"What do you mean? Dracula? Your older brother?"
Qin continues to sip his tea in a calm and posh manner. At the slight movement of his hand, two maids appear in the corner of the room. Both move urgently to clean the spilled tea and refill the new cup with tea.
"If you want to know more than stay calm and not spill the tea."
Tian sits back down in confusion. Why does she have to obey his orders?
"My older brother was quite foolish you can say. He didn't want fame or the throne. He just wanted to be free from this cage-like prison."
Qin puts down his teacup on the table and looks out of the large window. Tian could feel her heart skip a beat at his sharp feature. He truly was a handsome person after all. The window overlooked a garden with flowers bed rainbow roses.
"He was naïve back then and wanted to live a normal life which is impossible for us. We used to mingle with humans and live with them but that all had to change."
Tian continues to listen to Qin quietly. She could feel the tension building up in the room.
"What happened?" Tian asks hesitantly.
"The only mistake my brother made was going against my father. My father wanted my brother to be serious and take responsibility for being the crown prince. However, my brother wanted to live as a normal human. He wanted to change his origins. That night, my brother went out for a drink."
Tian flinches at the thought of vampires drinking blood. She had felt the pain herself. Her life had felt like it was being drained slowly and was at the edge of the cliff. Although that pain felt like never-ending, now Tian hardly felt anything.
"Don't worry. He didn't go out to drink blood." Qin smiles at Tian gently.
"My brother got drunk and came across a human. To that human, he shared his sorrow. Who he was and what he did? But one thing that my brother never told that human was about his ident.i.ty. His ident.i.ty as a royal."
Qin gets up from his chair and walks towards the window.
"The royal guard protected my brother in time and brought him back. We never knew who that human was and who that person will tell the story to. Every day we waited for it to come out. And it finally did."
"You mean the book on Dracula?"
"Yes. You don't expect the stories to be made from thin air. There is always truth involved in them."
Tian felt a cold chill at the back of her neck. The fictional stories can have hidden secrets that she could never imagine. Fiction can be factual.
"At first we were worried about going to war to protect ourselves because we didn't know what kind of truth would come out. The book that the human wrote was just mere rubbish with just tiny truth." Qin smiles to himself.
"Then what happened to your brother?"
Qin flinches and then starts to walk towards Tian. He turns Tian's chair around and puts both his hands on the chair arm. He leans forward while Tian tries to lean backward in that tiny s.p.a.ce.
"Too much information could be bad for you." Qin chuckles and kisses Tian's forehead.
Tian's hands instantly move to cover her forehead. The warm sensation still lingered on her forehead. Qin moves away from Tian while smiling like he had won the champion league or something.
"Hey!" Tian gets from her chair in anger while still covering her forehead with a hand.
"Don't you think it's too much Mr?" Tian glares straight into Qin's eyes. She had forgotten all the sympathy from his that she felt a few minutes ago. No. This is not the time to be feeling sympathy.
"What do you mean?" Qin looks at her confusingly.
"You can't just kiss me when I don't even know you!"
"What do you mean?" Qin repeats the same question again like he really had no clue.
"Don't joke around with me okay! I have a few questions as well you know. Why am I here? What do you want?" Tian had enough time with being calm and play along with the talk. This was the time to get serious.
Qin smiles to Tian: "What do you mean? You are here because you belong to me and you are my..."
The sentence never finishes on Qin's lips. The words come out but they get buried with Tian's loud voice.
"I don't belong to you!!" Tian's voice rings through the room. Qin frowns and displeasure sinks onto his face. Despite that Tian continues to speak. It's now or never.
"I don't belong to you! I don't belong to anyone! And I don't belong here!"
Tian walks towards Qin. Her hands in a fist to hide the trembling and the fear she felt.
"Listen here. You cannot keep me here. Not now or ever. I listened to your story because I want to know more but it doesn't mean that I am going to sit back and wait to be rescued. It's not my style at least."
Tian walks past Qin and tries to go towards the door. She felt a wave of victory flow through her body. Maybe she won this time.
Before Tian can even go past Qin, he grabs her hand and in the speed of the light, she is pushed against the wall. Qin lifts her head and before Tian even knows it, his lips are attached to her lips. Qin pulls on Tian's lips like he was draining her of energy. He bites her lips to make a statement that she belongs to him.
All the while, Tian keeps struggling to get out of his embrace. No matter how many time she punched his chest, Qin wouldn't let her go. He grabbed her hands and pushed them against the walls as well.
Tian could start feeling her consciousness fading away. It had been more than a minute since Qin had started kissing her. Bitting her lips. Draining her lips.
Qin finally let's go of Tian but before she can fall on the ground, he grabs her. Tian could feel the air again. The oxygen rus.h.i.+ng through her lungs. She had forgotten how to breathe this whole time. Qin tucks Tian's chin upwards so their eyes met each other.
"Don't forget who you belong to Tian. You belong to me! You belong to Qin!" Qin holds Tian in his arms and walks towards the chair. He puts her down.
"Don't ever forget what I ever said Tian. Your world is mine now!" Qin turns around and leaves the room with a loud bang from the door.
t.i.tan's hands tremble in fear as she reaches to touch her lips. She felt blood dripping in the corner of her lips from where Qin had bitted her. What kind of freaking joke is this? Despite the pain, Tian tries her best to hold back the tears.
"I will escape from here you d.a.m.n b.a.s.t.a.r.d! I don't belong to anyone!" A tear rolls down Tian's cheek and she immediately wipes it away. She cannot let herself be weak. Fear. Anger. Tian could feel a mix of these emotions trying to drown her.
A person's greatest weakness is themselves. Tian had to snap out of it or she will never be able to escape from here. She could still feel the warmth and the blood rus.h.i.+ng back into her lips. She slowly gets up from the chair and walks towards the door. Her body still s.h.i.+vered in fear.
