Xiang Ning walked out of the bathhouse feeling refreshed. Something interesting happened just as he walked out to the streets. Fate was often whimsical, and scenes that happen in movies may happen in real life. Just like how he used to watch TV series with his sister and complained about how the main character was always in the right place at the right time, like a plane crash, a car accident, or getting run over by a truck. It was nonsense!

But when something similar happened in real life, there was only time to say “FUCK!”

He saw a car crash into a street lamp just in front of him. Either the car had run into the street lamp at the right angle, or it was made of very good material. The street lamp had bent toward the sidewalk and pinned the car. What the fuck? was all Xiang Ning could muster in his brain.

He ran over, displaying the true speed of a tier four martial artist. Two martial artists on the same tier as him also rushed to the car at a moment’s notice. Some pedestrians had also started helping wrestle the car wreck out from under the light post.

A black car swerved around a corner and stopped near the wreckage. A few men in black disembarked from the car.

“The Jiang family?” The two tier four martial artists stopped when they saw the emblem of the Jiang family on their uniforms. They didn’t hesitate to step down. One of them even warned Xiang Ning. “Hey kid, the Jiang family is most likely involved. It’s better if we don’t butt in.”

“But… we should still save the person right?”

“Silly child.” The two martial artists disappeared into the crowd. Only Xiang Ning was trying hard to pry open the warped door of the car. He managed to do so after a few tries and was shocked. A myriad of emotions blossomed in his heart, complicated yet elated.

“Xiang Ning!”

Both of them shouted each others’ name at the same time.

“What’s the matter?” Xiang Ning asked as the two men in black arrived.

“Kid, this doesn’t involve you. Move aside.” He pushed Xiang Ning away. 

Xiang Ning didn’t make any move, because the person before told him that they were from the Jiang family, but when he saw Jiang Youyou’s fearful eyes and her struggle to break free, he hesitated. “What’re you guys doing? Xiang Ning! Save me!”Those four words were enough for Xiang Ning to burst into action. Utilizing the Shadowmist Ghost Step, he quickly stepped on the approaching fist launched by one of the men. He grabbed the head of a man and pushed.

The sound of cracking concrete rang as the pedestrians saw Xiang Ning smash the man’s head into the ground. They were aghast to see someone reckless enough to raise their hand against the men from the Jiang family.

The man in question was knocked out cold from the impact. The onlookers were shocked at someone this young being so strong. Why did he interfere? Did he know the girl in the car? They had heard her calling out a name but didn’t pay attention to it.

Xiang Ning quickly came to Jiang Youyou’s side. She was ecstatic to see him. “Wait, don’t move so much. Careful, can you come out by yourself?”

Jiang Youyou nodded. “Look out! Behind you!”

Xiang Ning turned and saw some of the men taking out hot weaponry, the laser sights trained on Xiang Ning. The pedestrians immediately scattered as they feared for their lives. There was no way they could seek compensation from the Jiang family if they were hurt in the crossfire.

“Leave, this is a matter of the Jiang family.” Their tone was much gentler this time, because they’d seen how strong Xiang Ning was. They knew that the circumstances were special, and many geniuses had come to Hang City from all over China. It was very likely that the young man in front of them was one of those geniuses.

“Jiang family?” Xiang Ning turned and looked at Jiang Youyou. “Is this your own family affairs?”

“No!” Jiang Youyou lied. She couldn’t give up her last hope; how could she be taken back after she had so painstakingly escaped?

“Then I’m afraid you aren’t taking her.” Xiang Ning glared at the men. They wasted no time and fired, a hail of bullets aimed at him. He activated the Heaven’s Key Armor and deployed an energy shield to block the bullets.

To think that the people from the Jiang family wouldn’t even bother to ensure the safety of others before firing. Looks like they’re all knuckleheads. Xiang Ning shot past the energy shield as he utilized the Shadowmist Ghost Step before stopping in front of them. He had Keen Observation, how could he be hit by them?

The men were immediately knocked down by Xiang Ning, who then returned to the crashed car. Jiang Youyou hadn’t changed ever since he had last seen her a few months before in Fortress Three.

“Didn’t you say that you wanted to become a pilot? Are you treating the car as a plane now?” Xiang Ning laughed as he pulled her out gently.

“I… this car has a flight mode, but it can’t fly in cities,” Jiang Youyou weakly answered.

Xiang Ning didn’t know whether she was lying or not.

“Fine, are you alright? How should we handle them?” He pointed toward the men.

“Hmm, to think that you got so much stronger.” She rubbed her aching butt.

“Not really, but it seems that we can no longer escape,” he said.

The commotion was too big. As a megacity, how could the response team of Hang City be slow?

“Put up your hands and take off your armor!” Three police cars had arrived and numerous police armed with excellent equipment came out. Two of them had hot weapons, while the rest were equipped with iridium weapons.

Xiang Ning deactivated his armor and stood there motionlessly. The police weren’t sure what he was plotting as they saw him smiling. Was the youngster the one responsible for the mess?

Two of them walked forward and questioned him, “We received a report. Care to explain?”

“It’s better if you ask her.” He pointed toward Jiang Youyou.

“Erk! It's the daughter of the Jiang family.”

Looking at how they reacted, it seemed that there was more to the story.

“What’re you looking at?!” Jiang Youyou was annoyed.
