

"Lieutenant Adam speaking, how can I help you?" Ronnie's voice sounded hoa.r.s.e.

"Ronnie, it's GRAY. I have something on that case." I told her.

It was sort of the truth. Just not the whole truth. It's nothing that she would want to know. She wouldn't care about the ladies death.

"So you are going to tell me. Who is the killer? Why is he killing? Where can I find the two missing bodies? How can I catch him?" Ronnie asked angrily,

That was not what I was expecting

"Ronnie," I answered tiredly,

"YOU were hiding something. I knew it. Why on earth are you telling me about it, now? Earlier I asked and ask you didn't answer." complained Ronnie, "The boss had me helping out the traffic control."

"It just happened," I said cuttingly. "I wasn't keeping anything from you,"

"Get to it then,"

Her tone told me she didn't believe me but let it go. I really didn't keep it from her. I just didn't have anything solid. Feeling a little guilty, I knew I could have told her but it wasn't the time. I also realized that she wasn't interested in knowing the facts, not that she wasn't all that bright when it came to magic, she wasn't interested in the details, she just need what she needed to do her job.

Realizing that was a revelation. It made me wonder why I tolerate working with her. The girl sometimes was little too pushy for her own good, other times she was downright mean.

"It's just, I'm a witch and I was at a Wicca thing. I heard something there and it involves the case. So here I am telling you."

"What?" Ronnie asked sounding little happier than before.

Taking a deep breath in, I was about giving her interview with a witch. It wasn't a good idea but I think they expected it so it wasn't going to raise any alarms. At least that was what I thought of the situation and I need the extra hand to track the person behind this.

"I heard about someone being cursed by drinking some type of Asian tea. Afterward, they have fallen sick with the similar type of tattoos appearing."

"Go on, I'm listening,"

"Some say that it could be some kind of fungus. But from other that believe it is said the skin is essential," I said, "I think they whoever they are will go back for the skins. You need to check."

"That's all?" She said out harshly, "A maybe."

"No. They'll break in and the skins will disappear." I let out half the truth. After hearing the tone of her voice I wasn't going to give her the real truth, she wasn't ready. " They need it to do a cerimoney. It has a lot of power."

"d.a.m.n it, Gray! Tell me!" Ronnie said screaming.

"Listen, it's not as bad as you think. They'll be careful to not leave the skins around next time. It's just that valuable so you need to s.h.i.+ft focus." I said calmly.

"What else is going to happen? Is there going to be another body, here?"

I really didn't want to talk to her anymore. Ronnie was getting annoying. The question she was asking, she knew I couldn't answer. It was as if she thought I was involved.
