Forces with National Guardians holding the fort and the other forces were of totally different orders of magnitude.
The Min Province was never a strong province when it came to cultivation. There were no other noteworthy cultivator forces to speak of other than the Southern Shaolin Temple.
Be it the Chen Clan or the Seven Invincible Sect, they were not even a Martial Arts Legend among them, at the moment.
Their claims of wanting to reign supreme all over the province were little more than boasts since there was no one else bothering to put them in their place.
If the Soul-snatcher Sect were to actually invade, those two forces would have crumbled right away. Until the Special Task Force mobilized formidable fighters from the headquarters, there would be no way for them to win against that sect.
If something like that were to indeed happen, then things would undoubtedly be difficult for the Special Task Forces of the Min Province from then on out.
But then again, despite Yun Sheng’s best efforts in making Lu Xuan as huge as he was able to, he still ended up underestimating what Lu Xuan was capable of.
That young man had been more than just a National Guardian.
One National Guardian alone would be enough to throw their weight all over the world of cultivators in the province, yet Lu Xuan’s powers were above even that. He was quite literally invincible in all of the region.
But then again, how powerful Lu Xuan was hardly mattered to Yun Sheng personally. Be it at the National Guardian level or above, he still would have been able to end Yun Sheng with just a single move all the same.
A being like Lu Xuan was like a stabilizer that put the entire world of cultivation in the province into order. Despite not having taken up the position of consultant of the Fu City branch for long, he had already wrecked the schemes of the Flying Dragon Sect and the Soul-snatcher Sect to invade the Min Province.
It was especially so, given how Lu Xuan was apparently on the side of the Special Task Force. They could not have asked for anything better.
“And this would be?” Yun Sheng pulled back his thoughts and took a look at Shi Danze, who stood at Ling Huang’s side.
He sensed an extremely great threat from Shi Danze.
His current cultivation level meant that there was only one possibility when that other man posed a threat to him—that man was a Martial Arts Legend as well.
He was rather puzzled since when there was yet another such figure in the province.
Such figures would have usually been found among the Special Task Force’s records.
“This is Mr. Shi Danze, a follower of Mr. Lu,” Ling Huang introduced the man.
“A follower of Mr. Lu!”
Yun Sheng then thought the situation was rather normal after hearing that the man was connected to Lu Xuan somehow.
Lu Xuan’s cultivation level was such that it was entirely within reason to have someone like that serving him.
He saw it fit not to probe any further, seeing how that man was related to Lu Xuan.
Someone who looked quite capable walked up to them and took a look at the place.
“Chief.” The staff from the Special Task Force, who were cleaning up the site, all bowed and paid their respects.
“Chief.” Yun Sheng and the Square-faced Fatso greeted her as well.
She was none other than Ming Yueyao—the Provincial Chief of the Min Province’s Special Task Force.
“President Ling, I’m the Chief of the Min Province’s Special Task Force, Ming Yueyao,” Ming Yueyao went up and greeted him.
“Chief Ming, well met. Well met indeed,” Ling Huang greeted her in return.
Ming Yueyao took the report from the fatso right away after greeting Ling Huang.
When she saw three National Guardians and several Martial Arts Legends listed among the body count, as well as a great number of Baodan Grandmasters and HuaJin Masters, her eyebrows raised in utter shock.
It was just how it was with Yun Sheng when it came to how she felt about things. She had done her best to think highly of Lu Xuan’s capabilities, yet he still managed to exceed her expectations by leaps and bounds.
That was utterly terrifying.
If such a person were to stand against the Special Task Force, that person would probably be able to reign supreme over the entire country.
But then again, having seen more and knowing more than Yun Sheng, she was immediately able to tell that Lu Xuan’s powers had probably reached Level Eight Deity.
Despite having a formidable state of mind, she had to admit that the shock Lu Xuan gave her was far beyond anyone else she had encountered so far.
If he were to truly be at Deity level, then Lu Xuan’s evaluation would no longer be enough. A lone National Guardian would be able to topple a small nation, and a Deity would have been more than enough to attract the attention of world authorities.
“So, Mr. Lu said that he was going to raze the Soul-snatcher Sect?” Ming Yueyao asked.
“That was what Mr. Lu said.” Ling Huang nodded.
Ming Yueyao was feeling very complicated at the moment. She was still shocked about just how terrifying Lu Xuan was, yet that sect was undoubtedly a major thorn in the Special Task Force’s side.
She heard of how that sect did things, but it was difficult for the Special Task Force to keep the peace both inside and out of the country. They were too severely short-staffed to have anyone take out that sect.
It was great news to them that Lu Xuan was on his way to take on the Soul-snatcher Sect personally.
Things would clear up considerably in the southwest if he were to be able to annihilate one such cancer down there.
“Notify our guys over there. Tell them to help Mr. Lu clean up the place.”
Ming Yueyao made her decision right there and then.
Hundreds gathered at the foot of a mountain caught in the clouds in Dian Province at the very next morning. All of them looked rather dusty, and it was obvious that they had been traveling to the foot of that mountain throughout the night.
All of those people were either dressed for combat or wearing some weird attire of old. Every single one of them appeared intimidating.
Despite having traveled for one whole night, none of them showed any signs of weariness.
They all looked rather excited instead.
All of those people were cultivators from all walks of life from the southwest, who got there as soon as they caught wind of the news. Some were pure warriors, some were Tame Head Sorcerers, and there were also Taoist Priests dressed in Taoist robes.
Anyone from the outside world would have thought a cosplay event was being held if they saw such a gathering.
However, any cultivator from the southwest would have been shaken to the core if they saw such a massive gathering. Even the weakest among the bunch were renowned cultivators in the region, after all.
They would have, at the very least, HuaJin Masters who had their own martial arts centers.
“It’s quite a shock to see that so many have heard the news and traveled through the night to get here. I thought I just saw someone earlier. That guy clad in black is probably the Tame Head Sorcerer known as the Viper King. I’ve heard things about him before. It’s said that he studied under the Crimson Dragon King in Southeast Asia and was quite renowned among the countries down there. He had only returned to Huaxia after getting on the bad side of some Southeast Asian big shots.”
“That’s not all. See that limp monk over there? He’s no joke as well. I heard that he practiced Hinayana Buddhism, which is different from the ones here as they do not forbid killing. His Vajra Demon-slayer Hand skill is something to be wary of.”
Someone pointed in the monk who walked with a limp and was dressed in a tattered kasaya.
“And that skinny Taoist Priest over there, if I’m not mistaken, is probably Priest Qing Yunzi from the Qingyang Temple.”
More and more people showed up, and many were getting increasingly shocked. Many in the group were recognized, and it was easy to tell that all of them were top-notch fighters known throughout the southwest.
Every single one of them was a National Guardian level being, and all had been renowned for years. They were hardly seen in one place due to being practitioners from different locations, although they all maintained an esteemed status among local cultivators.
Yet, all of them gathered in one place since they had all heard the news.
