Looking at Jiang Youyou’s annoyed face, the officer quickly waved in dismissal. “Alright, go ahead and explain.”Jiang Youyou bared her teeth as if she wanted to bite him. The police decided not to question her any further, and instead recorded a video of the scene as evidence. They decided to leave the area to the other authorities.

“Both of you, follow me back to the station so that I can hear your story.” He immediately handcuffed Xiang Ning, while Jiang Youyou closely followed them. 

Xiang Ning was dismayed at the different treatment. “Wait, why aren’t you cuffing her?”

“Sigh. There’s differences even among humans.” The policeman was helpless, too. He was once a young man blazing with justice to save the world, but now he was hesitant to even put handcuffs on Jiang Youyou. Plus, she was the victim of a car crash and hadn’t fought back, so naturally, she didn’t need to be cuffed. That was a good enough explanation.

The station wasn’t far from where they were.

“Old He, I’ll leave this guy to you. Just ask for some simple information and check his background.” 

“Sure!” Old He was a friendly man in his forties. He reassured Xiang Ning, “Don’t worry, you just need to answer some questions.” He had already received news of how a strong teenager appeared beside the daughter of the Jiang family. Just from that alone, he knew that Xiang Ning’s background wasn’t ordinary. A young boy that was strong and following the daughter of the Jiang family? It was either a suitor or the son-in-law himself!

Xiang Ning nodded and told him about some of his basic information. Only then did Old He know that Xiang Ning had come to attend the tournament. He knew about it since the information had been disseminated to everyone just a week before, and countless young geniuses were gathered in Hang City. As a citizen of the glorious Hang City, even the commoners knew much about the world’s affairs.

Old He was no exception.

After compiling the information, he explained, “There should be no problem, since your case can be counted as self-defense. All you need to do now is to contact your instructor—” He didn’t even get to finish his sentence.

The sound of screeching cars came from outside as Old He looked at the entrance. He saw a middle-aged man in a suit walking into the station. His presence signified him as someone unordinary.

A lady in a tight and sexy dress walked beside him. Xiang Ning instinctively felt that the lady was as dangerous as a venomous snake. He would need to open at least five gates to win against her!

Jiang Youyou’s face stiffened as she saw them, her eyes a mix of fear and anger. Xiang Ning saw how anxious she was, and thought they were either her family members or the ones who wanted to take her away.

Xiang Ning asked Old He, “Hey, do you know them?”

“Of course. That man is the second son of the Jiang family. I think you shouldn’t meddle in their affairs any longer or there’ll be consequences,” Old He replied.

Xiang Ning nodded and walked toward Jiang Youyou. At the same time, the second son of the Jiang family stood in front of her.

“Follow me back.”

“And if I don’t?”

“You have no choice.”

He stretched out his hand to grab her. Xiang Ning activated Keen Observation at the same time. While they couldn’t fight in the station, it was better to be safe than sorry. Plus, he felt that the woman would be able to sense his intentions.

True enough, the woman felt something was wrong and grabbed the man’s arm. She stood in front of him and glared at Xiang Ning.

Xiang Ning didn’t fear her and glared right back at her.

Tension soared in the room as the other policemen weren’t sure how they should act. It wouldn’t be pretty.

Thankfully, a man that could resolve everything walked out of his office. The chief of Hang City’s west district police station warned them. “This is a police station. You dare start a fight here?”

Xiang Ning stiffened. The chief was as strong as Lei Zhongyuan!

“Chief Zhang, this is a family affair. We’ll be responsible for all damages and reimburse anything that gets destroyed.”

“Zhao, are you done recording their statements?”

“Chief! I’m done with them.”

Jiang Youyou wanted to turn to Xiang Ning and request his help, but the lady beside her second uncle was too strong. She also knew that Xiang Ning didn’t come from a wealthy family and she was afraid of dragging him into their affairs. She only wanted him to walk away safely. Still, she was frightened.

“Come on, don’t be shy. Just say the word and I will protect you.” He had already said before that he was a man who would repay all of the kindnesses he received. Not to mention that Jiang Youyou had immensely helped him, how could he just look at her being taken away?

Jiang Youyou looked up at him with tear-filled eyes. She cried and wiped them away, but they wouldn’t stop coming. Even Xiang Ning was at a loss at how to deal with it.

“Don’t cry, let me help you.”

“Ok.” Her voice was soft as she huddled behind Xiang Ning. Chief Zhang was confused, so he called for Old He. He asked Old He about Xiang Ning’s background information.

Something wasn’t right. Xiang Ning’s background information was too little and simple. It was unbefitting of a youngster with immense strength like him. He was even involved in the affairs of the Jiang family; how could his background be this simple?

Unfortunately, it was the truth. His background was as blank as paper because he really didn’t come from a wealthy family. It was as if his information had been hidden by someone else and was only accessible to a select few. They had only managed to search out Xiang Ning’s most basic information.

“Who are you?” The man asked.

“Just a commoner from Marsh City.”

“Marsh City?” He hadn’t heard of it.

The lady by his side whispered something into his ear. He took a deep breath to calm his emerging rage. “It’s best if you step away now.”

“Heh. Sure.” Xiang Ning walked to the side. The lady was confused, but the man had already warned her to be on guard.

What Xiang Ning did next was exactly what they had anticipated. A giant sword, one that was over 1.7 meters long, appeared in front of them. The blade was blocking horizontally in front of Jiang Youyou. “Come over here and I’ll let you take her.”

Good good. Protect her and she will be part of your harem in the future hohoho
