Lei Xinyi felt scared of the man in front of her. His decency was creepy.

The man was the slayer of hundreds and a cold-blooded murderer. She had seen this man crave bloodl.u.s.t.

Those who stood against him dreaded the day they were born.

He was too much like Yu Youhan. But Lei Xinyi had only seen Yu Youhan once face to face from afar but here she was in the arms of a beast, who could kill her with his bare hands.

Every pa.s.sing second was scaring Lei Xinyi.

His indifference to her was expected because it was well known in their society that he didn't like his fiancé but why was he acting too chivalrous? Is it his some kind of trick? Did he get to know that I am not Lu Xinyi? But why would he act nice then?

Lei Xinyi pa.s.sed him a curt hesitant smile, and said bashfully in a doubtful voice, "Ahh… That's Okay. I think I should just head to my Station to… know about my job."

A look pa.s.sed Li Yuan eyes before he gave a smile, "Stay for lunch, and then we can discuss all about your job."

Lei Xinyi tried to smile then slid away on the sofa creating a little distance between them, "Yeah… It's Okay…. I mean let's do it like that then. Hehe."

Although it was a long time in lunch, she didn't argue but sat there as Li Yuan stood from there excusing himself for some 'urgent' work he had to get back to.

Ji Zhou went back to resume his work, knowing well the reason for his Master wanting the girl to stay.

Lei Xinyi sat on the sofa erect and alert, leaning forward as if ready to run for the hills any moment.

She pretended to scroll through her phone while all her attention was on the voices in the room, for anything that could be a sign of a threat.

Li Yuan looked at Lei Xinyi with squinted eyes, without stopping typing. The girl was in a defensive position not relaxing for a second as if she could be executed any moment now.

The girl didn't know anything about him that was for sure, her father made sure she only knew the flowers without hurting by thorns or bees.

A naïve girl is usually nervous or confused sitting in a man's office that they didn't know but Li Yuan could read people with his eyes closed and this was definitely not nervousness but….. Fear.

What is wrong with her? What did she do to be afraid? Did she know anything about him? Did he scare her?

As both of them were formulating several theories, the door to the CEO office was knocked, diverting both of their attention to the door. "Come in." She heard Li Yuan said.

The clicking of heels was heard as a tall woman entered the office. The woman looked anything but a workwoman.

She had her b.o.o.bs busting out of her b.u.t.ton-up s.h.i.+rt and an a.s.s she deliberately swayed too much.

On her arrival, Lei Xinyi looked at the girl from up to down with pursed lips then pa.s.sed an accusatory glare at Li Yuan.

Li Yaun looked at her glare then turned to the woman on the door, "Yes Jiang Qinqin?"

As Jiang Qinqin realized another presence in the room, she turned and saw Lei Xinyi.

After her momentary shock, she pa.s.sed a hard look toward Lei Xinyi then pa.s.sed a beautiful smile to Li Yuan that almost blinded Lei Xinyi.

"Sir I was heading for lunch. Should I get you something?" She said in a voice that looked more suggestive to be only offering food.

Li Yuan raised a brow at the woman but looking at Lei Xinyi going to lose her temper he pa.s.sed a smirk and said in an amused tone, "You see Qinqin I promised Lu Xinyi a lunch already maybe some other time."

Jiang Qinqin blushed, nodded, and left the room swaying her hips.

Lei Xinyi gritted her teeth as Li Yuan was checking Jiang Qinqin's a.s.s in a trance. It was such an insulting blow to her ego, she felt lounging herself at him ignoring all the consequences.

As the atmosphere was rising in the room a.s.sistant Ji came with their lunch. Lunch was very much eaten in silence with Lei Xinyi avoiding all eye contacts and interactions. Li Yuan smirked but did nothing to clear the tense atmosphere.

As they finished their food Li Yuan made a call and after five minutes the door was knocked revealing Jiang Qinqin.

"Jiang Qinqin meet Lu Xinyi, she is the new secretary. Show her around and guide her of her work." Lei Xinyi heard Li Yuan say.

Even before Jiang Qinqin could reply Lei Xinyi was out of the door.

As the room was vacated from the ladies a.s.sistant Ji asked, "Sir should we warn the other staff not to..."

"No need. That woman is hiding some sharp claws under her fluffy paws. And…. This is her own issue. None of our concerns." Li Yaun said with a smirk and motioned a.s.sistant to go back.

a.s.sistant Ji bowed his head and left with, "Yes Sir."
