I looked around and saw Ronnie come out of one of the doors and waved me over. She looks rather tied so I knew I need to not ask too many questions.
"Gray." She called as she held the door open for me.
The case was working on Ronnie, she looked paled and her aura was fading. Changing from yellow to greenish brown, it made me wonder a little about her new boyfriend or was it someone else behind it all.
"So?" I said, "Just give it to me or I can't do anything. I'm not a mind reader or a seer. You need to start talking."
"I have no idea who she is and they need a relative to sign the papers," Ronnie said with a grimace. "We did everything, run her prints and got nothing. The guys downtown are running her face through the missing person's database and so far we got nothing at all."
"There is more?"
"No one at the hotel knew anything even when she enters, she wasn't on any camera. The staffs have no idea how that could have happen."
We walked in silence. Headed down the hall with a red line leading to the ICU, Ronnie pulled out her golden badge and I pulled out my white plastic consultant badge before any of the nurses could say anything.
"It's rather strange isn't it?" I asked knowingly.
"It get's, stranger, we found her after the search. On the ninth floor just like you told us to on one of the landings in the same wing with nothing on her but the skin off her back and the markings on her abdomen. It wasn't pretty." Ronnie said shaking her head.
"Interesting," I said understand her feeling. This case was getting more complicated sooner or later the commissioner would be breathing down her neck if he wasn't already.
The truth was I had expected no less, in fact, I was expecting a little more. Every time it had happened it should have been worst or had more push to it. The spell had a curse to it with conditions and limitations. To continue it needs a lot more magic than when it first began but with it came power death spells that even my tattoos were not completely immune to this sort of power.
