Chapter 2491 Working Together
"Did Grimm Monsters make any progress?" I asked as we walked out of the garden; "No, they are strangely focused on the stainless blood soul lotuses that they did not even glance at the other things." She said, and it widened my eyes in surprise.
'Treasure hunting parties,' I said out in my mind; for the past few months, like us, the Grimms are also sending out crazy numbers of treasure hunting parties to every ruin and realm. They are of every level, from Kings to High Grandmasters.
The parties of Grimms I encountered in the ruin were also treasure hunting parties and were oddly focused on specific resources.
After she answered my question, she placed her gloved hand on the door, and a few seconds later, the formation was revealed. Seeing the formation, my eyes couldn't help but widen; it was on a completely different level, and I would need quite some time to solve it.
So, I began breaking the formation without wasting any time; it had been already hours since the Grimms had entered the final sanctum.
Even though they were especially focusing on the stainless blood soul lotuses, I am sure they would have gotten the resources.
Three hours pa.s.sed, and I had still not finished solving the formation. It is hard, much harder than the other formation. Though I am very much enjoying it, I love these complex, multi-layered formations; they give me the much-needed practice I need for the Hermes library.
I planned to go there this month, I have waited enough already, and I felt like my preparation is enough to solve the formation and get my hands on that library.
Another two hours pa.s.sed when Sarah spoke up again; "They have broken up the formation around the corrupted pool,"
Hearing that, I stopped for a moment before double downing on solving the formation. I have reached very close to it, and it won't be long before I solve it completely.
Twenty-one minutes pa.s.sed, and finally, I was able to solve the formation. It took me nearly six hours which is a lot, considering my avatar and I were working together.
I was about to tell Sarah that I was finished when I saw her with closed eyes and strange little expressions on her face.
"I am finished," I said, a little too loudly, which immediately made her open her eyes. "The Grimms inside the final sanctum are immensely powerful," She said, and my expression couldn't help but become serious.
"Is there a High Grandmaster there?" I asked softly; a High Grandmaster would make things really tricky. "No, but the ones there are pretty close to a High Grandmaster," she replied, and I took a sigh of relief. As long there is no High Grandmaster, there is no problem.
Even a High Grandmaster would not be a problem, or at least I would not have any problem surviving as long as it is not especially strong.
"Here is the key," I said, and a formation materialized in front of me; she scanned it immediately but, to my surprise, made no movements to open the door.
"The Grimms are a little busy right now; I think we should wait till they have dealt with the trouble," She suggested, and I have no problem following her suggestion.
Since they have entered the final sanctum before us. It is their duty to remove all traps; we will open the door when they go for the treasure; till then, I will have to satisfy myself with what we have in this garden.
"Bring out the restriction on that plant," I said, motioning toward the frost-flowing roses, one of the most precious plants in the garden.
Sarah did not move; instead, she turned toward me, "I want half of these flowers," She said with a tone that booked no arguments.
I looked at her, but her eyes did not budge; I knew if I rejected her request, she would not help me, and I really needed her help, the help of her artifacts, to bring out the runic protection.
"Fine," I said with a sigh as I agreed with her demands.
She activated her defensive methods and walked toward the flower, carefully avoiding all the traps while dealing with any attack that came in her way.
The frost-flowing roses are at the outskirt of the garden; there is danger but not as big as one we will have if we were to go for those which are truly deep in the garden. Who knows, if we touched them, the real dangerous plants might attack us.
Finally, she reached it and touched the invisible projection, and a couple of seconds later, the formation became visible. She tried to break it with her artifact but again was unsuccessful in doing that.
I quickly copied the formation and began to solve it; the formation was not easy, but I was confident that I would be able to solve it within an hour.
While I was solving the formation, Sarah once again closed her eyes, keeping her eyes on the Grimm Monsters. The plants here are precious, but they are still nothing compared to the final sanctum; that place is where the real treasures are.
"Here is the key," It took me thirty-nine minutes to solve the formation. She quickly copied and walked toward the flower; this time, I went with her. She gave me her usual cold look but did not say anything.
Buzz!
The formation buzzed as it had broken, and before Sarah could move her hand to pluck those beautiful white roses, she saw them plucking on their own. The boxes appeared out of storage at the same time, and I began storing the roses; while I dealt with a few plants that attacked us.
"Your share," I said and handed her sixteen boxes while keeping the seventeen to me. There was a total of thirty-three frost-flowing roses we got from the plant, and I decided to keep the extra since most of the work had been done by me.
"I will keep the extra next time," she said; it seemed like she did not like our sharing formulae, but I decided not to argue
There are many resources here; losing one or two would not affect me much.
