Chapter 44: Rewards of A World Boss

System: You have received 50,000 Experience for defeating the World Boss, Colossal Scarlet Wolf.

System: You have leveled up! [Lv.18Lv.19]

System: You have received 5 Unassigned Stat Points and 2 Skill Points.

Unsurprisingly, the World Boss rewarded a massive amount of Experience. Even without the effects of the Medallion of Growth, killing this monster awarded 25,000 Experience to everyone in the party!

Except for Bastion, everyone else in the party leveled up at least once. Sadly for Bastion, the chasm separating Lv.19 and 20 grew overly vast. Additionally, Kieran could've received an additional 5,000 Experience, but his Well Rested buff had already expired by the time the Boss suffered defeat.

Still, he was satisfied nonetheless. Besides, the party had yet to address the notification that appeared as soon as they killed the Boss.

System: Would you like to announce your feat as the first party to kill a World Boss?

Even though Kieran and his party didn't rush to defeat the boss as frantically as their competition, he still claimed the unique feat only accessible to the first World Boss death. This opportunity primarily relied upon the other parties choosing the wrong route of clearance in all the Beginner Zones.

Most individuals who attempted to fight the World Boss tried to do so with an unreasonably large squad. Even if it was limited to members of their organizations, utilizing hundreds of players was still a foolish endeavor to embark on.

The most frightening aspect of the World Boss fight would be its overinflated Defense. Even the strongest skills readily available to players would inevitably deal minimal to negligible damage after failing to break through the monster's Defenses!

Sadly, not every Beginner Village held legacies to take advantage of because they were in finite supply. What's more, some legacies weren't battle-oriented, so even if it was acquired, they wouldn't provide much assistance as of yet.

Before announcing their feat as the Alliance Leader, Kieran looked toward Bastion. He already understood the ramifications of broadcasting one's accomplishments to the world. It was akin to painting a target on their back.

After all, the announcement linked to a World Feat differed considerably from the one applied to a Beginner Dungeon like the Forest of Beasts.

All continents would come to learn of the feat. However, there were still lesser feats to be claimed in the neighboring regions. Only the World Feat would be robbed by Kieran and his teammates.

"If you want to announce it, by all means, go ahead! I, for one, want those rewards that accompany the announcement. Besides, who's to say the rewards won't change if we aren't brave enough to announce our valor? Hah! I ain't a chicken!" Bastion smirked while crossing his arms.

His shield, at this time, was nowhere to be seen since he unequipped it. It was bafflingly heavy, so he chose to leave it unequipped outside of battle.

Kieran smirked faintly in response. He liked this somewhat fearless attitude. Of course, Bastion wasn't all talk; he had the means to back up his words! Who would want to go against an armored titan with more than 1,000 Health?

More importantly, the innate passive of Bastion's Class reduced the chances of Critical Hits against him. Therefore, it'd be nearly impossible to eat away at Bastion's Health as long as Sera was present with her potent heals.

"Good. What's understood needn't be said," Kieran nodded faintly. Afterward, he swiped his finger, dispelling the unrelated system notifications before accepting the most important one.

Northern Region Announcement -

Congratulations to the party, Alliance, who earned the First Kill of a World Boss in the Northern Region. Their feat will forever be held with glory! This feat was accomplished by Aatrox, Bastion, Alice, Altair, Sera, Cyr, Aspaira, Cygnus, and Sithik! They have been rewarded handsomely for their efforts.

Xenith World Announcement -

Congratulations to the party, Alliance, who earned the First Kill of a World Boss. Their feat will forever be held with glory! This feat was accomplished by Aatrox, Bastion, Alice, Altair, Sera, Cyr, Aspaira, Cygnus, and Sithik! They have been rewarded handsomely for their efforts.

The party name was simply Alliance because neither side belonged to a unique power. So, Kieran chose Alliance to display the true extent of their abilities indirectly. This achievement wasn't accomplished by a party who toiled together to develop charisma; it was a collection of people who recently met each other! This revelation was a testament to their individual ability.

Naturally, this would lead to organizations setting their sights on these few players. But, Kieran had another objective in mindmoney. Suppose he generated enough buzz with Zenith Online before meeting with the Gamer Republic's Advisor? In that case, it could work to his benefit!

As for the rewards, although it wasn't announced to the world to prevent countless powers from targeting them for the wrong reasons, the rewards were truly remarkable!

System: You have received 1 Gold, 10,000 Experience, and 50 World Fame.

System: You have received 2 Gold, 30,000 Experience, Rare Grade Treasure Chest, and 100 World Fame.

This time, everyone, including Kieran and Bastion, were enveloped by a golden radiance. The Experience Reward from both announcements alone almost equaled the World Boss's Experience!

While the others received a grand total of 20,000 Experience, Kieran received 40,000, instantly reaching the requirement to promote his class! Alas, Kieran couldn't do so until he completed his task with the Original Wielder.

Still, Kieran glanced over his stats for the time being.

'80,000 Experience, huh? Those numbers will only grow steeper once we experience the first empowerment of an Intermediate Class,' Kieran thought to himself. After a short while, he closed the menu, choosing to avoid using any of his UAP or SP for the time being.

Additionally, he paid attention to the only unfamiliar term present inside the notification. Whereas the Region Announcement only rewarded Experience, Gold, and World Fame. The World Announcement had an additional rewarda Treasure Chest.

In this case, it was only Rare Grade, but it wasn't something Kieran could ignore.

Rare Grade Treasure Chest (Special Item)

Item Usage: Opening this item has a chance of rewarding an item with a rarity rating of Rare or below. The item received from opening this chest isn't limited to a weapon, armor, or accessory; it can also award unusual items.

Description: A treasure chest with unusual markings that exudes an unnatural presence. The inside, while not spacious, may possess bizarre traits. The origin of the items inside may have ties to places outside of natural areas.

Restriction: One-time usage.

Since this was a probability-based item, Kieran chose to leave it aside for the time being. While there was a chance of it awarding an item of significant use, it could also reward a completely worthless. Therefore, he wouldn't bother with it until he chanced upon opportunities to increase one of his Hidden Attributes.

Regardless, there was still an abundance of loot for the team to sift through.

From what they saw at a glance, there were at least fifteen pieces of loot in the loot pile. Of those fifteen, at least three of them shimmered with a light purple radiance. While others may not be familiar with the grading of items based on their drop radiance, Kieran was.

The color of this glow meant at least three items inside the loot pile were Rare Items. Kieran practically pled inside for one of these rare items to be valuable to him.

After all, the Novice Greatsword was on the verge of shattering. And the hassle of repairing an item was too great for Kieran to go through that issue with a mere Uncommon-Grade weapon.

At the very least, only a Rare Item could receive this type of care from Kieran.

But, before that, Kieran looked towards Bastion. "Should we divvy up the equipment based on need? Additionally, if there's an item of a higher value that is useful to one of the talented members, let's agree to pass along our weaker equipment?"

"That's surprisingly fair," Bastion muttered in slight astonishment.

To surmise Kieran's suggestion, if Alice came across a stronger piece of equipment but her item slot was filled, she could just pass along her current equipment to Aspaira. The same applied to Altair and Cyr, etc.

Naturally, no one in the party had an issue with this. The announcement alone, which distributes more than 1 Gold to each person, was enough compensation. It surpassed the current value any one piece of equipment could generate.

While divvying up the equipment, Kieran came across an item that made his eyes sparkle. It was a greatswordone that was exceptionally strong!
