Chapter 382 Silent Burial

Xiang Ning leaped from the still-warm body of the Thunder Eagle. The hopeless situation had been turned around within a minute, and in a very violent manner. Had his powers reached such a height already?

People refused to believe it, but that was reality. Xiang Ning was beyond their comprehension. He couldn’t be compared to his peers, only the prodigies of the previous generation.

The Iron Tank, also known as the King of Defense, decided to continue charging after it witnessed Xiang Ning, who was six stars stronger than itself, kill the Thunder Eagle. Perhaps it was just very dumb. When it lunged at Xiang Ning, he gripped his sword with two hands. The Devourer was still hot from its golden form that had killed the eagle, and the moment the Iron Tank arrived, he slashed in front of him.

The audience gasped. It looked as if he was going to take the Iron Tank by force, which was unbelievable. Although he had killed two strong beasts beforehand, this was a beast with exceptional defenses and very difficult to hurt. Wasn’t he being too reckless?

The audience, however, didn’t see any hard, brutal moves, but instead a very graceful movement that didn’t feel like it belonged on this battlefield of iron, blood, and fire.

Indents formed in the ground beneath the Iron Tank’s hooves as it charged with bloodshot eyes, the only thought in its head to eat the human in front….

“Dancing Peacock!”

The Yin of Tai Chi was activated once more, and when the Iron Tank was about to be flung out, Xiang Ning’s sword suddenly turned. “Silent Burial!” he softly muttered. When he was a teacher at Qiling Academy, he had gained access to the entirety of the school library, which meant that every breathing technique, martial style, and skill was available for him to learn. Still, it was difficult to find a skill that suited him and it took him more than a month to find one.

‘Silent Burial’ wasn’t just limited to swords, but could be used for many weapon types. The moment he unleashed it, the audience felt an extraordinary flow between Dancing Peacock and the skill; Xiang Ning became a graceful, silent murderer as if he was bringing the beast back to its source. The wilderness was where beasts were born. After humans built cities with indomitable fortresses defending them, the beasts were, in the end, fated to die in the wilderness too.

It was a graceful, silent murder without any shocking violence. The Iron Tank fell to its knees, then crashed entirely to the ground. None of the fighters present understood what had just happened. All they saw was the Iron Tank keeling over and dying.

Some people wanted to dig deeper, but they couldn’t find the reason. All they knew was that the world had changed. Xiang Ning had killed three tier six beasts in less than five minutes. It was insane, and they needed an outlet to vent their shock. When Xiang Ning walked away from the three carcasses, the lower-tier beasts that had wanted to charge forward all skidded to a halt. The aura radiating from the human in front of them was one that invoked fear. And the Sovereign’s Throne amplified it, making him infinitely more terrifying.

While the crowd praised his ruthlessness, Xiang Ning spat out a mouthful of blood where they couldn’t see. Five minutes was his limit to keep all eight gates open.

“Refresh.” Xiang Ning immediately activated his Refresh, clearing all negative conditions in his system and recovering back to tier four, nine-star. He had broken through once again.

There had initially been some distance between himself and his next breakthrough, but opening eight gates was so harmful to his body that he broke through to tier four, nine-star from the many Experience Points.

Xiang Ning’s ranking shot up to thirty-first on the Hunter’s Board. The top thirty fighters were at least tier five masters, all of whom had spent the last six months climbing up to their present rankings. Xiang Ning, on the other hand, had surpassed all of his seniors and reached the thirty-first spot.

Those who witnessed him fight had no comment because he was indeed that strong. He had completed a task that a team might not be able to do at all and it had only taken him an hour. Perhaps due to the lingering killing intent from killing the tier six beasts, the rest of the beasts either bore no hostility or were killed when they tried testing the waters.

Xiang Ning led the trapped soldiers out alone without losing a single person in the process. Such a result was unfathomable.

If his activities could attract three tier six beasts, it naturally also attracted the attention of a Beast King, the Blizzard Fox. Since Xiang Ning had killed many of its minions, it had long set its eyes on him. It was just that it was currently being occupied by a tier seven Sect Master.

With other beasts present, it had wanted to focus on the Sect Master before it, then swallow Xiang Ning’s body later. However, it didn’t expect the boy to kill three tier six beasts. Perhaps due to its emotional shock, flaws started appearing in its attacks, giving Sect Master Qiu many chances to hurt it. The scales started to tip toward the human side.

But as a Beast King, it naturally had a trick up its sleeve. With the price of getting injured itself, the Blizzard Fox triggered Sect Master Qiu’s old injuries, then charged past the human.

The fox was an intelligent beast, and this was a calculated move. It first waited for Xiang Ning to save the rest of the humans from the herd, gathering more of them together. Fearsome beasts evolved after consuming humans due to the vitality in their bodies—it would use their blood to heal itself!

Then the injury would be healed!

When he saw the beast charging past him, Sect Master Qiu had a bad feeling and roared, “Xiang Ning! RUN!” He was very pleased with this child, even wanting to take him as a disciple and teach him all he knew. However, he knew that a kid like that must have a powerful member supporting him from behind and dismissed the idea.

Seeing the Blizzard Fox charge at him, the thirty-plus martial artists Xiang Ning saved gave him a bitter smile. “Looks like we still have to stay.”

Xiang Ning ignored them. “I helped you get out, so I’ll make sure you safely return. You guys go, I’ll stop the Blizzard Fox.”

The fox must die!
