Chapter 340: Tan Mo Reacts

The women had decided that they would risk everything and ask Wei Zhiqian for his contact information.

However, on the other hand, the men were wary of asking Tan Mo for hers.

There was no way they would dare to after hearing that the man next to Tan Mo was her uncle.

It would be bad luck to ask a lady for her number in front of her parents or older relatives.

All they could do was pray to G.o.d that the ladies would be separated from the men so that they could quickly take the chance to ask for their numbers in private.

Back at the table, Wei Zhiqian and his companions had already started grilling their food.

Since Wei Zhiqian was afraid that Tan Mo would get smoky if she grilled the meat in front of her, despite the restaurant having a good ventilation system, he moved all of her meat to his side and helped grill it for her.

Ming Yeqing could not help but raise his eyebrows when he saw that.

There had always been talk about Wei Zhiqian being an emotionless person who didn’t know how to take care of women.

There were also rumors that he ignored any woman who tried to flirt with him. Even when one would ask if they could share a table with him in a restaurant or some such thing, whatever the reason, he would always refuse them.

Yet from what Ming Yeqing was seeing at the moment, he concluded that those were just rumors.

Next to Ming Yeqing, Qin Muye was staring at Tan Mo jealously.

When she turned back with a deep sigh, she noticed the food she had been grilling was all gone.

It took her a second to realize that Ming Yeqing had moved all of her food to his side.

“I’ll help you grill these.” Ming Yeqing smiled at her when he saw her looking at him. “At least there won’t be any smoke on your side too.”

Qin Muye beamed happily at the fact that there was someone willing to help her grill her food as well.

Most of the food on their grills was seafood, ranging from scallops to oysters.

All the scallops had a layer of cheese on top of them. As the heat slowly penetrated the sh.e.l.ls, the cheese began to bubble and turn golden brown.

As for the clams, they were thrown straight onto the grill without adding any seasoning to them to preserve their umami. The clams slowly opened their sh.e.l.ls as they began to cook.

As for the oysters, they were seasoned with garlic oil.

As the oysters cooked, the raw bitterness of the garlic would get cooked away, and its aroma would seep into the oyster meat itself, leaving a sweet aftertaste instead of the usual pungent garlic taste.

Since the scallops were big, Wei Zhiqian cut them into four pieces so that Tan Mo could fit them into her mouth easily.

As soon as the seafood was cooked, Wei Zhiqian picked it up with a pair of tongs and set them down on Tan Mo’s plate.

Tan Mo picked up a piece of the scallop meat, which had been cut into the perfect size by Wei Zhiqian, and wrapped cheese around it so that every corner was covered.

She then blew at the scallop meat to cool it down a little as the cheese was scorching hot.

As Tan Mo blew, her chin would puff up and down with every breath. Wei Zhiqian couldn’t stop himself from making a blowing motion with his mouth when he saw that.

Tan Mo’s lips began to glow as the steam from the scallops. .h.i.t them. It was as if her lips were two big soft puddings that people would want to poke and see if they were soft or not.

Once Tan Mo thought that the cheese was cool enough to eat, she quickly put the scallop into her mouth as she didn’t want to cool the scallop meat down too much. The only right way to eat scallops was when they were still hot.

The cheese began to drip as she guided the scallop into her mouth, and she tried her best to get all the cheese into her mouth as well. She made it look like she was eating noodles instead.

The best ingredient to pair with scallop would always be cheese, as its saltiness could intensify the umami of the scallop.

After Tan Mo finished her scallops, Wei Zhiqian then placed a piece of skewered meat onto her plate.

As they continued to enjoy their meal, four ladies suddenly stopped by their table.

At first, Wei Zhiqian did not notice them.

Neither did Ming Yeqing as he was helping Qin Muye peel prawns.

The four ladies stood there for a whole minute, surprised by the fact that Wei Zhiqian and his companions did not have any reaction after they had stood waiting for so long.

The lady on the far left was the first to open her mouth, “Excuse me…”

Tan Mo, who was still holding the skewer that Wei Zhiqian had just given her, raised her head to look at the lady.

“h.e.l.lo?” The lady on the far left greeted them once again when Wei Zhiqian still did not show her any reaction. Since she was standing next to Wei Zhiqian, she thought that he didn’t realize she was talking to him.

She reached out her hand out to poke Wei Zhiqian’s arm.

This lady was the one who had said that she wanted to take Wei Zhiqian’s s.h.i.+rt off not long ago.

She never thought she would actually get the chance that she had been dreaming of. Even though taking Wei Zhiqian’s s.h.i.+rt off was

literally impossible, she would be happy if she was able to even touch his arm as his arms looked well-defined and muscular.

The lady even noticed the veins on his arm when he cut the scallop meat into pieces with a pair of scissors.

However, rather than his arms, she was mostly attracted by his mature look. It wasn’t something she could find in her school.

In her eyes, his attractiveness was something that could make any woman want to run into his arms.

The lady’s movement was very sudden and very fast.

Both Ming Yeqing and Qin Muye could not believe that she actually had had the guts to try and poke Wei Zhiqian. Before they could even do anything, her finger was only an inch away from Wei Zhiqian’s arm.

Yet, before the lady’s finger could even reach her target, her hand was poked by a skewer.

Just like her sudden movement, the skewer also came out of nowhere.

She could not react to it.

She didn’t even notice when and where the skewer came from.

When she finally reacted to it, her hand was already smudged with the sauces from the skewered meat.

OUCH! The lady screamed and she pulled her hand back, disgusted at the oily seasoning that was smudged onto her hand from the leftovers on the skewer.

When she took a look at the skewer again, she realized that the meat was already half-eaten, meaning that the sauce had saliva in it as well.

The lady wanted to quickly wipe her hand clean, but there was no place that she could do that.

As she was looking around for something to wipe her hand on, she finally noticed that Tan Mo was the one holding the skewer.

“What the h*ll do you think you are doing?” the lady scolded Tan Mo.

“I would like to ask you the same question. Why are you trying to touch my uncle without his permission?” Tan Mo grunted furiously at the lady who was trying to put the blame on her.

Fortunately, she had been able to react fast enough to stop the lady from touching Wei Zhiqian.
