264 Are You Ready, Wife?

It took Yang Yun one night to register that he was going to become a father. The next morning he woke up, Yang Yun started to treat Mingyue more careful. It was as if his wife was made of porcelain, and she was going to break soon.

"You don't have to act too careful," Mingyue said.

"Didn't they said that the first three months were crucial for expecting mother?"

Mingyue went forward and put her hand on Yang Yun's mouth. Then, she looked around. Once she was sure that there was n.o.body around, Mingyue let out a relieved sigh.

"Don't say it out loud. Didn't we agree to keep this a secret?"

Yang Yun could only smile helplessly.

A few days ago, Mingyue had made her decision to keep her pregnancy a secret from her adoptive parents and her sister. In a few days, the two of them will make a trip to the mountain to open a portal for them to return to Da Cheng.

Mingyue knew how much the Lin's family loved and cared about her. In the end, Mingyue chose not to say a word to them because she knew that they would only worry.

"The reception will begin soon," Mingyue said as she glanced at the clock. "I should go to my parents and help them to greet the guests. You should go and get to Brother Xue's side."

Yang Yun nodded. "Mingyue, if it gets too tired, don't forget to take a break."

"Un, I know," Mingyue smiled. She kissed her husband on his cheek and turned around. In just a few steps, Mingyue paused and turned around.

"What's wrong?" Yang Yun asked. He closed the distance between them and held her hand.

"Nothing," Mingyue shook her head. "I forgot to tell you that you look good."

Yang Yun laughed. This was not the first time that he had to wear something formal as suit and tie. The first time Xue Yi Ming had brought him to the Lin's residence to let him meet Mingyue, Yang Yun was forced to wear something similar as well.

"Well, you look beautiful, too," he complimented. He scanned his eyes on the gold rose dress on Mingyue's body and smiled. Suddenly, he thought that perhaps, he should not let her go out and greet the guests.

"Well, I'm going," Mingyue said before Yang Yun could voice out his mind. In the end, Yang Yun could only watch as his wife entered the hall to look for her parents.

When Mingyue entered the hall, she found her father at the corner of the room, entertaining a few military officials, while her mother was at a table, talking to a few of her friends. Once her mother saw her, she gestured Mingyue to come over before she introduced Mingyue to her friends.

As her mother continued her conversation with her friends, Mingyue took the chance to look around. Mingyue thought that the wedding ceremony in this world was fascinating. However, some customs were a bit similar to the one from her world as well.

Though the wedding ceremony in this world was lively, it was not as loud as the wedding in Da Cheng. On her wedding day, the neighbors and family members gathered around to help with the preparation. Even Yang Yun's mother had personally cooked a dish. However, in this world, her parents hired caterers!

The food prepared by the caterers looked tasty and lavish. Mingyue thought that some of the foods here were worthy of being served in the palace.

"Are you hungry?"

Mingyue turned around and smiled at her mother. "Not really."

Mother Lin laughed. "You have been eyeing the food on the table for a long time. Are you sure you're not hungry?" Mother Lin asked. "If you're hungry, just go and eat something. It's not good to starve yourself."

Mingyue lowered her gaze and laughed. "Mom, you're mistaken. I only thought that the food looks very vibrant and festive. It was different than the one from my place."

"Really?" Mother Lin's expression brightened up. "Since you haven't tasted them, that's more reason why you should try those dishes." Mother Lin called a waiter and instructed him to bring a plate of food.

In the end, Mingyue had no choice but to sit down and ate.

After a while walking around the hall, someone came to Mingyue with a message from her sister. As the bride and groom were about to enter the hall, Mingyue went out to look for her sister.

A smile curved on Lin Tian Yu's lips when she saw her sister approaching.

"Sorry. I was accompanying mom and her friends," Mingyue shot an apologetic smile. She gave her sister a look over and said, "Sister, you look beautiful."

"Thank you."

"I still cannot believe that I'm a married woman?"

Mingyue laughed. "You have turned to a married woman the day you received the red book. That was months ago."

Lin Tian Yu sighed. "I know. Today, it feels like we're letting our friends and family know that we're married. Now that we have this ceremony, everything felt unreal."

Mingyue smiled. Her thought went back to her wedding with Yang Yun six years ago. When she had to perform the wedding ritual in front of others, she thought that everything was unreal. Because her face was covered with a red veil, there was nothing she could do but to rely on Yang Yun.

Suddenly, Mingyue found herself in her sister's embrace.

"I'm glad you're here," Lin Tian Yu said. She pulled away and met Mingyue's gaze. The thought that her sister will return to her world in a few days made her heart ached.

Mingyue stepped forward to dab her tears with a napkin. "Don't cry. Or else, you'll ruin your make up." Seeing the way her sister was looking at her, Mingyue immediately understood her sister's tears. "Today is your wedding day. Let's just focus on the happy moment, alright?"

Lin Tian Yu sniffed as she nodded,

Soon, someone from the wedding planning company walked over to the bride and signaled her to get ready.

With a deep breath, Lin Tian Yu gathered the skirt in her hand and made her way out. Outside the room, Xue Yi Ming and his friends were waiting for his bride to come out.

Once Xue Yi Ming saw his bride, his expression turned to daze. It was not until Li Ran nudged him on his side that he snapped out of his trance. Xue Yi Ming stepped slowly towards his wife. He offered his arms and raised a brow. "Are you ready, wife?"
