6 The Question

"Liar!" Allon screamed at Tsuru, "that doesn't even make sense."

"It does to me. You mortals just don't understand. " Tsuru hissed.

"Then why does the lamp disappear every time!?" He questioned, "both in Evira's room and in the forest. So Explain!"

Tsuru was quiet for a moment thinking up an excuse as she spoke, " As I said you wouldn't understand. Besides what reasons would I have to kill my master it's obviously what you're thinking."

Before their little accusations continued Evira's mother called, "Evira, Allon where did you go!"

Evira started walking back inside as she spoke, "I wish everything in the house back to normal."

Allon glared at Tsuru as she disappeared into smoke, "how long will your lies last?" He whispered hoping she had herd, "I won't make the same mistake twice."

Tsuru had indeed herd him as she thought, "My calculations where wrong. But i was right in the fact that I know him. Who would have thought Allon a genie to care about someone other than himself... For a second time."

Evira kept the lamp with her for the night not daring to let it out of her sight. As she was going to sleep she asked, "Did you have a family?"

Tsuru came out of the lamp looking down at her, " I prefer not to speak of such times."

"Allon hates you." Evira claimed.

"That's as clear as day to me. And I know why he hates me." Tsuru replied unfazed by her words.

Evira hummed thinking she knew the reasons as well. But then she became serious and looked Tsuru straight in the eyes, "I wish you'd be honest to me."

Hearing that wish Tsuru's eyes widened, "N-no." She tried to fight back the genie's curse but to no avail as her fingers snapped on her own.

"Do you hate me?" Evira asked.

Tsuru shut her mouth unwilling to speak but she was once again beat, "Yes."

"Why?" Evira continued.

"Because I miss being a mortal." As those words left her mouth tears followed. It wasn't the same thinking it every day than admitting it out loud.

She had kept her feelings bottled in for so many centuries that she didn't know how much it would hurt to admit it. For the first time since she had become a genie one of her master's seemed to care. But that didn't mean her plans had changed.

"What's so good about being a mortal?" Evira questioned wanting to know exactly what she missed. What was so precious to her.

"You get to have a family... People love you for you... Not because of what you can grant." Tsuru stated , "now stop asking questions."

Evira didn't listen as she asked one final question, "Did you ever fall in love?"

"Love's a fools dream." Tsuru spoke abruptly before she had to answer truth, "I did." She claimed as those words reminded her of the terrible truth about love.

Evira smiled in contempt as her words. She had always enjoyed a sad love story and maybe Tsuru had one that she had to say goodbye too.

Tsuru felt like crus.h.i.+ng Evira yet thank her at the same time. But she was way too nosy and might find out about her true intentions of killing her. So she had to try and get out of this situation and soon.

But she remembered Eviras question. When she herd it it was like traveling to the past. Back when she believed love was something special... When she felt that love made her mortal. She remembered that one master that melted her heart. But love for a genie and a mortal is a fools dream. Because that love blinded her to the point where she granted him an almost perfect immortality. almost perfect because he can die. She just had to find him because the one who grants the wish is the only one who can break it.
