"Sorry," I said as someone b.u.mps into me.
This time I caught on and try to hold on to the person for a better look. I may be foolish but I wasn't stupid. Sadly, I was too weak.
The dark figure wearing a white baseball cap walks away without another word. I looked and checked. No spell and nothing missing, it may just be coincident but I don't believe in coincident. This case really was getting to me or something like it.
A new text appears when I didn't answer fast enough. The buyer was giving me fifty thousand dollars in pearls to sweeten the deal. It'll make my day and help me with my grimoire that still a pipe dream at this point.
Pearls were always useful. They were my prime ingredient in my remember potion so it really sweetens the deal. Beth knew it too so she must really like this buyer.
Considering the economy, the qualities of items have been going downhill. Potions, in general, cost a lot more money even when most ingredients were common enough. I need those pearls. So I text her telling her I except the deal. And for her to keep selling, I needed more money.
Pa.s.sing the deli, I added to my list of to do things, grocery shopping. At this time in life I still hadn't set up my food supply and was still relying on grocery stores for food and supplies. I made a list of things I would stock up like root beer, instant cocoa, rice, fresh vegetables and gallons of milk. There was a food shortage right around the corner if I am not mistaken.
No more than six steps, my phone rang again. I knew who it was before I saw the ID as I set a different ringtone for her. Ronnie wanted her update.
"Hi, Ronnie I just finish talking to Knight. He was helpful. I need you to check up one of their employee Jenny 69, she may know who tattoo both of them."
"Okay, I'm onto her. She was the one who called it in, the butler." She shouted, "But that wasn't what I was calling to tell you."
"Yes?"
"We found another room on the fifth floor with another tattoo. I had to tell the commissioner that it was a cult thing and we are still searching." She said in a hurry as she always, "Check the ID on the girl and she worked for Rae White."
"Interesting," I said pausing for effect,
"There is more, the blood in the room was from like sixteen people that are alive well and know nothing. I wonder how someone got their blood." She added continuing the conversation, "But most of it is Jamey so we don't think he made it. This is strange enough but then it gets really strange the DNA on the condoms were dead cells we can't trace them back to anyone."
"I hate to say this but you should make the call, put Rae in witness protection. Call in the big guys. I'd be happy if you took me off this case. It's a bit over my weight cla.s.s Ronnie." I told her,
