"Nah~ not until you tell me what you know of the NNE upper power structure"

Mars was currently integrating one of the spies from the NNE that had caused disorder in his city during and after the failed invasion, as to how he was interrogating him, it was simple

"I think he's thirsty, give him some more water"

"No please no more---!"

"Then are you ready to talk?"

He was waterboarding him, it was a rather simple method really all that was needed was a bucket of water, a rag or some kind of cloth and a bench

'I remember when I was waterboarded during training... how nostalgic...'

"Yes I'll talk, I'll talk just please no more water!"

"Then I'll entrust the rest of the work to you two"

""Yes lord""

Mars spoke to his two a.s.sistants before he got up from his chair and left the small cell behind as he stretched before he followed the hallway back up towards the sunlight, but he was let down when he arrived as the sun had long since gone down and only the vast night sky greeted him

'Oh well, let's get some food and then go to bed...'

Mars headed towards the kitchen where he was surprised to find Elsa waiting for him or rather she was sitting on a chair dozing off, Mars gave a smile and sneaked over before he began poking her ears ever so softly until eventually she woke up or atleast it looked like she did, her eyes where open but she was not quite awake yet

"Mars~"

Speaking in a slightly slurred voice Elsa reached out with her arms and hugged him close for a few moments until she awoke for real and blushed deeply when she realized what she just had done

"Umm... Mars it's just that---"

"It's fine, I love you too"

ELsa blushed even deeper and remained silent but still slightly tightened her grip on Mars before she spoke

"Umm... Mars, are you hungry?"

"Yeah that's why I am here"

"Then let me make you something"

Mars watched and eventually helped out as Elsa made him some food, after eating/ flirting with Elsa they both went to bed and quickly fell asleep...

Over the next few days Mars interrogated the rest of the spies before he had them executed in a grad fas.h.i.+on on the main square

'Just like the ol' days on earth'

After that he closed the event with a speech about how the city of Ular would never be shaken by outsiders as long as they were as united as they were now, the speech ended with cheers from the crowds and Mars took his leave as the festivities started (because apparently a good execution was nothing if not for the grand feast that followed).

Back at the office Mars got to work with signing doc.u.ments and reading reports until he was interpreted by Elsa that walked in to his office, Mars looked at her blankly for a few moments before he stood up and walked over to her and gave her a hug

"Elsa... I love you"

"Eh..? Mars what's wrong?"

"You're pregnant too, I just could not see it yesterday, but now I definitely do"

Elsa gave a happy smile, but didn't seem too surprised before she but a hand on her still completely flat stomach and spoke

"I knew it... Somehow I just did"

Mars gave a smile and spoke jokenly

"Maybe it's you womanly sense?"

"I wonder?"

Elsa gave a giggle and embraced Mars tightly, the two of them shared a happy few moments before they were interrupted by a knock on the door to Mars' office, Mars still hugging Elsa called out

"Come in"

Jane walked in and saw Mars and Esla flirting

"Excuse me... I am sorry to interrupt lord Mars but the diplomat from the NNE is here now"

"I see... Well, sorry Elsa"

"I don't mind Mars, we can talk afterwards"

"Sure"

Mars walked out of the office following Jane while Elsa walked back to the kitchen, after all it was not proper for the head chef to be away from too long

"So, how is their stance?"

"Hmm... They seem to be wanting compensation for their armies..."

Mars gave a sigh before a cold glint flashed in his eyes and he spoke

"Change of plans, I won't meet this diplomat now"

"Then what will you do Mars?"

"I'll teach them a lesson in humility"

Mars then disappeared in a flash of light and reappeared in his workshop where he picked up his adamant.i.te broadsword before he gave a cold light and sat down the challenge energy, after a few minutes he let out a low shout and once again disappeared in a flash of light...

"H-How did this happen!?"

"Reporting, the 3rd elite guard have been wiped out!"

Halfdan used to be the one of the top military leaders in the old empire, but after having played his cards right doing the civil war he now sat on the throne of the NNE, currently he was at his wits end, even though he remained calm on the surface

"R-Reporting, the 4th elite guard have been wiped out!"

He remained silent as the reports kept coming in and kept his gaze firmly locked on the grand doors to the audience room where he currently sat on a raised throne as his asideds were panicking as the number of elite guard that were being wiped out by what appeared to be a single intruder

"R-Reporting the 5th, 6th and 7th elite guard have been wiped out!"

Halfdan gave a sigh and spoke

"Tell the elite guard to retreat"

"B-But sire that will leave you open!?"

"I don't mind, Besides this does not appear to be a problem simply throwing numbers at can solve"

"...Understood"

"Tell the numbers to gather here, they are to act as the last line of defence"

"Understood!"

Halfdan gave another sigh, the numbers, a group of soldiers that were above the rest and even though there only were 10 of them they had conquered cities before with only them as the offencive force. So needless to say they were the top of the top and wielded authority that only were surpa.s.sed by the emperor.

Soon the numbers arrived, they looked like a random collection of people one could find on the streets, some of them old, some of them young, some of them woman, some of them men. Besides that they were also from different races with 3 of them being elves, 3 of them being demons, three of them being human and the final one being a proud half-dragon, she was also the de facto leader of the numbers and her name was Erio, she like Varvie had a long tail covered in blue scales and her horns were always visible, at once all of the numbers looked towards the doors and Erio spoke

"Here he comes..."

The next instance the doors were kicked in and nearly flew off their handels, Erio widened her eyes slightly before she spoke out to one of the other numbers

"Riuk can you do that?"

An old human man famed for being the strongest of the numbers slowly shook his head and spoke

"I am afraid not, perhaps if I were in  my prime... But kicking in reinforced mithril doors in not something any old bloke would be able to do, that's for sure"

Erio gave a nod but as the dust settled she was once again surprised to see that it was a youth that had kicked in the doors, she had to admit he was slightly handsome, but as she looked closer at him she was surprised and yelled when she saw his dragon like eyes

"...What family do you come from!?"

the youth gave a slight smile that somehow chilled Erio to her core, she quickly shook her head and yelled again

"Answer me! What half-dragon family do you come from!?"

The youth's smile widened slightly before he spoke

"You know I have a younger half brother that wouldn't even fit in this room"

Erio's pupils contracted violently before she quickly shock her head

'No, he's just messing with me, he can't be a first generation otherwise he would have a tail and wings!'

One of the other numbers gave a snort before she spoke

"Captain, should we not just kill this joker and be done with it?"

Erio gave a sigh, she had now convinced herself that the chill she felt was her imagination and not in fact her instincts warning her as she gave a confident smile

"Julie relax, let's see what he wants first"

Julie clicked her tongue and gave a huff as she played with her adamant.i.te dagger, spinning it around like a toy, Mars looked at the dagger and gave a smile before he changed his mana though the adamant.i.te broadsword and watched as the people in the room realized that it was a broadsword of pure adamant.i.te he was carrying as the rust, blood and dirt quickly fell off the blade
