Compared to a normal witch that had reserved. I was weak. But as I draw straight from the circuit, the power is consistent and very clean. Anyway, there was still two more years in the bet unless I could find a loophole.
"That's a good girl," Hebe said and began to tip the beakers into a mold.
"Is it just me or am I suppose to be this tired?" I asked. It drained me of my powers the potion needs it. I kept on glaring at Hebe, knowing that she didn't regret anything and was amused with my antics.
"You'll thank me later, Gene," Hebe a.s.sured me smiling sweetly.
She then walks over and places the mold on the table. Turning back and starts cleaning up my mess and pack up the other potions we were making. By tomorrow it'd all be ready to wrap and pack ready to use. I put out the fires and decided to take a short nap on the sofa bed. I may have a bedroom but currently, with my long to-do list, I didn't have the time to really sleep so I'll settle for what I could fit in new my schedule.
It really was a short nap before my phone rang again. It was annoying how the little things invented for modern convenience could be of inconvenient.
"This had better be good!" I said sharply into the receiver.
"Gray, get to County Hospital. There's something you need to see. You were right there was someone else there, a body." Ronnie said sound rather off.
"Ronnie is that you?"
"You are back on the case with double pay," barked Ronnie,
"What's so important it can't wait till Monday?" I asked genuinely tired.
The spell took too much. I was tired as a dog. I had two scrolls on the floor at my feet thanks to Phi express. I had my daily list. It was what seems to be an extension of the job I did last night.
My mark was a vampire agent. He was on a team to a.s.sa.s.sinate someone very important. My aunts were tense, this was nothing like what I have experienced before as this mark gave nothing away of the plans. Even if we found out that the vampires had found a new source of magic and were plotting against the council. It made matters worse they were trying to find out who was the target but until then the security would be tight and many mates would have to stay locked up in their home for their own safety.
It really wasn't time but if the smell of Wolfsbane was any lead. My two cases may be related in some way. Most plots in stories are often connected in some way, in life, it was a maybe.
"We have a Jane Doe in the ICU and she has the marking carved in her back. Literally, carved into and we think it's the same tattoo. They found it on her stomach." She said, "You need to get down here. Now!"
"Fine. I'm on my way."
"She needs medical attention. We can't give her anything." She said her voice quivering, "I'm not sure she'd make it."
"Calm down. I'm going. I'm going."
This was bad. From what I knew this could get serious fast. Right of the bat, I'm guessing this is a test run and if it was I'll have to notify the council today. There was no putting it off.
