Chapter 2

It was chaotic and lasted less than an hour. This is the first stage for all the new players. Those who cannot accept it would be dead earlier than later.

Xia Mo saw the assembly square in the starter village and knew that it would be filled with many players soon. They would have many reactions to the contents of the game and then later, the village head would be filled with a lot of players to receive quests from him.

Should I just follow what I did in my last life and improved my strength through taking quests? Or should she just leave the starter village and improved from there?

Xia Mo pondered for a whole and chose the latter without hesitation.

Based on normal game play, it was true that she can be stronger faster but she had to complete quests in the village. The quests in the starter village were manual and mediocre such as finding some items or move around in the village to achieve the objective. Although the quests were easy to fulfil, she had to leave and enter the village multiple times.

DUST is different from the other games such that your life is at stake in the game. When you started the game, there would definitely be people better than you, and these stronger players would kill weaker players. This method of strengthening yourself not only waste a lot of time, you would have to be very careful of your own life. Even if she could be very careful and complete the quests, in the long term, she would not have any advantage.

In that case, why not raise one's strength in the wild? If she consciously avoids quarrels with other players, she would be able to rest and become stronger without interruption.

After making her choice, she left the starter village quickly and headed for a hill top. In DUST, each player has different attributes: Endurance, Stamina, Wisdom, Agility, Strength and also Savviness.

Endurance determined how much HP a player possessed.

Stamina determined how long you can be in a combat.

Wisdom, agility, strength would affect how your character developed.

Savviness would affect how fast you learn, and this was very important.

In DUST, there were no classes, or levels. All players would gain different attributes based on the progress of the game in terms of missions or encounters. And all these would determine how you developed your advantage in the game. The hardest attribute to gain would be Savviness. High Savviness would allow a player to learn stronger skills easier.

Everything in DUST looked exactly like the real world, therefore when the system scanned your body and brain, every player's attributes would be different. Although you could gain attributes in the game, but the starting attributes of each player would be different. Even though it would not matter in the late game, but in the early stage, players with a higher attribute would definitely gain an advantage.

This wold was never fair to begin with.

Xia Mo Attributes:

Endurance: 5

Wisdom: 1

Strength: 1

Savviness: 0

This were the current attributes determined by the system. Nothing stood out or looked poor. Just like any normal player. It looked like even though she had started her life again, there was no change or increase in her attributes.

Her previous life felt like a dream and she died in it.

Xia Mo ran quickly. But due to her low points in Agility, she was unable to run fast. But she still smiled. This was because she had a chance to start all over again, she did not want to live with regrets again, she must live till the end! For her parents, for herself, for revenge, she must stay alive! She must survive till the end!

DUST settings were set as Medieval Age, so everyone must use a weapon to defeat a monster or another player. For magic spells, this is very secretive. Based on her memory, she had not met anyone who can dealt massive damage based on magic. Of course, this might be due to the people she mixed with and her social circle. She remembered clearly that she was considered as the lowest rank in the game as a player in her previous life.

After running past a green pasture, Xia Mo stopped at the edge of a forest. She looked at a tree what was not too big and she fixed her sight on a tree branch. She needed the tree branch as a weapon!

Yes, in DUST, other than giving every player a set of clothes with almost no defense to cover up yourself, the game did not provide anything more. If the player wanted to battle, they must find their own weapon. In the early game, the tree branch was one of the cheapest and easiest to use weapon.

To learn how to fight with a tree branch required time to practice. Xia Mo used to take a whole day to practice using it. Currently, she was able to distinguish which tree branch was suitable for her.

After confirming which tree branch she wanted, she started to take a deep breath and climbed the tree. At the start, it was not easy due to her mediocre attributes. But because of her previous life experience and skill, even though with much difficulty, she managed to adapt. The human brain is amazing. It allowed her to be better after a few failures. What took her 2 weeks to master in her previous lifetime in tree climbing, now only took a few hours to master.
