As I walked through the hall of elements I gained lots of glances and looks. This was due to people finding out that I used the darkness element as well as that I was the successor of my master. What I had gained made a lot of people very jealous, which is understandable I guess.
As I had guessed she would be, my master was inside of the room which she taught me in, it also had become her office as well. Seeing me she smiled, as I was about to speak her face changed into what only could be described as fury. Even the mana around us both started to react to her emotion, so violently.
"Adoh! Why the h.e.l.l would you attempt to do that without telling me? It is dangerous! You could have crippled yourself! Why? Whyy!" Nearer the end her voice cracked as she started to cry, the mana calmed down though.
I let out a sigh of relief at this. Walking closer to her, I knelt down next to her, as I did she fell into my chest, her tears making my clothes damp. Unsure what I should do, I put my arms worldly around her and gave her a hug as well as patted her back, as she cried.
After she stopped crying and cleaned herself up. She looked back at me.
Her voice cracking as she spoke, "So did you make a dual core then?" Nodding my head she then continued. "Stay still, I need to make sure that you haven't damaged your body at all...both of them."
She then moved the mana around me, probing my body with it, feeling satisfied that my physical body was fine. She then brought her hand to my forehead before tapping it gently with her finger. As she did, I felt someone looking at my elemental body. It was odd to put it lightly. After a few minutes I felt the presence withdraw.
She looked at me then smiled. "You did it all right and I sense no damage at all. Not only that you refined your elemental body properly as well. I don't feel any impurities at all, which is very good for your progress in the future. As well as that your core seemed to be impressive."
Glad that she seemed to be fully calm now. I stood off of the floor. "So Master, could you tell me about the elemental body. I am confused about it. It doesn't make sense with what everyone has told me so far."
She gave me a knowing smile, it was like she had been expecting me to answer that question.
"To put it simply, no one knows. But what we do know is that the elemental body which holds your core,is actually separate from your actual body, so they are not connected but it is like your physical body holds the elemental body. This means like you have done, mana pa.s.ses through your body to the elemental one, but can't stay there as it will harm you."
Honestly her explanation didn't make much sense at all. It seemed like she was telling me the opposite of what I had already been told, but what I did get was that my normal body is a vessel for an elemental body. This in itself makes no sense to me at all.
"Now as I hear, you have to show the Arch mage that you have reached this level so that you can enter the tower. Hehehe." She then chuckled slightly. "Well at least joi the compet.i.tion for a slot to enter the tower."
She then led me out of the room, sending me on my way to the Arch mage. I left the hall and walked towards the tower. As I did I couldn't help but look at the tower itself. It was ma.s.sive. The whote blocks of stone that made it, looked pristine as they always did. It was like nothing could change the colour of them at all. Jokingly, I thought, 'If I came back here in a thousand years the tower will still look the exact same.'
As I got closer, I could see the runes on the tower flickering. I entered the tower, through a ma.s.sive open door way. As I crossed the threshold I felt a wave of heat blast into my face. The outside cool air, disappearing completely.
Heading towards the Arch mage's office, I found no one around as I walked.
The Arch mage's office had the least obvious door it could have ever had. Knocking a few times, I heard a loud yell to enter. As I did, I saw him standing near the window sending what only could be described as beams of light into the sky.
"Ah Adoh, it seems that you have done with our deal already. Seems like you are just as good as what your talent says you are. Any way as promised you can join the compet.i.tion in a few weeks. Oh, its spells only. So you will not be able to use that sword of yours."
Once he said that he went back, sending beams of light at the sky. Taking that as I should go. I turned around and left. Not sure what I should do with the rest of my day I headed to the meditation hall. I wanted to see how quickly I really could see the fire and darkness mana and manipulate it.
The hall was surprisingly empty. This meant that there was no one around the best spots. Walking up to them, I could feel already that it was better here than where I normally sit. As I reached one of the points that could be used to meditate`. It felt exhilarating. I could almost feel the mana around me with my fingers. It was that dense. Sitting down. As soon as I focused a little bit, I saw so much red and black around me instantly. I reached out with my hand and it was like water as I waved my hand through it. The mana all moved away in ripples.
It was an amazing feeling and sight. I thought quickly of some basic spells. First I tried to make flames, I did it in seconds and it was powerful. Much more than usual. This is due to the sure abundance of mana I guess. Then I made a dark bolt. It appeared and flew at a high speed, cras.h.i.+ng into the wall, though it did no damage at all.
'The walls are strong in here it seems.'
Hearing people come in, I stood up and walked out of the hall. I decided that I would find Lars and tell him about my success as well as Alyx. It took me a few minutes to find them. In the end they were on one of the practice fields casting some spells, some were insanely powerful. Lars was using winds spells, so he was mainly using different kinds of winds blades. Alyx was a fire user, who focused on destruction by the looks of it. As his path suggests, his spells were destructive. All of the spells he used attacked a wide area, this would make him talented at group combat, but not so strong in single combat.
Seeing me, they both smiled and came up to me.
