"Thanks"
I must have sound dumb but you would be too. His body was absolutely perfect. I really wanted to touch him.
"GRAY, a consultant for the Police," Knight said as he took my hand.
"Thank you for meeting me,"I said putting in a little force,"you look like a really busy man. I will make it as short as possible."
"I believe you are here to question me about one of my girls, Sonia. It seems there was an incident?"
"Yes. Do you know why she got the tattoos? What does it mean?" I asked politely. "I also need to know what you know about Mr. Sinclair involvement with the pair, Sonia romantic life and Jamey's almost bride to be, please."
He wasn't expecting me to fight off his charm. People didn't know I was a witch. Most of the time it was safer that way but I was sure he was going to figure it out soon enough and it was something I prefer not to happen at all but I'm not that powerful.
My life would be a lot more complicated with him involved in the situation. Sadly, we can't always get what we want.
This was a dangerous case that you could not pay me enough money to get involved. Yet here I was involved. I really needed to do a mad dash, Get the council in as fast as I could this was the deadly black Cambodian magic. The price paid was lifeforce of normal humans.
I blink a little. Thinking deep. I was still without a plan.
For a moment he look so normal then the next thing I knew he growling. It would seem that I've been found out.
He was good. I smiled back at him and gave him my best innocent look. I did a spell placing bond lines on his wrist. I made him like me, a little magic never hurt now and then especially if they don't know it was done to them. It would seem that he was a bit more powerful than I expected to detect that little trick.
"You are a witch?" he asked sounding surprise.
"Yes."
"How can it be?"
"I was hoping you'd give me an answer not ask me questions," I said chuckling, looking him in the eye keep my tone of voice light and friendly. I didn't want to offend him.
"If I do answer them, I will need some answer in return. I have to admit you make me rather curious. A witch pretending to be human, working for the humans and look so very human." he said lazily stretching his legs out.
"If it's given freely no harm would come," I answer that was drill into me by my dear aunts with their diplomatic etiquette.
It was code for if I want to then yes I will answer but no more than what I received. After all, words had meaning promises were bind and spells were forever.
"I see."
He did see. Magic is complicated. Beings like trolls goblins and vampires can lie but for a supernatural being lying is the kiss of death. The words twist until magic cannot be used and power fades away.
I've seen it happen once or twice, not very pleasant. It all started from a small lie and then spiral down that was how it happened with mother. In the end, she was empty.
