He did not want her to be alone and so he would not leave her side in the mornings until Zylvia would arrive to keep her company. And Zylvia slept longer than Fayre and her husband, making it so that the time would be longer than fifteen minutes at most. Fayre knew that some of this had to be Kaldrek's fault, as Zylvia had never been the lazy sort.
But not only did she get some extra time from waiting in the mornings but Kaldrek would often borrow Zylvia. For practice. He would always let Jayesh know first so that her husband could spend time with her. It was wonderful, especially as she craved attention from her husband due to the hormones from her pregnancy.
Today was no exception. Jayesh was waiting with her and taking complete advantage of the fact that they were alone by continuously sneaking kisses from her. Not that anyone would dare say something to the king about this action. Well, Kaldrek might. But only teasingly.
Fayre did not mind her husband's actions. She was glad that they were alone as she did not want others to be scarred by her husband's affectionate nature. She personally loved this about him but she was aware that they had quite a few innocent servants who really did not need to see the way Jayesh treated her.
How she had lucked out to catch this man, who could have had any girl he wanted, she had no idea. And never would be able to fathom it fully. But that did not matter. What mattered was that she had, the why or how was unimportant.
She was enjoying a long pa.s.sionate kiss with her husband when she heard a clearing throat. Reluctantly, she and Jayesh pulled apart and looked at Kaldrek.
The young sorcerer had an eyebrow slightly raised, and a somewhat teasing tilt to his lips. He had Zylvia's arm tucked into his own, which always looked sweet and mild enough that it was not overwhelmingly affectionate. She would tease him about it but had yet to come up with anything.
"Mornn' you two. If you need more time together than Zylv and I can leave for a few minutes." Kaldrek grinned as he spoke.
Fayre saw the look in her husband's eye that was considering it. With a sigh she shook her head at him, "That will not be necessary. I am sure my husband has things he needs to be doing."
"Nothing is more important than my queen! If my queen needs me then I must be there for her." Jayesh leaned into her wrapping his arms and hands around her.
She giggled, "I know and I am sure they know as well, my king. But I want to spend some time with Zylv."
She shooed both of the men away and pulled Zylvia in to the room to do some work. She felt so excited about her baby and wanted to talk about it with her closest friend. Zylvia hardly resisted, though Fayre caught the way she looked at Kaldrek as she was pulled away from him.
It was a look he returned. Fayre hid a slight smile at the two newlyweds. It was a little odd to see the look of undisguised infatuation in Kaldrek's eyes as he tended to have a more reserved character but she felt happy that he felt so deeply for Zylvia that it showed on his face, especially his eyes.
She decided not to tease her friend about it as she did not really want to disturb that sweet moment. Instead she sat down and picked up what she had been working on. They already had a small pile of baby clothes ready for the little royal baby that was on its way.
Fayre smiled at her best friend and wondered quietly how soon her friend could join her in becoming a mother. If it would take her nearly as long or if it would be much quicker.
Zylvia met her gaze a bit confused. She set her work down as she asked if everything was okay. It was so typically Zylvia that Fayre smiled.
"Nothing, I was just thinking that I can hardly wait for you and Kaldrek to have a kid."
As soon as the words left Fayre's mouth a huge blush came to Zylvia's cheeks." I, uh, huh. I guess whenever we are blessed with the wonders of parenthood."
Fayre listened to her friend's fl.u.s.tered voice and smiled to herself. Zylvia may not be the most vocal about it but her statements such as this one clearly showed those who knew her that she did want kids.
