Chapter 43: Living in a Noble Tomb, Unveiling the Treasures!
Zhang Yang felt that this tomb was a gift from god. At the end of the tomb, there are two holes, one is from which a tomb raider came and scavenged, profiting off somebody else's death.
Zhang Yang crawls through the small cavern-like passage to reach the tomb.
The tomb seemed to house a king of sorts or a high-ranking noble, Zhang Yang depicted this since the tomb itself was extremely vast. In the center of the room sits a grand coffin. Zhang Yang flips over the coffin. It appears all treasures that remained in this tomb were looted, the skeleton in which belonged inside the casket was smashed up and left in a corner of the room.
If this was Zhang Yang a year ago, seeing the tomb and this skeleton would scare him senseless.
But now with his sense of guilt lost, he felt disappointed that only this skeleton remained, without anything of value.
"Such a poor guy, your remains were ruined after death! Seems like you don't get any peace."
"Im taking your tomb as of now, I'll be taking it as a gift from you to me. Don't worry, I'll bury you in a place that's even richer with Feng Shui, perhaps finally letting you rest in peace." The Feng Shui essence of this area has already degraded, it wasn't a proper burial station.
He waves his finger and digs a hole in the solid ground, collecting the bones and placing them inside.
This tomb is brimming with Yin Qi, If a normal human were to stay here, he would run out of oxygen quickly. But for Zhang Yang, this place was rather comforting, staying here would mean a delightful experience.
He places a Yin bead on his tongue, absorbing it as it slides down his throat. He raises the mystical methods of the 'Tai Yin Refining Figures' whilst cultivating, turning the Yin Qi into spiritual power. He then guides the spiritual power all around his body to nourish the cells.
Zhang Yang realizes that his cells are absorbing slower than when he drank the blood of the boa, possibly since his cells were already filled to the brink from the earlier relief.
(Cells absorbed the boa's blood and now it's slower because the cells are full)
"At this rate, when will I be able to return to a Level 6 Walking Zombie? How can I tell what level I am without my cyclones?"
"I guess when my entire body is filled with spiritual power, then I've reached the peak level of Walking Zombies. Perhaps then, I'll get a chance to refine my foundation and evolve to new heights, the Purple Blood Zombie."
"Whether it's human, zombie, or beast cultivators, their cultivation methods are all completely diverse. The main similarity is that all will convert Qi into spiritual power.
"Let's not worry about this matter, I believe that my cultivation thus far has been steady, all my answers will be revealed at the peak stage."
Zhang Yang suddenly remembers the items that he snatched from the thin cultivator's body, his mood turned from satisfied to a child opening presents on Christmas.
Although he was eager, this wasnt the place to take out items that could possibly be tracked by the compass.
"I knew the Corpse Refining Sect could find me based on the mark placed on the coffin, but I'm clueless about these other items. If they marked these items, then I'll truly be vulnerable, I can't have this tomb exposed too"
He first takes out an extra robe and spreads it out, finding that it has four pockets. Then, Zhang Yang scoops out the broken skeleton, piling it neatly on the robe before heading out with an Agility Boosting Talisman on.
He spends half an hour of searching before finally encountering soil that was rich in Feng Shui, there he would bury the remains properly before running away again.
After a long while, he stopped and surveyed the area.
"I think here will be fine, I need to check the items for anything, I can't have another close encounter with the Corpse Refining Sect."
With this process of thinking, he pulls out a coffin.
"Why are they able to use a compass to find the coffin? Where is this tracer placed?"
A black mark on the coffin lures his attention. This black mark was smothered with red paint, and if not for Zhang Yang's spiritual sense, he would've never discovered it.
Zhang Yang carves out this mark with his sharp nails before throwing it 10 meters away. He uses the compass again to find the silver needle follow the direction of the discarded spiritual mark.
"Haha, I found it! Only those able to use spiritual sense can find such an annoying trick."
(Only cultivators of Foundation Building realm and up can use spiritual sense.)
He then clears the other three coffins, now all four coffins belonged solely to Zhang Yang.
After obtaining the coffin from the scrawny disciple, he uncovers the coffin as a strong streak of Yin Qi blasted towards him. A zombie resided in this coffin and it had the presence of a supreme being.
"This zombie could spread such heavy Qi even when sealed? What would the horror be if he were to be released"
Zhang Yang takes a deep breath to invoke a calm mind and serene heart.
The zombie has rough skin similar to elm bark, the skin color is a deep purple. His looks alone gave the impression of absolute defense with shining nails that could blind. A face with weapons, teeth that could break through any solid slid off the crevice of the slightly gaping mouth. The zombie itself seemed to be stronger than anything Zhang Yang has encountered.
"This is a Purple Blood Zombie?!?"
"And a high-level one at that!"
"How could that thin disciple obtain a Purple Blood Zombie!? It's a good thing that he couldnt control it, if he could, I wouldn't be here now.."
"Thank god for this sealed Purple Blood Zombie, such a perfect gift. Once I reach the Purple Blood realm, then I can control this Purple Blood as a puppet." Zhang Yang wanted to hug the Purple Blood, this was the best spoil of battle he has achieved since arriving to this world."
He uses his spiritual sense to scan everything that was stolen from the thin disciple, checking for anymore spiritual marks.
The thin disciple didn't hold many talismans, only twenty and the majority of them were Zombie Repression Talismans at Level 6.
The broken black flag was also taken along, although broken, it still released a dismal feeling. It seemed to be a true evil armament.
"It might not be much but it seems I might have a weapon."
Then he finds two more things, or snuff bottles. Inside one contains several Yin Beads while the other held one single pill inside.
"Pwah! This guy actually delivered more Yin Beads to me. Good Guy!" Zhang Yang laughs wholeheartedly, voicing out his happiness.
The other bottle also smells good, a fragrant medicinal smell that left a good impression on Zhang Yang. But even so, he couldn't take the mysterious pill so leisurely, it could be just like the Zombie Explosion Pill.
"Looks like the spoils of battle are pretty good this time" Zhang Yang nods with a sense of satisfaction as he organizes these items, heading back to the tomb. He traveled this far just so in case the corpse cultivators did plant a spiritual mark, then they would have a distance to uncover. Making his way back to the tomb, his treasures would greatly benefit him later.
