"There is a storm, dark clouds over head, weather cold to warm, many will be dead, with what was said, many will be torn, lies went unpaid, someone is betray." March said, "Be careful of fire, old buildings and desires."
"Really?" I asked not believing a word said.
It was so blatantly nonsense that I had a difficult time processing it mentally at first. It was then an idea came to my mind, I'll just place lots of small undetectable spells and then once out of the house with a time ticker spell that will pull the effect many days later. It was subtle and absolutely brilliant. She'd never know what hit her.
Knight leaned forward. Distracting March, giving me the opening I need to place my spells onto the maid and on the table.
"I'm hoping you can see more, after all Gene is important to me" Knight said as he places a hand over her hand. "Please?"
I felt my skin burn.
He meant it.
March's eyes widened. Surprise and speculation were all present before the mask was pull back to the pleasant smile.
"Please?"
It was a moment of triumph. I don't think she was thinking clearly or she'd see how he was working her, she may have worked others but with Knight it was she that was played, she was but a child compared to him, she didn't stand a chance.
"I'll give it a shot but no promises."She said stretching her body straight.
"Tell me?" he asked ending with a rough purr.
He was not seeing the ugly truth. This seer was a fraud and she couldn't see anything. In a moment of deep cynicism I could not help but calculated how many victims she had over the years and how good she was at faking it to get Knight to believe that she was the real thing because if she was she would have sense me.
Seers and the likes of us have indicators to tell another of our kind. Then I felt her, turning she looked into my eyes. It was suppose to intimidate but I don't do coward so she was disappointed.
Instead of a poem, she stated to sing.
"On the first will reading, My great aunt left to me: A curse ruby pendent. On the second will reading, my step father left to me: Two plots of land and a rundown hotel in the middle of nowhere.," March sang out continually, "On the third will reading my great granddad left to me: Three treasure maps Two Wolfsfeld paintings and a diamond the size of a pair..."
"This makes no sense."
Opps, I said that out loud. Bad Gray.
"It shouldn't" said the maid, stepping in,
"Look she's coming out." Knight said clearly excited, "Did you see anything? Who is going to take her from me? Who is going to harm my Gene? Who is plotting against us?"
