101 Planned Campaign

She blinked a little, and felt her cheeks redden. Kaldrek was just as fl.u.s.tered as she was, "Yes, well," He laughed softly, "Zylvia and I are both happy to be married. Even if we were practically forced into it."

Zylvia placed a hand on her husband's arm, smiling at him, "He was not quite dragged to the altar, though I doubt he would have minded all that much if he had been."

Queen Dawn smiled wryly, "Men are idiots are they not?"

Zylvia stared at her a trifle shocked.

"Arrion was not an idiot," Kaldrek chided the woman with a slight frown, "Sometimes did things no one else understood. But he always had a reason for it, normally a good one."

"I know," The queen said with a sigh, "He was infuriating, childish, sometimes enigmatic, but when all was said and done he was usually right. Biggest lax in judgement he ever made had to be marrying someone broken like me. Biggest mistake I ever made…"

"He just died," Jayesh sounded agitated, "Are you really going to drag his name instantly. He was a good man. One of the best I knew."

"I was going to say that I never cherished him like I should." She cleared her throat, "I mean he was the first person who ever gave me warmth."

Jayesh looked at her incredulously, "And, what? It took him dying for you to realize that? Arrion deserved better than that."

Zylvia saw something briefly cross the woman's face before she sighed, "He was the one who insisted I marry him. He knew that I was a closed book but he was still adamant. You can't always get exactly what you want in life. Enough, though. I think it would be far better to focus on the threat."

Jayesh nodded, "Of course."

Kaldrek showed the others what they had found and gave the area where this site was.

Queen Dawn nodded, "Alright, I say that the five kingdoms send out a group to deal with them. I would ask you to send some of your arcane users, Varenduil can supply some of their protecters and Amriel can supply knights. Jarenkul can do scouts. Lumna can send some of our priests."

Jayesh agreed without hesitation, "Of course, and I doubt any kingdom will have anything against it."

"I will be going with them," All of the people in the room stared at the golden haired queen. "What, they invaded my home. As such I need to teach them a lesson. Preferably b.l.o.o.d.y. It has been a while since I last hunted. Besides, I know Nix'Ryl. Or do you forget that I was born there?"

"Of course. I am sure that the group would be pleased for a native to join them." Jayesh said quietly.

Queen Dawn stood up to leave and then paused, "Thank you for your help today. I know I am not always the most… friendly of people, but I do know that if there is anyone I trust, other than Arrion, to have my back it is you."

After she left, silence fell for a minute. Then Jayesh spoke up, "You know, I think she is actually upset that her king died. Surprising really, I always thought she treated him as air."

"We only saw them when they visited. What they were like at home we can not know for sure." Kaldrek said softly, "I am sure she probably loved him in her own way."

Jayesh nodded and then sighed as he told Zylvia and his wife to go have fun as he prepared to help out with this campaign.

Zylvia walked her best friend out and took her to go get their hands busy. The rest of the day the men kept themselves locked away and Zylvia did not see her beloved husband again until bed.
