Chapter 416: You Will Be Standing Beside Wei Qian

Ming Yeqing even roasted them that they were missing the whole point of watching horror movies.

He could not understand why they would force themselves to watch them despite being afraid.

Little did the Tan family members know that Tan Mo had changed her surname while away from home.

“The person next to me is my uncle, Wei Qian.” She deliberately introduced Wei Zhiqian without the ‘Zhi’ part. Otherwise, it would raise others’ suspicion as to why their surnames were different. She would then need to go through the ha.s.sle of making up a story for the explanation.

“Ladies and gentlemen, this way, please.” A male staff member guided them to the entrance.

“For starters, please allow me to fill you in on the precautions. First and foremost, please do not have any physical contact with our employees. There were instances in which some customers. .h.i.t our people out of terror or distress. Please be mindful that not all of our scare actors are males. There are female staff members among them as well, so they can’t handle being beaten. Additionally, some dauntless customers might try to touch our scare actors’ costumes. We hereby request your cooperation to refrain yourselves from doing so. In conclusion, under no circ.u.mstance should you have any body contact with our crew members.

“The time limit for the game is one hour. When the time is up, our staff will guide you out of the room, even if you still can’t clear the game,” the male employee explained.

“If there’s anyone who wants to give up while the game is still in progress, you may press the buzzer on the wristband that I handed to you earlier. After which, our crew members will bring you out of this place. So just chill and enjoy yourself. Don’t be stressed out. You can always leave the game if you can’t take it anymore, so there’s nothing to be worried about.”

Yu Xiaonan and Zhou Jieyu paid no heed to the staff member while he was doing the explanation.

They were texting each other through WeChat.

Yu Xiaonan wrote, “Jieyu, I need you to work with me once we’re inside. Please hold Wei Mo back when the scare actors ambush us. Meanwhile, I’ll grab the chance to launch myself into Wei Qian’s embrace.”

Without hesitation, Zhou Jieyu replied, “Got it.”

Yu Xiaonan responded, “Well, it’s not like we’re s.n.a.t.c.hing her protector from her anyway. We just need to let another person do the job.”

Zhou Jieyu replied, “Don’t sweat it. Just go and give it your best shot with Wei Qian. I’ll be playing the kind-hearted big sister character and stay by Wei Mo’s side later. Surely, she’ll not be afraid. Even if she does, I’ll be there to watch over her. I’ll make sure that she doesn’t find Wei Qian. You may leave it to me.”

Zhou Jieyu wrote back, “Once we’re in, I’ll think of a way to attract her attention and get her to come to me. Then, the person standing beside Wei Qian will be you.”

With that, Yu Xiaonan flashed Zhou Jieyu a feverish grin as she replied, “Hooray! That’s brilliant!”

The staff member noticed that Yu Xiaonan and Zhou Jieyu did not listen to his explanation, but he did not bring up the matter.

After explaining the precautions, he continued to narrate the background story of the game.

Needless to say, the purpose was to set off the atmosphere and help the players better immerse themselves into the game.

This helped heighten the mood once they entered the room.

“OMG! That’s so scary.” s.h.i.+ Zhixia, the female counterpart of the couple, hugged her boyfriend’s arm.

Meanwhile, Fang Shuyang, one of the two guys, smiled at Yu Xiaonan and Zhou Jieyu and commented, “You gals are a pair of daredevils if I do say so myself. To think that you would challenge the scariest theme among all escape games without any man accompanying you. That’s really something else.”

“Well, I, for one, am a coward. But my curiosity got the better of me. Teehee.” Yu Xiaonan chuckled. “I only picked this game since Jieyu, the fearless one, is coming with me.”

“You don’t say! How bold is she?” Xin Kaiqi asked.

“Do you know all those blockbuster horror movies? Jieyu had already watched them all,” Yu Xiaonan replied. “Furthermore, she would watch the entire movie without averting her gaze from it. She did it without letting out even one screech. How was that?

“She wasn’t even spooked by the characters with high-quality makeup and the state-of-the-art movie effects, so I doubt if the scare actors with their costumes and makeup can even affect her. It’s unthinkable that theirs could be more realistic than the ones in the movies,” Yu Xiaonan commented.

“Whoa! That’s bada.s.s! To be honest, we are frightened when we watch horror movies,” Fang Shuyang responded.

s.h.i.+ Zhixia was doing pretty well since she had her boyfriend to look after her. Besides, her sense of security was further enhanced by having an arm to hug constantly.

Right then, Zhou Jieyu said to Tan Mo, “Wei Mo, don’t be afraid. I’ll keep you safe.”
