It didn't even take an hour to fly from the Amelie's forest of Fidelia to the mansion of the Count. It was in a vague direction that is neither far nor near her home in the woods. But in no time, Soo-yeon had crossed the mansion's wall and arrived at the manor.

Count Delaheim said that even though the county was now more rural, in the past it was a thriving area. And if she remembered correctly, the Count's mansion was very large and antique. The backyard, especially, connected to the forest of Fidelia, boasted beautiful scenery as if covered with green carpets.

Amelie's only family is her Father, Count Delaheim, and her sister, Rene. It is said that the mother died in an accident during her childhood. The two of them had lived in the mansion of Delaheim.

Amelie also lived in the mansion when she was a child. However, when she had woken as a witch, she was sent to the forest of Fedelia to live with her grandmother. It was because Amelie was an idiot that she did not know how to control her power. When she left the mansion, Amelie then became a Bourbon, taking her mother's surname.

The twin sisters, Rene and Amelie, were quite different from each other.

Count and Rene continued to miss Amelie. After the grandmother witch died, the Count wanted to take Amelie back to the mansion, but Amelie refused. She wondered how could the old Amelie could be so stupid. It was not entirely idiotic, but should she a.s.sume its close to animal instincts to stay in the forest? ((Implying that witches are drawn to the woods…))

Anyway, it's such a family.

Amelly landed lightly in the yard. The travel bag hanging on the broom rumbled, making a sound. She looked around and saw no one in the yard. Only the Count's knights guarding the main gate were patrolling and were looking over the door where she stood.

‘Let's just say h.e.l.lo.'

After arranging her hem, she walked forward and knocked on the door.

Great.

Just as she knocked on the door, she heard a busy rus.h.i.+ng voice from inside and then the door opened.

“I'm sorry…..I'm sorry for being………. Late?”

Blonde hair with blue eyes, he was just like how Rene was depicted in the novel. He came out to greet Amelie.

He widened his eyes as much as he could.

“Oh,hey……”

Count Delaheim seemed strange. He was opening his mouth but not saying anything.

‘What is with this reaction? Is there something wrong with me? What are you looking at?'

For a short moment, worries started to flood her head and then she heard a voice that cleared them out.

“Father, he wouldn't have arrived yet…..uh? Amelie?”

It was Rene Delaheim in a bright green dress. Her bright blonde hair was as beautiful as it was described in the novel.

‘And the heroine too.'

Amelie admired Rene's appearance as the Count and Rene were very surprised.

She  looked at her. Rene had never imagined Amelie would come here on her own. Amelie cautiously looked at the eyes of the two.

“h.e.l.lo, I only came to greet you……”

“Oh my G.o.d! Our Amelie is greeting me……!”

Suddenly, there were tears in the count's eyes.

She became lost due to the tears of a middle-aged man.

“Amelie!”

The Count grabbed Amelie's shoulder.

“I'm so glad you came home….! You don't know how much I worry about leaving you alone in the forest after your grandmother pa.s.sed away!”

“No, I haven't come back…”

Amelie was hugged too tightly by the Count. She had never been treated this way by a father.

‘What am I supposed to do in this situation?'

She didn't even know what to say or do, so she could breathe. This time it was Rene who saved Amelie who was becoming pale.

“Father, you are suffocating her and you should give her a moment to speak.”

“Yes- You're right. I'm sorry. Amelie, I'm so happy to see you….!”

The Count's voice trembled with delight. His blue eyes were moist.

‘Is this a disgraceful act?'

Amelie rolled her eyes at the awkwardness.

In Rene's Recollection, The count was a dignified aristocrat. To love his daughters so much… she didn't know he was that type of character.

No matter how much unmemorable it was, it is too different!

“Come on, let's go in. Let's sit down and talk a little bit.”

The Count grabbed Amelie's hand and entered the house. Rene followed and took Amelie ‘s broom and bag and handed them over to the maid.

“Did you eat? It is almost time for lunch, and it's a good idea to have a meal together… The guest will be coming soon.”

“Guest?”

Amelie thought she heard about that. She remembered the Count's knight telling her that there was going to be something important in the house and that was why the Count and Rene could not come for a while to visit.

The Count and Rene were dressed up. Rene didn't usually wear makeup or ornaments regardless. Employees of the mansion were also wearing their finest clothes. There was tension on their faces, too. It was too much for her to greet the guests, and Amelie didn't feel good about it. It was going to be a ha.s.sle.

'I think I came at the wrong time.'

“Then I'll just…… go back and come later.”

Amelie tried to step back quickly. But the Count caught Amelie's two hands.

“It's okay, you do not have to worry about it. I'll be just hanging out in the room for a little while before they arrive. The guest will be here for only a day and you will not have to face them.”

Count was worried about Amelie leaving because of the guest.

“You came back home after 14 years. How could you leave just like that? Huh?”

The Count looked angrily at Amelie. Amelie shook her head a little. 'It has been 14 years and I'm going to go…'

“Who is your guest?”

“Well… I'm afraid… I don't think I should tell you….”

At that time, someone from outside shouted with a crazy blue face.

“His Majesty is pa.s.sing through the front gate!”

At that moment, the hall became still. Amelie doubted her hearing.

‘His Majesty?'

There is only one person who can be called that here. A man called the most brutal emperor in history.

[Serwyn Hennessy.]

The worst villain of this novel, the man who will kill Amelie a year later.

‘Why has the emperor come to the mansion, not the forest?!'

Amelie was in a panic. She left the forest only to escape the Emperor. This is ridiculous!

The first thing she noticed was the steward.

“Count! Lady Rene! Come on! Be in your positions!”

Employees began to line up in the hall. Due to the fact that the Emperor was coming, everyone had a face as if half of their souls were gone. The nervous servants had already heard the word ‘Emperor' and were already in a mild panic. Serwyn was that much notorious.

“Lady Amelie go out from that door! Hurry up!”

The steward, taking care of the servants, pointed to the small door near the back of the hall.

When Amelie left the mansion she had also taken her name off of the Count's family register.  Although she is in the mansion now, she is not here on paper. In short, it was an ambiguous position she had. It was a big deal for such for Amelie to stand in the hall and see the Emperor.

“Let's talk later. You came home after a long time, I'm sorry, my daughter, but if the emperor sees you, that'll be a big deal. It's not that we are ashamed of you…”

“I know. So go.”

Amelly cut off the Count. It was not the time to have a long talk, but the time to escape. Count took a glance at Amelie one more time, then moved hastily, and Rene moving beside him. Amelie ran toward the butler's pointed door. The front door started to open.

‘Quickly!'

Fortunately, Ashley was lucky to be quickly able to reach the golden door.

But when she grabbed the k.n.o.b and turned it, the door was locked.

'Well, I screwed up!'

Amelia looked around. There were a few pots, but they were too small for an adult woman to hide behind.

Even while she was looking for cover, the main door was gradually opening. Rising tension was felt in the hall. Slowly, the door was completely opened, and light poured from the outside, and the figure of the person began to be seen.

'What do I do? I have to hide somewhere…..!'

At the moment, a way appeared in Amelie's mind.

‘Yes! That's it!'

Amelie recited the incantation.

Poof!

And Amelie's appearance was gone. Instead, there was a small bird in her spot. It was a Robin with soft pink feathers and rounded, brownish eyes.

It was one of the magic spells that turned people into animals that she learned. Amelie was still young so she turned into a small animal, but it was the most helpful disguise at this moment.  Amelie flew into the air to hide behind the flowerpot.

‘Phew, I lived!'

Amelie, s.h.i.+elded behind the pots, stuck her head out. The door opened and a large man came into the mansion. It was a man who had a strange quick pace. His golden eyes scanned the hall. The golden color should have struck her as a sparking and beautiful, but Serwyn's eyes didn't. They looked so cold as if they had a metallic feel to them. Even though he had just arrived, the faces of people were already white.

“Count Delahime, a present, because I couldn't just come empty-handed.”

Serwyn threw what he was carrying.

Thud!

Through the pots she looked

Hair, eyes, nose, mouth. It was the head of a man. On the floor of the hall, red blood ran out on the white plaster that had been swept and polished.
