Chapter 159 - It’s My Fault, Boss!

Chapter 159: It’s My Fault, Boss!

The restaurant owner was pointing a gun at Locke.

After a long waiting period, a group of thugs with baseball bats and colorful hair rushed in!

“Beat him up! Also, find out which restaurant’s he’s from! We’ll smash up that restaurant tomorrow!” The restaurant owner raised his voice upon spotting the thugs.

The thugs were unable to sense the presence of Battle Beasts.

As such, not a single one of them had noticed the two-headed snake behind them.

Following that, a cacophony of miserable screams could be heard.

“AH… !”

“A snake!”

“Help… !”

Locke did not kill them, he had only broken their bones. After all, his goal was only to intimidate them.

While looking at his subordinates wailing on the floor…

The restaurant owner realized that Locke was a Beastmaster.

He was scared out of his wits, and his body refused to obey his will. He could not bring himself to pull the trigger.

While trembling, he shouted, “JUST YOU WAIT! My boss will be here soon! He knows very powerful Beastmasters! You’re asking for an early death, I tell you…”

Locke nodded. “Perfect! He’ll know the origin of this ketchup then…”

After saying that, Locke stepped on the thugs’ bodies and reclined on the sofa.

“Who is it? Who’s the b*stard that is causing trouble to this restaurant!?”

An arrogant voice sounded from outside the door.

Seeing that his boss had arrived, the restaurant owner immediately ran to the door to welcome him. “Boss! You’re finally here? This guy is a Beastmaster! Quickly call for help! You’re on good terms with that Locke person, right?”

The moment Locke heard the restaurant owner’s words, he could roughly guess who the arrogant-sounding person was.

A short, fat guy in a dark green suit entered with a few burly thugs behind him. As soon as he entered, he cursed, “Find the b*stard and break his legs for me!”

“The b*stard is waiting right here…”

Upon hearing the familiar voice, a bead of sweat instantly appeared on the plump man’s forehead.

“Hmph! Kid! Don’t blame us! It’s our boss’ order!” The thugs in suits clenched their fists and walked towards Locke.

Locke looked at them with a smile.

“You still dare to laugh!? B*stard!” The restaurant owner exclaimed.

However, a slap was gradually approaching his face…

Slap!

“Shut up! You b*stard!”

The force of the slap was so strong that it made the restaurant owner collapse onto the ground.

Then, Dickens ran faster than he had ever run before in his life!

He pushed away the thugs in suits and immediately knelt in front of Locke.

“Boss… Boss… It’s a misunderstanding! It’s my fault, please don’t be angry…”

The methods that Locke had displayed previously were extremely cold!

He was certain that Locke would kill him for his grave error!

As such, Dickens dared not talk his way out of it. Instead, he hoped that his honesty would spare him his life!

He closed his eyes tightly, and he trembled non-stop as he waited for Locke’s judgment!

Everything had taken place in just a few seconds.

The others present were all dumbfounded!

They did not know what kind of powerful figure the young man sitting on the sofa was. After all, he was able to scare the boss of the Holy City’s underground out of his wits!

However, as they were familiar with the underground’s customs…

Everyone, including the restaurant owner and the injured thugs immediately followed Dickens’ lead and knelt down!

‘Just who on earth is he?’ The sweat of the restaurant owner had already soaked his shirt.

“It’s alright, Dickens. I didn’t expect you to expand your influence this quickly though. To think that you’ve already made this street your own. Hmm, just make sure to tell your subordinates not to point their guns at me.” Locke’s tone was calm.

Upon hearing Locke’s calm voice, Dickens could feel the weight of the world being lifted from his shoulders!

He immediately stood up, took out a gun, turned around, and pulled the restaurant owner forward.

“Boss! Just give the word and I’ll shoot him right now!” Dickens loaded the pistol and pointed at the back of the restaurant owner’s head, who was kneeling on the ground.

Locke looked at the restaurant owner who was about to faint from fright and said, “Forget it, this place is quite clean. If I had known earlier, I would have called you directly to ask you, to avoid all this trouble…”

“Quick! Everyone apologize to Mr. Locke! Do it if you want to live!”

Everyone’s eyes widened. They had never expected that the young man sitting on the sofa to be the “Number One Beastmaster of the Holy City”, Locke!

‘Isn’t he the one who killed over 200 powerhouses in a single move?’

‘He’ll send us to our makers with just a single move!’

‘We shouldn’t mess around!’

As they did not study much and their educational level was limited, the thugs constantly kowtowed to Locke.

Locke sighed and said, “Alright! I still have business to attend to! Everyone, leave! However, the restaurant owner stays!”

“Do you guys not hear Mr. Locke’s words? Those who are unrelated, get out!” Dickens returned to his usual demeanor and stood beside Locke like a secretary.

“Mr. Locke! This is the best brandy in this restaurant…” The restaurant owner dared not stand up as he handed Locke a bottle of alcohol.

“Boss! Please don’t be angry. These guys come from other places. Our business has been developing too quickly lately and we are too short-handed. This guy ran a restaurant in Fire City, and thus, I saw it fit to make him in charge of this restaurant..”

Dickens said with an embarrassed look.

Locke took the bottle of brandy and ignored Dickens’ statement. Instead, he asked, “What’s with the ketchup in this restaurant? Don’t you find it strange?”

“What ketchup? Oh… It’s the one that we started selling ten days ago, right? To tell you the truth, boss! I like it too! I even brought a few bottles of it home for my daughter. She seems to like it quite a lot!”

Locke frowned and said, “Where did you get it from?”

Upon noticing Locke’s murderous expression, Dickens immediately zipped up. However, as he was not the one who brought it in, he ordered the restaurant owner, “Answer Mr. Locke’s question! If you miss out a single detail, I’ll send you to your maker!”

After nodding repeatedly, the restaurant owner answered, “Around ten days ago, our suppliers sent it over. They claimed that it was a reward for the guests.”

“I didn’t take it seriously. I just asked the manager to put it on the table and let the customers eat it for free. After two days, the customers seemed to have gone crazy, and they lined up at the entrance of the restaurant every day just to eat this ketchup!”

“Beastmasters are especially fond of it! Don’t even get me started on how much they like it! They’re always begging for more!” Locke gestured for the restaurant owner to stand up. Once he had got back to his feet, the restaurant owner continued, “Due to their popularity, our stock was sold out within just four or five days. As such, I immediately ordered them again from our supplier…”
