"You aren't listening to me. They will get stronger."
"No, it's something but you're not telling me." She screams out into my ear. I think I went deaf.
"I believe that if you revisit every one of your suspects you may catch the killer if he has the same symptoms as Jenny," I said trying to convince her. "I want you to find her. If I'm right she'd be screaming at the top of her lungs by the time you are there."
It wasn't what she wanted to hear but a spell that could take out the lady of the lake. Pushed back was going to leave a mark.
However, this was not the end. Ronnie will find more bodies. I knew that the mastermind had been meticulous with his plans and would not suffer. He had done well. The victims were all young vulnerable and in love. They were well selected and lured.
"Don't"
"I'm not doing anything!" I replied, feeling very fed up,
I was helping her. Doing my very best and I get yelled at, life really isn't fair. If it had been Diana one of her boys would surely deal with Ronnie and keep everything pleasant.
"Yes, you were bolting. Aren't you?"
Give me something to work with," Ronnie interrupted my thoughts, "All the suspect and witness have solid proof with time stamps."
"You aren't looking hard enough," I said tiredly raking my hand over my hair.
"For what exactly, a big sign saying I killed Jamey. It won't work like that even if they are c.o.c.ky and full of it." Ronnie's voice got even louder than before,
She must be at the end of her rope. But this was not the worst of it. In the end. There was nothing for her. The war had destroied everything. But this Ronnie was not that Ronnie yet and from what I am seeing, she probably won't be my bestfriend. Our path is drifting apart.
"Listen, look for recent vandalized places. Old cemeteries or other secluded places. Candles are the best tell for this type of thing. They will not clean that up and if they look hard enough, chalk and salt."
"Thanks,"
The line went dead again. Good, she at least said thank you. Taking a step back I glance at the Knights of the Round Table. They were spirits of brave warriors that that chose to serve the greater good. I, however, they seem to have thought was unworthy. It was true that I wasn't powerful or special or kind or beautiful.
Before I talk, Phi appeared. It would seem that the council who would send someone in to handle my duty and the will. They also warn me that the position as lady of the lake was no to be taken lightly, not that I was interested in it if I had a choice. Contrary to popular believe you don't really have a choice when it came to politics or rather I didn't have a choice when it came to politics.
It was how it happened. The council had all the power and everyone did what the council told them. It's the little thing like what color you wear is the choices you can make and not even then, most of us by according to fas.h.i.+on.
