"You are starting to drool." Kaldrek suddenly shook his head at her and made a small tutting noise.
Zylvia frowned at him. "There is delicious food just waiting to be eaten. How are you not drooling?"
"You..." Kaldrek started then stopped, sighed, and murmured, "Just get some food."
"I was going to."
"Are you two already bickering?" Fayre interjected, "Usually that is saved until after the wedding day is over."
Both newlyweds frowned. "Well we aren't exactly lovers, now are we?" Kaldrek pointed out, "We are just friends, so we are 'bickering' as friends sometimes do."
The queen frowned at him, "Seriously, Kaldrek? You should apologize to Zylvia. You-"
Zylvia came to Kaldrek's defense, "Fayre, it is fine. He isn't wrong. We consider each other friends and that is it."
After saying her piece the bride then grabbed a plate and started piling food on it. Kaldrek turned to the queen and a.s.sured her in a more serious tone of voice, "Don't worry, your highness, I will be considerate of Zylvia's feelings. But both of us just see each other as friends, so we treat each other as such."
Fayre let out a sigh and said sadly, "I suppose that we can force you to get married, but we can't force you to fall in love. Just don't fall in love with anyone else, okay?"
"I consider marriage to be sacred. No need to worry about that."
"Good. I will let you off....for now." The queen fell silent as she went to go get some food.
Kaldrek filled up a plate with some food and then sat down beside Zylvia. Next to her heaping plate, his looked a lot emptier.
Zylvia glanced up at Kaldrek then looked at his plate, "Is that all you are eating? You are already as skinny as a rail. You don't want to blow away, right?"
Kaldrek shrugged, "I can only eat so much in one sitting. Unlike you, I don't have a bottomless pit for a stomach."
Zylvia gave him an indignant look, "What is that supposed to mean?"
"Just that it is impressive how much you can eat." Kaldrek smiled and poked her cheeks, which currently resembled a hamster. "And you're still skinnier than I am."
She wacked his hand away from her face, "Serilously, Kaldrek, you shouldn't tell a girl that she eats too much."
"I didn't say you eat too much. I just said that you eat a lot."
"You said that I have a bottomless pit for a stomach. How is that not saying I eat too much?"
"Well you use all the energy you get from the food, so obviously you don't eat too much. I didn't mean it the way you're taking it."
She humphed at him and looked away, "...You really don't eat enough though."
He let out a sigh of defeat, "Alright, but I really don't feel like eating much right now."
"Eat, or be force fed," Zylvia commanded her husband.
Kaldrek eyes widened and he nodded, "Alright, alright, I get it."
Zylvia grinned, "Good boy." She patted his head as he ate until she was satisfied with his food intake.
