15 No Liability.

[No I don't, I was not monitoring them] Avian replied logically.

Marcel asked curiously

[If you require it, I can monitor people] Avian replied.

Marcel asked like he was cheated.

[You never asked in the first place] Avian replied feeling wronged.

Before Marcel could say anything else, they were in front of the president's office. Sherry's manager looked at Marcel who had been looking zoned out and gave him last-minute instructions.

"Try not to offend the man, okay?" the manager said and then opened the door to the office. They were welcomed by a secretary who went to inform the president of their arrival and Marcel was led inside by the secretary and watched as Sherry's manager left.

The secretary smiled at him and opened the door for him but did not go in with him and instead closed the door behind him. The first thing Marcel saw was a man that looked to be either in his late 20's or early 30's sitting behind a large desk.

He had broad shoulders and a full head of blonde hair and grey eyes paired with thick eyebrows that were slightly arched at their ends. He also had a straight nose with a high nose bridge and a pair of thin lips with defined cheekbones and jawline.

Marcel studied him for a while trying to compare him with his president from his previous life who looked like he could have been his father. Besides, most people who were not in the public eye had completely forsaken fitness. His female perspective could not help but admire the specimen in front of him.

The president stood up to introduce himself and Marcel was surprised by courteous he was.

"I'm Damien, Damien Matteo, but just call me Damien," Matt said with a smile. It was Marcel's first time to see someone who preferred to be called by their name on the first meaning.

"I'm Marcel, nice to meet you, Mr. Matteo," Marcel said as he shook Matt's hand.

Matt did not attempt to correct his form of address since they had just met, and if he was more comfortable with addressing him as Mr Matteo he would not force him.

"Sit," Damien said as he pointed to the chair on the other side of his desk as he too sat down. Marcel sat down after him and looked at him quizzically. He was not sure why he was called by him in the first place.

"I heard you are working with Sherry" Damien started.

"Yes, she asked me to be part of her music video" Marcel replied happily as he had gone straight to the topic and had not bothered with small talk.

"Mmmh, and you also applied to be a model?" Damien asked as he looked at Marcel's portfolio.

In the beginning, he just looked at it because he was curious about who had caught Sherry's eye to the point she decided to pay him from her own pocket, but when her manager showed him his portfolio he was intrigued.

Marcel had perfect chemistry with the camera and he as a person who has also made appearances in movies was able to see how much potential he had.

"Yes, I met her when I had dropped off the portfolio at the front desk," Marcel said.

"We haven't been managing any models yet, but we are in the process of opening a subsidiary branch that is specifically catered to models," Damien said with a smile.

"Is that so?" Marcel said feeling slightly disappointed.

"Mmmh, is being a model your only ambition? Is there anything else you would like to do?" Damien asked.

"Well, I want to go into acting later," Marcel said.

"Oh, then why do you want to model?" Damien asked.

"I want to start on higher ground once I go into acting. It is difficult to break out of a certain rank once you start doing cameos or small appearances. Besides, I need money urgently and I can't afford to spend time on the small roles I'll audition for" Marcel explained.

He had thought about just applying as an actor, but to have any significant roles in any movies or dramas would require him to have a reputation which he lacked. Because he was so natural in front of the camera, it would be easier if he gained success as a model first rather than start off as an extra.

Modelling would put him on the limelight quicker if he was smart enough, but starting off as an extra would put him at a disadvantage from the get-go.

Damien nodded in understanding as he too had been in the industry for years, although he hadn't been on the limelight often in recent years since he started his management company.

He had started off as an independent musician, and he still produced songs for the groups he was managing and had also been in the acting scene for a while once his popularity had soared, but whenever he was asked to act he would either be the male lead or the second male lead depending on the popularity of the other person and the director too.

"So at the end of the day, you want to be an actor right?" Damien asked

"Definitely," Marcel said with a smile.

"Then we can make this work. I have a person who has experience managing a model so they can manage you. If your end goal is to be an actor I can a.s.sign them to you. What do you think about this?" Damien asked after closing Marcel's folder.

"I can work with that" Marcel said agreeably. He was more open because Damien had been very courteous.

"Great, then we will make a contract for you and have ready in three days," Damien said with a smile. He liked Marcel, although he looked too young, he also seemed to have a plan on how he wanted his career to go.

"I look forward to working with you," Marcel said with a smile and shook Damien's hand.

"It's already late, I'll drop you off where you live" Damien offered and Marcel accepted without hesitation.

He sat in his office for about half an hour before Damien was finished with his business before they left.

Damien walked to an Aston Martin parked in the garage of the building and prompted Marcel to get in. Marcel got in the car and enthusiastically looked at the interior.

"Where do you stay?" Damien asked as he started the car. Marcel gave him his address and Damien drove off. He inputted the address in the navigator in his car and drove Marcel home.

Damien told Marcel of his experience in the entertainment industry and the two had gotten closer. Marcel had started calling Damien big bro by the time they arrived at the orphanage.

"This is where you stay?" Damien asked surprised. He hadn't thought of the possibility that Marcel was an orphan.

"Yeah, I'll have to move out in about three days, so I needed to find a way to make money," Marcel said sheepishly.

"Okay then, I'll see you tomorrow," Damien said and watched as the young boy jogged to the building. It was unexpected but at the same time, it would mean that he was not going into the industry with a lot of liability.
