Chapter 131: .Lostin the Sky (ll)

[Today, Justin Frank's new song was going to be released here, but just an hour ago, he got into an accident. He's safe, but the program is unfortunately cancelled. But we have arranged something else for you. You must know Aiden Silvereye, he just finished his interview with Hector Burn a while ago. He's going to sing his new song, 'Lost in the sky'.]

A couple looked at each other weirdly as soon as they heard those words coming out of the radio. Currently, both of them were on a drive and had remembered that Justin Frank was going to be releasing his song on Red Ant FM today.

Both of them were big fans of him, so they decided to listen to it but hearing those unexpected words, they were quite surprised.

"Let me check the internet. I'm pretty sure I will find something on Justin's condition." The girl said, taking out her phone and looking up Justin Frank.

He was already trending on Sparrow, and it seemed like the news about his accident had spread like a forest fire. Tags like 'Justin Frank', 'Accident' and 'Hospital' were at the top spots.

The girl quickly checked it and found out that Justin Frank was really safe and it was only his manager who had gotten injured.

"He's safe. His van apparently got stuck by another car whose brake failed. No one got seriously injured, so it's a minor accident."

The girl said, taking a sigh of relief.

"It's good that he's fine, but it's kind of a bummer that we won't be able to hear his new song today. Let me change the radio channel."

The guy said, putting one of his hands away from the steering wheel and trying to change the channel, but at that moment, he heard the melody coming out of the speakers.

His hands stopped in midair, and in the next second, lyrics came out.

"Please tell me if this is an illusion."

"Why am I still finding the reason?"

"Oh, am I just searching for something that isn't there?"

"Reaching my hand out to nowhere."

The guy's eyes widened a bit as he heard the first verse. He felt a certain kind of vulnerability that the voice seemed to reflect. The lyrics thoroughly matched it.

He felt like he was listening to something different after a long time.

"Let's not change the channel. This song is good."

The guy said, turning to look at his girlfriend, who nodded her head. She also felt that the song was truly good. The melody coming out from the guitar had a sad tone to it, but it wasn't completely sorrowful.

It was like someone had written the song after facing a failure, but in his heart, he was still a bit hopeful that someday, he would succeed.

'This song is really very good.'

She thought in her mind and looked outside the window. Sun was high up in the sky, giving her a warm, fuzzy feeling.

That day, the couple who were fans of Justin Frank became fans of Aiden Silvereye.

"Take my hand, let's go find ourselves in the dark."

"Running away from the sharks."

"Oh, who am I?"

"Just dust flying lost in the sky."

"Trying to fly high with the fear of falling driving me mad."

An old man was sitting in his study room, and there was an astonished expression on his face as he stared at the song coming out from the radio that was set up next to his work desk.

The old man was a writer, and he had a habit of listening to songs on the radio while writing down his novels. It was a habit that he had kept for decades now.

There was just something fun about discovering new songs for him on the radio.

Songs that might give him inspiration.

That's why he still owned one of the most antique versions of a radio. Today, he was struggling to come up with words, so he decided to listen to what was playing on the radio.

Thanks to his luck, just the first song he came across was Aiden's and listening to it, he couldn't help but stop writing for a minute to stare at the radio in pure astonishment.

It was because the song was giving him a feeling that he had not felt in so long.

As a writer, he was clearly able to feel the meaning behind the words. The songwriter was clearly writing it from his own experiences as the song was both asking questions and answering them while, at the same time, questioning the worth of humanity itself.

The line 'Just dust flying, lost in the sky' symbolised exactly that.

An existential crisis.

At the same time, the old writer guessed that it also was telling people to be humble as in the end, under the vast sky, people were nothing more than dust.

So instead of being arrogant and bragging about things they had, it was better to stay humble.

"I am loving this song. The lyrics are so good."

The old writer muttered as the next verse after the chorus came up.

"Maybe, all the doubts are true."

"But I believe I will make it through."

"Maybe, I'm just reading the page with lots of sorrow."

"So, let's turn the chapter up, trying to reach a better tomorrow."

Hearing those lines, the old writer couldn't help but lean against his chair a bit, straightening his posture and just closing his eyes, trying to thoroughly enjoy the song before it ended.

The song reminded him of so many things, like the time when publishers had rejected his romance novel more than 20 times.

That had made him question his skills and just give up on everything. It was truly a very hard time for him.

At that time, he had consoled himself by saying the same words.

'It's just a bad chapter of the book called life. Good ones are surely coming soon.'

That had helped him stay sane and try to push more. In the end, he succeeded and managed to become a successful writer.

His overnight success had taken him years of failure.

The song reminded him just of that, and even if the song had an overall sad and fragile feeling to it, it was making the old writer feel good thinking of the fact that he hadn't given up on himself at that time.

"The announcer said that the singer is Aiden Silvereye, right? I really want to meet him now."

Muttering that, the old writer took out his phone and opened up Skygram. His granddaughter had taught him how to use it.

Grinning, he searched up Aiden Silvereye and followed him.

That day, Aiden got all sorts of fans.

'He's so good.'

That was the thought inside Hector Burn's mind as Aiden sang inside the booth. Not only him, everyone in the room either had their eyes widened, or their jaws were dropped listening to Aiden.

Even Wade had an impressed expression on his face.

Everyone knew that Aiden was good.

He had good songs in the past. He was a great composer but the song he was singing at that moment was something completely different.

It was making Hector feel like the strings in his heart were getting affected by the emotions coming from Aiden's music, making him remember all sorts of things.

He felt like he just wanted to close himself in a room and just listen to the song all day, not wanting to get disturbed by anyone.

"Ooh-ooh-ohh."

In the booth, Aiden was currently humming as he enjoyed himself. In his eyes, the whole room was already filled with sparkling, silver light.

His notes were affecting everyone that was listening to the song, having an effect even greater than when he had sung in during the shooting.

He knew that this was partly because of the boost on the song that he had gotten later on, but he was nevertheless very happy about the reaction.

"There will be times when you will find yourself crying."

"Calling out different names."

"Don't give up on that time as times will pass."

"And only the happy memories are gonna last."

He sang the next verse with a lot of emphasis on each word. The tone of the guitar was still the same, but there was a little brightness to it, like a single candle illuminating the whole dark room.

His voice was also bright as he was singing the parts of the song where Arthur had found the answers and was more confident in himself, trying to see the brighter aspect of life too.

That's why there was a lot of humming involved in this part.

"So, take my hand, let's go find ourselves in the dark."

"Running away from the sharks."

"Oh, who am I?"

"Just dust flying lost in the sky."

"Trying to fly high with the fear of falling driving me mad."

The silver light intensified as he again sang the chorus. This time, the chorus was bright, not sounding depressed.

The vulnerability, fragility and softness were slowly leaving the song as it transformed to give the listeners a happy end to a sad song.

That was the whole point of 'Lost in the sky' for Aiden, and everyone listening to the song could see that he had really nailed it.

Though Aiden only had a little idea currently, 'Lost in the sky' was being played in most of the cars travelling in America at the moment.

It has truly made everyone lose themselves in it.
