But her self-esteem wasn't in the list of things she would sacrifice. 

She struggled her entire life to live a kind of life where her character is blemish-free, but the woman in front of her went as far as calling her a Mistress!

And the haughty woman even wasn't her real grandmother-in-law, anyway. At least she will show the woman how shallow she is!

Infuriated by the direct insult, Old Madam Li stood up from her seat and advanced toward Lei Xinyi.

Lei Xinyi didn't even bother to straighten her spine, but cooly looked at her with a bored expression. She could dodge the old woman even while she was half asleep.

But even then she may have given her a little reaction to humor the old woman, but she was feeling her head swaying and she was feeling dizzy like a vampire drained her body of blood.

Old Madam Li advanced on her in pure seething rage, knocking some plates and the hot chrysanthemum kettle on the floor.

Old Madam Li paused with her hand in the air, hearing the shout of her loyal Italian maid and growled furiously, "WHAT?!"

"Madam Li, Master Li, and Young Master Li are approaching us." The maid frantically spoke in Italian.

Thinking the unwanted audience would not understand so the joke is on them! Because Of Lei clan's exile, Lei Xinyi was forced to learn seven languages and Italian happen to be one of them.

Old Madam Li at once took a step back and glared at Lei Xinyi with a promising of dread later.

She waved her hand, and another Maid came rus.h.i.+ng forward and took the folders of Li Yuan 'trophies' from the sofa and fled the Garden, hastily.

Two maids rushed to put the broken cutlery away and cleaned the mess on the floor.

She went back to the sofa, and another maid poured a half cup of chrysanthemum in front of Lei Xinyi to make it look like she drank it with them.

Lei Xinyi snorted and rolled her eyes at the Old woman antics. Being pretentiously humble and hospitable guest will even suit her now?!

She gave a disgusted look to Old Madam Li, whose glare intensified in return.

But there was no denying it. These women were as filthy sinners as she was but the only sin she forbade herself was hypocrisy but these women adorned sins as graciously as they adorned their jewels.

Li Yuan put his gun back on safety, then tucked his gun back behind on his belt in the leather gun-holder.

He and his Grandfather was walking to the Garden's gazebo. He couldn't wait to reach there, if he could only fly.

Who knows how his Mother and Grandmother must be terrorizing his Raven. After all, she was still in the drug's effect. Her hormones must be in overdrive... 

Then he brought his hands to dust them off for any gun powder that would be on them when his hands froze in the air and he slowed his pace.

He frowned, looking at his right-hand fingers; he had dried crimson blood on his right hand's fingers and it was definitely not his blood. 

It was understandable why he didn't see it because he shot from his left hand, but he didn't remember getting this blood on his hand.

Shaking his head, he washed his hand in the running fountain. He will investigate this later right now he needed to save his fiance who must be starving by now.

Not to mention the bomb that is going to befall upon her...

He walked to the Gazebo, his Grandfather was already seated and sipping on his tea. 

Whereas his Mother and Grandmother stood up to greet him with wide smiles, but that's not what made him smile. 

He glanced behind them to see Lei Xinyi scowling at his Mother and Grandmother. She had this habit of making faces when she thought no one was looking. How very adorable!

"My Handsome Boy, have you forgotten, you have one old Nonna waiting to see you?"

Old Madam Li's eyes turned into crescent moons as tears of happiness s.h.i.+mmered in her eyes. She smiled wider than she had in days while hugging Li Yuan, who was too tall for her.

Li Yuan pulled her away and kissed both her cheeks and forehead, "Mia Cara Nonna, can I forget a beauty as blinding as you?" (My Dear Grandma)

"Oh, Hus.h.!.+ Such a charmer! Stop tricking your old Nonna!"

Old Madam Li slapped his chest playfully then hugged him again before allowing his Mother to greet him.

He kissed his mother's cheeks and hugged her in greetings too then gave a look of warning to his Mother but adoration seeped from his expressions. 

"Yuan, come visit your mother too. Don't keep all your devotion to one 'flower' in the garden!" Mother Li whined while pouting her lips like a young girl.

Li Yuan smiled down at his mother then pinched her cheeks, "Dear Mom, you finally have attracted my undivided attention to you and I will be paying you a long visit soon. In fact, to Nonna too."

He was definitely talking about the ruckus both of them created by proposing the annulment of engagement.

Madam Li laughed embarra.s.sed and held his nape to make him bend down to kiss his forehead.

Lei Xinyi looked at the scene in front of her with wide eyes. Her jaw almost dropped to the floor. 

Wasn't these two Mother-of-the-Year Material minutes earlier getting all 'Terminator' on her?

She couldn't believe her eyes. What a discrimination!

His Grandmother who was going to tear her apart and his mother who was snickering watching the show were playing happy-go-lucky family right in front of her.

Indeed! How striking! It could be understood... Even a beat loves its cubs after all.
