180 A Plan To Court Mingyue

Yang Yun saw familiar scenery and walked forward. After a few minutes of walking and hiking on the hill, Yang Yun arrived at the place where he landed. He removed the dried gra.s.ses and saw the marking he made.

"This is the place?" Xue Yi Ming asked.

"You should take a few steps back lest you might get suck into the other world," Yang Yun said.

When Xue Yi Ming heard his words, his face turned pale. "You don't scare me. Didn't you say that you will need a special day before you can open a portal big enough for you to enter?"

Yang Yun smiled and did not answer. He took off his bag and took out a few equipment and stones. With chalk, Yang Yun drew a 12-inch circle. Then, he drew a few symbols to form an array. Once he finished, Yang Yun sat in lotus posture and started to recite the incantation that Chief Ye had taught him. After a few minutes, the symbol lightened up, and a small portal formed.

Xue Yi Ming fell on his b.u.t.t when he saw the small portal. His eyes widened. He could not believe that he was able to witness such a thing before his eyes.

Although he had interacted with Yang Yun for more than a month and knew that he came from a different world than him, Xue Yi Ming found that it was all surreal.

"It's real," Xue Yi Ming muttered. Li Ran would die from excitement if he were here. Xue Yi Ming watched Yang Yun took out a small container and threw it into the portal. Just like that, the vessel disappeared into the light, and the portal closed on its own.

Yang Yun stood up to wipe away the symbol he had written. Then, he collected the stones and put them into his bag. He tried to stand up and felt his legs weakened.

"What's wrong with you?" Xue Yi Ming went to Yang Yun's side and noticed that the man was sweating profusely. "Are you okay?"

"Trying to open up a small portal like that was not easy," Yang Yun admitted. He took a few deep breaths to calm down. "It took too much of my energy. I studied with the tribe's chief for five years, and still, I can only open up a small portal to send out a letter."

"Let's stay here for a while and leave when you're much better," Xue Yi Ming said.

Yang Yun nodded. He glanced at the area where the portal had appeared and prayed that his family would receive his letter and worry about him and Mingyue less.

Yang Yun looked at the two men before him and frowned.

A few days ago, Yang Yun talked with Xue Yi Ming and told him that since Mingyue had forgotten about him, then, he planned to win his wife's heart back. He had done that once and was sure that he would be able to do it again.

Xue Yi Ming then told him that he would help with whatever he can.

And now, Xue Yi Ming had dragged his friend, Li Ran, over to help him think of a plan to court Mingyue.

As Yang Yun looked at their excited face, he was speechless. He found that he could not reject their kind offer. They have brainstormed for a while and came up with a few ideas.

"I still think it would be better if you tell her about her past," Li Ran said. He had listened to Yang Yun's problem and came up with this conclusion. "Who knows, this might trigger something in her memory and help her to remember."

"Do you think it's easy?" Xue Yi Ming said. "Even if Yang Yun wanted to tell Lin Mingyue about her past, he could not do it rashly. What if he frightened her?"

"You need to do it indirectly," Li Ran said.

Seeing that Li Ran seemed to know what he was talking about, both Yang Yun and Xue Yi Ming sat up straight with interest.

"What do you think I should do?" Yang Yun asked.

"You should write it down," Li Ran said.

"Like a love letter?" Xue Yi Ming asked.

"No. Like a storybook. A novel or anything like it," Li Ran suggested. "When you're closer to Lin Mingyue, you should let her read your work and pretend that you were looking for feedback. This way, you don't have to be afraid that you might frighten her."

"It might work. But why do I feel like there was something wrong with this?" Xue Yi Ming said. He looked at Li Ran and finally noticed what was wrong with his friend's idea. "s.h.i.+t. Li Ran, you were trying to take advantage of Yang Yun, weren't you?"

"What did I do?"

"How can I forgot that you owned a publis.h.i.+ng company?" Xue Yi Ming said. "You just wanted Yang Yun to write a story and let him hand the ma.n.u.script to you?"

Li Ran's face went black. "Do you think it's easy to get yourself published? Even if Yang Yun gave me a ma.n.u.script, it doesn't mean that he can get his work published. I still have to evaluate his work."

"So you admitted that you do have this intention."

"What if I have this intention? Xue Yi Ming, don't think that I have forgotten your betrayal. How could you let Yang Yun open a portal without bringing me along?"

Yang Yun rubbed his head as he watched the two drunkards before him. He didn't think that they have drunk too much, but how did they get drunk too fast? Yang Yun lifted the gla.s.s and took a sip. He let the two friends fought over like a child and thought over his plans.

These few days, Yang Yun had visited the hospital where Mingyue worked and stood far away just to take a glance at her.

If he were to follow his heart, Yang Yun would rush to Mingyue's side and pulled her into his embrace. However, right now, he had to be patient. He will get closer to Mingyue again slowly. If he can get her heart back and stay by her side again, he was willing to do anything.
