Lei Jun retorted, “If it wasn’t Xu Ya Si, how did you manage to deactivate the Formation?”

“Deactivate the Formation?” Duan Ling Tian laughed, “Who said I deactivated the Formation? Brother Pei and the other t.i.tled Celestial Emperors broke the Formation!”

“Impossible!” the elder cried out upon hearing Duan Ling Tian’s words. He shook his head and said, “The Formation is special. If they could have broken it, they would’ve broken it a long time ago. Why would they wait until now?”

Duan Ling Tian replied indifferently, “I taught them the way to break the Formation.”

“You?” The elder narrowed his eyes and his expression darkened as he said threateningly, “Duan Ling Tian, even if you manage to escape now, do you know you’ll be hunted down by the Heavenly Pool Palace for what you’ve done? The Heavenly Pool Palace has the support of the Heavenly Emperor of the Boundless Heaven. Moreover, the Heavenly Emperor was the one who personally captured Pei Yuan Ji and imprisoned him here. He’ll be furious when he finds out that you set him free! He’ll definitely kill you for this!”

After the elder finished speaking, Xuan Bing, the Profound Ice Celestial Emperor, scoffed. In just an instant, a freezing energy swept through the entire first floor.

Lei Jun’s expression changed dramatically as he watched the elder die in just a blink of an eye. His voice trembled as he said, “M-my… My m-mother is Lei Ying, the Merciless Celestial Emperor! You… Y-you can’t k-kill me…”

Faced with death, the usually arrogant Lei Jun was as timid as a mouse.

Duan Ling Tian looked at Lei Jun and sneered. “Lei Jun. Do you know why I released them?”

Lei Jun glanced at Pei Yuan Ji and the other t.i.tled Celestial Emperors fearfully before he s.h.i.+fted his gaze to Duan Ling Tian. A hint of confusion could be seen in his eyes.

As soon as Duan Ling Tian finished speaking, Lian Qiu descended from the second floor with a white Phantom Fox in his arm.

“It’s them?” A bewildered expression appeared on Lei Jun’s face immediately.

“There’s another thing I want to tell you… Huan’er and I only joined the Heavenly Pool Palace to save her parents…” Duan Ling Tian said.

“How dare you! You joined the Heavenly Pool Palace with ulterior motives!” Lei Jun’s expression soured immediately. He did not expect his junior sister and the purple-clad young man in front of him had only joined the Heavenly Pool Palace to rescue the prisoners here.

A hint of disbelief could be seen in his eyes when he had a closer look at Lian Qiu and the white Phantom Fox in his arms. “A Phantom Fox? He’s Lian Qiu? The proud prodigy of the Heavenly Sword Mountain who annulled the marriage alliance with the daughter of our Palace Master? Junior Sister Huan’er is their daughter?”

“Elder Brother Pei, seniors…” Duan Ling Tian called out to Pei Yuan Ji and the others before he continued to say, “Lei Jun and I have unresolved enmity between us. Is it okay if we leave after I settle the grudge between us?”

“Sure. Take your time.” Pei Yuan Ji smiled faintly. “After all, no one knows what’s happening in here now due to the Formations. We can leave when you’re done.”

The prison had incredibly high security due to the Formations that noise and all forms of communication were completely cut off. Therefore, those outside of the prison would not know what was going on inside unless they entered the prison.

Hints of curiosity could be seen in the eyes of the other t.i.tled Celestial Emperors and Lian Qiu as they looked at Duan Ling Tian. They were all curious about Duan Ling Tian’s strength.

On the other hand, Lei Jun’s expression turned fearful upon hearing Duan Ling Tian’s words. “Duan Ling Tian, is there a misunderstanding? How is there any enmity between us?”

Celestial Origin Energy surged out of Duan Ling Tian’s body as soon as he finished speaking.

Lei Jun’s face turned ashen, and he fell to his knees immediately. “Duan Ling Tian, I was wrong! I shouldn’t have coveted Junior Sister Huan’er. Please don’t kill me. You… You can use me as a hostage so my mother won’t intervene when you escape! Please! I beg you!”

Upon hearing Lei Jun’s words, Duan Ling Tian could not help but laugh again. “Your mother? It doesn’t matter if your mother intervenes or not. The outcome will remain the same.
