Chapter 53

I’m back!

The intoxicated Mo Qingli, thinking to how her magic had flared up against her, felt her mood sour more and more as she thought. Eventually she became unable to swallow down her indignation, and thought about doing something unbecoming of her thousands of years of existence

That was, to catch the dove, then roast it for Feng Chenling’s dinner!

Thinking to this point, Mo Qingli nodded her head. The corners of her mouth lifted in a satisfied smile.

She slowly stood up, her body swaying unsteadily and nearly falling off the tree branch. Luckily, one of her hands caught against the side of the tree trunk, preventing the fall. Otherwise, if her jiangs.h.i.+ friends from her previous life had seen the scene, they would have definitely stared in wide-eyed astonishment: “That magnificent corpse ruler fell down when she was jumping off a mere tree branch. This really is an one in a million years occuring legend!”

Mo Qingli narrowed her eyes, inspecting her surroundings. Hmm, very good. No one had seen her near fall.

She was, after all, a jiangs.h.i.+ that was very concerned about face.

Letting go a light belch, she drunkenly stumbled towards the direction that the dove had flown. That dove was heading forward at a leisurely pace; from time to time, it would stop, waiting for Mo Qingli to emerge. Once she neared him enough, he would then pick up speed and continue flying.

Mo Qingli grinded her teeth. This really was blind provocation. The other side, having noticed that her magic had backlashed against her, rendering her incapable of flying, only became so brazen thusly.

Just you wait until I catch you and pluck out all your feathers, then snap your wings—then, we’ll see how you can fly away! Afterwards I’ll roast you, and feed you to Feng Chenling!

As Mo Qingli thought, her footsteps quickened to match her thoughts. As her attention was solely focused on that dove, she failed to notice herself walking into the arms of someone in front of her.

“Wife, please conduct yourself with more dignity.”

Mo Qingli was only aware that this speaker sounded similar to the ethereal sounds of nature, and it was as if it had been a great deal of time since she last heard this beautiful voice. Her intoxicated brain decided to put the incident with the dove away from him, only seeking the warm embrace in front of her, disregarding the way the other party pushed away from her.

“Don’t move, don’t move.” Mo Qingli closed her eyes, smelling the fragrance coming from the person in her embrace. The exceedingly pure smell of human blood came into her sense. It was similar to Feng Chenling’s scent, and was mixed in with a few other scents as well.

Mo Qingli, having suffered a magic backlash, urgently needed to replenish her energy with blood. Not only had the person before her practically sent himself to her doorstep, he also possessed extremely high quality blood. Though she was unaware of most of what was occuring, she was not one to waste an opportunity.

Her eyes suddenly snapped open, revealing the ink-black pupils inside that quickly s.h.i.+fted into a bloodthirsty gold shade. Two sharp canines formed in her mouth, immediately biting towards the direction of that enticing white stretch of neck.

When her mouth was only about a centimeter away from that delicious-looking neck, Mo Qingli suddenly felt a sharp pain in the back of her own neck. A moment later everything turned black, and she fell down, unconscious.

Seeing that Mo Qingli had fallen unconscious, Xiaoyao Yunyan shrugged her off onto the floor. He produced a handkerchief, rubbing away at the areas where Mo Qingli had touched him.

“It really is bad luck. How come I have to come across this woman of all things.”

A black-robed figure appeared from the shadows, kneeling onto the floor. “Prince please forgive me, this servant…”

“Forget it,” Xiaoyao Yunyan said, waving away his hands. He pointed to the unconscious Mo Qingli. “You know what to do!”

“Yes.” The black-robed figures picked up Mo Qingli and placed them onto their shoulders, quietly disappearing into the darkness.

Taking thirty percent of his palm strike should have been enough to incapacitate her for a good number of days.

Xiaoyao Yunyan rubbed his hands again with disgust. As a sudden weight on his left shoulder, he turned with anger towards the white dove now perched on him. “It’s all your fault for luring her over here. For your punishment, you aren’t allowed to eat anything for three days!”
