He thought about the young girl from the past Li Yuan was fretting about. She was a ghost of his past. She hunted him with a fever he felt like he would loose himself to despair.

It was years ago when Li Yaun and Yu Youhan were kidnapped by the Lei clan. They were 16 at that time and the pet.i.te girl was hardly 7 or 8. He would have to be a pedophile to be interested in her romantically.

But even then he wouldn't tell that to Li Yuan, explaining wasn't what he did.

Escaping wasn't that hard but they couldn't get out of the tight ropes that bind thed.

They were held captives because they were the next heirs and the Lie clan wanted immunity and their exile to be lifted in the country in exchange of them.

n.o.body visited them even to see if they were alive. Then one night a young girl about 8 years came wandering in the bas.e.m.e.nt she was lost her expression told him, apparently the doors weren't locked as they had no chance of an escape. They were bind and beaten.

The girl name was 'Xinxin' or at least that's what she said she was called. She was wearing a royal blue sundress and looked out of place. The gruesome place didn't belong to her.

Li Yuan was still unconscious and needed medical as soon as possible. The girl was naive and innocent and it took Yu Youhan hardly a minute to persuade her to get him a knife.

She wasn't foolish she was purely kind hearten. She wasn't tricked by them; she pitied them.

He was good in combat, shooting and the element of surprise did the trick for him. He carried a barely conscious Li Yaun to the only door that was emitting sunlight.

Just when Yu Youhan thought they were free he saw the door was not the door to his freedom but to the deck. They were on a s.h.i.+p in the middle of the sea.

It was then did he see the brutality of the Lei's. The little girl 'Xinxin' whimpering and sobbing in the arms of a man who was holding a knife to her neck. She was their own so he a.s.sumed they wouldn't do anything to her.

He was dead wrong. As Yu Youhan shot their men one after the other the deck was filled with dead bodies of his captors except the man holding the little girl.

Somehow they discovered the girl was involved in their escape and Lei's don't give second chances, the girl learnt that the hard way.

The man looked at them with pure contempt and turned the girl around and stabbed her in her stomach. The look in the girl face will always hunt him. The pain, despair and shock she looked at him with.

The man swung her in the oceanic depths without even flinching.

The man took the momentary distraction and attacked Yu Youhan with the same knife. Getting out of the trance he retaliated and they had a fierce fight.

When the man dropped dead Yu Youhan looked in the ocean for any sign of the girl but far and wide there was nothing but endless water.

The s.h.i.+p was on autopilot as the Captain must be killed on the deck. He sent a message home and help arrived in two days. Till then he gave Li Yuan the necessary medical treament.

It wasn't love he felt for the girl but regret and guilt. She was beautiful and would have been about 23 years old but all of her life drained because of his one simple mistake and selfishness.

Out of everyone she was innocent among them but her innocence sunk with her that very day.

Lei Xinyi looked a lot like the little girl from years ago. He rescued her when he was destroying an old Lei Headquarter.

She was damaged and broken but she was no way innocent. You could sense her fiery nature miles away.

He was walking by the empty dark hallways when he heard suppressed sobs and whimpers.

Yu Youhan stopped frozen on the spot. It was the room where the girl was staying.

Was somebody inside?! Was somebody forcing her?! Here in his territory?! A thousand question ran in his head and a thousand emotions swirled in his heart. Many of them he didn't even recognize.

He took out his gun and with hurried steps opened the room with a thud. Surveying the room with his eyes for a possible threat but found none.

Another whimper guided his eyes to the canopy bed and the pet.i.te whimpering woman. There was no one else in the room.

That's when he realized the girl was having a nightmare. Putting his gun back in safety mode he tucked it back on his back in pant and edged closer to the bed.

He had heard people talk about her ethereal beauty and even he saw her in the CCTV videos they recorded but the woman's beauty was far beyond humanly possible.

If he didn't know better he would say she was his vision. As the moon shone on her face, she looked a heavenly creature. Angelic and innocent. A natural seductress.

Looking at her cherry red bee-stung luscious lips, flushed cheeks and long lashes holding unshed tears he had the urge to hide her from the world and keep her all for himself.

The comforter was no more on her body because of her consecutive movement and her body was on display. Too feminine, her curvy body in the sinful crimson nighty was enough to give him a b.o.n.e.r.

Another whimper broke him from his trance and he walked closer to her and bent down to shake her and wake her up.

As he touched Lu Xinyi shoulder and she woke up with a jolt.

"Wh...Who are you? What are you doing here?" Lu Xinyi said in frightened voice and sat up and backed against the headboard.

Yu Youhan could see the fear and innocence in her eyes. He wanted to treat her like a doll made of gla.s.s.

Yu Youhan stood up straighter and shoved his hands in his pocket and looked down at her.

"I asked why are you here?" Lu Xinyi asked in an attempt to intimidate him which made her look nothing but adorable.

She would harm him as much as a pet rabbit could.

Yu Youhan smirked in amus.e.m.e.nt and shrugged, "This is my house. I can go where I please."

Lu Xinyi at once blushed, her eyes widened in realization and her mouth opened and closed trying to form something that would come out of her mouth.

Yu Youhan smirked and took a step back, "Go back to sleep."

He headed to the door when he heard Lu Xinyi from behind him, "Will you still be here in the Mansion when I wake up?"

Yu Youhan halted his steps, "I will be here from now on."

He said that without thinking but he meant it more than anything he had ever said.
