Before Ashley left Grandma Hanada's house that day, she had told the older woman that she would return to the condominium after leaving work. Ashley thought it was not right for Tanaga's grandmother to get caught up in the situation.
Another thing was that she also wants to experience being independent. From childhood, she had been pampered by her family and treated like a princess. It was because she was the only girl and the youngest. Now that she's away from her family, she has to learn to live alone.
Grandmother Hanada did not stop her. Instead, she was just told that whatever was going on between her and Tanaga ... Grandma Hanada was just there to help her at any time.
"Don't argue with your husband about that girl Ohani or any other woman who tries to take him away from you. Fight for your rights! Do you understand me?" Grandma Hanada said as she held her in a tight embrace.
Ashley couldn't help but shed tears as the older woman took her by surprise. She's so kind and loving. She treats her like her own flesh and blood, or even better. At first, Ashley was afraid that grandmother Hanada would be against her. It's what always happens in the drama that she watched.
She thought that grandma Hanada would be the one to disagree with them being together, then yet she's now advising her to fight for her rights as Tanaga's wife. It's unbelievable! But, who is she to complain... She's in no position to argue, only to accept what fate throws in her directions.
Even though she wanted to follow the older woman's instructions. There is still that contract that they signed stating that she who has agreed to be a surrogate mother for the amount of ten million USD... The contract that had been shredded by Tanaga a while back and she's the only one who has a copy.
After her conversation with grandma Hanada, Ashley felt much better and in a good mood. She ready to tackle what might come her way.
However, before leaving, Ashley talked with Tiny about him being her bodyguard. She did not want Tanaga's employees to notice that Tiny is now her bodyguard. However, it's a little awkward, and they would be suspicious because everyone knows that Tiny is the head of Tanaga's bodyguard.
Unfortunately, she must try and reason with him. She doesn't want the employees treating her differently if they know who she is.
"But ma'am, even though I want to comply with your request. I still need approval from sir Jones. Otherwise, I might get fired." Tiny said as he drove to the THJ Group headquarters.
"I understand what you mean. Don't worry, and I'll talk to him later when we get to the office." Ashley said as she looked around outside the window as they pa.s.sed by.
Tiny didn't respond when he heard what Ashley had to say. He just concentrated on driving. It was difficult to argue with Ashley, seeing as she was determined to remove him as her bodyguard. 'Let's see if you can tell your mean husband to agree.' Tiny thought as he smirked, knowing what would be the outcome when the time comes.
"Tiny! Can you please not let me off right in front of the building? You know people are coming in now and when they see me coming down from this car, you know what they will think. Please!" Ashley pleaded as her eyes begged.
Tiny contemplated and unsure of how to answers. He could see Ashley's face in the rearview mirror, which is visibly distressed.
"Ma'am Ashley, If you don't mind, I'll just check first if it's ok with sir Jones, give me a moment. Please!" He said and, at the same time, pressed the b.u.t.ton at the steering wheel where his cellphone was connected to a Bluetooth.
What else could Ashley do when he already made the call. She just stayed quiet while waiting for her husband to pick up the call...- If he even answers at all.
Tanaga's on his way to the office already and seating at the back of the car with his eyes closed. He's phone bzzz several times before he answers.
"Why are you calling me so early?" He snarled as he answers, it was as if he just awaken.
Tiny looked at the time. It's almost Eight o'clock already. 'He should be on the way to the office if not already there.' He thought before replying.
"Sir, ma'am Ashley and I are on the way to the office. That's all... However, ma'am asked me not to drop her in front of the building. Can I do that?" He asked as he looked at the rearview mirror to see if she's listening.
"Does it matter what I think? Let her do what she wants!" Tanaga hung up his cellphone. He had no idea that Ashley had heard her answer. Suddenly Ashley's face dropped, and she just looked out the window.
Tiny was speechless. Because he saw in the rearview mirror what was Ashley's reaction as Tanaga spoke. He decided to go ahead and follow Ashley's request. He stopped half a block from THJ Building and was about to open the door to let his lady boss out.
However, Ashley could hardly bear to wait for the vehicle to come to a full stop. She quickly gets off, not waiting for Tiny, who's still talking as she went out of the car. She promptly gave thanks before closing the car door and making her way to THJ Building without looking back.
She was disheartened from what she heard Tanaga said. But she also thinks that Tanaga has an excellent reason to be angry with her, because of what happened the other night. She left him at the restaurant without saying goodbye, then after going to Grandma Hanada's mansion; she didn't talk to him. So, he has the right to be angry at her.
She decided to let all go and think positively, and she cannot let it ruin her day. She continued walking without a care in the world and a smile on her beautiful face. When suddenly she heard a voice calling her name...
