262 Waiting For You

Suddenly, someone coughed behind his back. Yang Yun turned around to see his father-in-law stood behind him. The frown on his face gradually disappeared, and Yang Yun smiled as he greeted General Lin politely. "Dad."

A week after Mingyue had resigned from her job, the Lin's couple had asked both Mingyue and Yang Yun to stay at the Lin's residence. At first, Mingyue hesitated, but once she thought that she would be leaving soon, Mingyue and Yang Yun agreed. That way, she will have more time to spent with her parents.

General Lin cleared his throat again before he spoke, "Mingyue has been accompanying her mom shopping for a few things for the wedding. I guess she gets too tired. I tried to talk to her to return to her room, but she insisted that she was not sleepy and wanted to wait until you come back. But look at this child. It hasn't been ten minutes, and Mingyue already asleep." General Lin shook his head.

For a while, the two men watched the sleeping person with their eyes full of doting.

Only a few days left until Xue Yi Ming and Li Tian Yu's wedding. Both sides of the family were busy with the wedding preparation. These past few days, Mingyue has been helping her mother and sister with the last minute preparation for the wedding. As this was the first wedding that the Lin's family would be hosting, there are a lot of things to do and consider.

"Then, I will go up first," General Lin said awkwardly. "You should wake her up and let her return to the room." he coughed again and turned around to head back to his study.

Yang Yun smiled as he watched Father Lin disappeared from his eyesight.

In the beginning, when Father Lin found out that her relations.h.i.+p with Mingyue was husband and wife, he had treated Yang Yun differently. However, as time pa.s.s by and with Mother's Lin's constant threat, General Lin began to warm up to Yang Yun. Moreover, he saw how well Yang Yun treated his daughter. As long as his daughter was happy, how could General Lin continue to be unhappy?

Yang Yun turned around and looked at his wife. He picked up the remote and switched off the television, then, Yang Yun crouched down beside Mingyue. His lips curved into a smile as he watched her sleeping figure.

He was planning to wake her up, but seeing how Mingyue was sleeping soundly, Yang Yun decided to carry her upstairs.

Mingyue stirred as her nose picked up a familiar scent. Subconsciously, she began to find a more comfortable position and buried her face on Yang Yun's chest. Just as she thought that she had found a comfortable spot, the familiar scent disappeared. It was then that Mingyue woke up. She was stunned the moment her eyes met with her husband's.

"You woke up?" Yang Yun smiled.

Mingyue stretched up her body and blinked. It seemed that her mind was still in a daze. "You're home!"

"Un. I'm back," Yang Yun nodded. "Sorry to keep you waiting. But, if you tired, you should return to our room and sleep."

Mingyue looked around and noticed that she was no longer in the TV room. She quickly deduced that Yang Yun had carried her back into the room. "I was waiting for you."

Seeing her sleepy look, Yang Yun could only watch his wife with helplessness. He bent down to kiss her on her forehead before he pulled the blanket up to cover her body. "You sleep first. I'll go and take a shower."

"Hmm," Mingyue nodded absentmindedly. She adjusted her position on the bed and closed her eyes. When Mingyue heard the sound of the bathroom door closed, her eyes snapped open, and she sat up straight.

Immediately, her sleepiness disappeared.

Mingyue then recalled how she was waiting for Yang Yun to come back as she had something important to tell him.

When Yang Yun walked out of the bathroom, he saw that Mingyue was leaning on the bed. She was watching him with a puzzling gaze. Noticing that something seemed wrong with her, Yang Yun walked over the bed.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" Yang Yun asked.

Mingyue replied to him with a smile. She got out of bed and grabbed the towel in Yang Yun's hand. "Let me help you to dry your hair."

Yang Yun watched her for a few seconds longer before he nodded. He sat obediently at the edge of the bed, and soon, the sound of the hairdryer filled the room. As Yang Yun's hair was quite long, it took Mingyue a while before she could dry her husband's hair.

Just as Mingyue switched off the hairdryer and put it on the side table, Yang Yun grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him. Before long, Mingyue found herself sitting on Yang Yun's laps.

Their gaze met, and Mingyue was the first to look away.

"What's the matter?" Yang Yun asked. His lips curved up in an amused smile. "Why aren't you obediently go to bed since you're sleepy?"

"I have something to say,"

Yang Yun nodded. "Then, you speak."

"Can you let me go first?" Mingyue peeked at her husband before she avoided his gaze again. Although she loved the way Yang Yun looked at her, his penetrating gaze always made her shy.

"You can say whatever you wanted to. Just let me hug you for a while."

Mingyue tilted her head to look at him. Just as she was about to protest, Mingyue saw his teasing smile. "Fine," Mingyue said. She decided to indulge him for a while. With that decision, Mingyue leaned her face on his chest and stayed silently in that position for a while.

For a few minutes, none of them spoke as they enjoyed each other's presence.

"Yang Yun," Mingyue spoke again. She pulled away from his hug and lifted her head to look at him in the eyes.

As their gaze met, Yang Yun, saw that his wife was looking at him with complex emotion. Seeing that there seemed to be something wrong with her, Yang Yun felt his heart skipped a beat. "What's wrong?"
