Chapter 69: Meeting Princess

After taking the class, Lucas took shower longer than usual to clean himself and after searching the suits he had, he chose the one with black colour with a white shirt and wore them.

He scanned himself once again. After all, he

have to make himself look at least presentable as he was going to meet the princess after all he can't just go to meet her wearing casual clothes.

As he looked at himself in the mirror, he nodded in satisfaction seeing a well lean muscular handsome boy in the mirror but the only problem is that he was sweating more profusely than before.

'Did I get some weird disease where one sweat excessively like one of the mental diseases where one get disgusted from others touching?'Lucas chuckled thinking about this.

He hadn't gone mad rather he was trying to ease himself. His situation is like seawater, calm on the surface but full of turbulence under the sea. He may look calm but his heart is beating faster than usual due to anxiousness, fear and nervousness.

Though he had already adapted himself to greet people but imagining about meeting Princess whose eyes were filled with coldness enough to freeze someone along with the sharp dagger-like eyes looking at him is making him drenched in sweat.

Wearing the clean suit taking long strides, Lucas left for the meeting spot.

The place where the meeting was scheduled was near the President's personal space in the Student's council quarters which was located in the third year block.

Lucas looked around seeing the change in the place, the place was magnificent and the floor was carved out of white marble stones that were shining brightly in the day reflecting the rays of the sun.

Two ladies were standing at the entrance of the huge door which looked to be crafted out of ivory though he wasn't sure if ivory was available in this world.

One lady stopped me and asked, "What is the purpose of your visit?"

Hearing her question, Lucas laughed bitterly inwardly after all they were the ones who invited him still he have to show the invitation and his identification. He can't do anything about this, after all, things were like this in the world.

Many people tried to meet her to get a glimpse of her which was quite annoying and after that, without any proper reason, no one was allowed to pass through.

Taking out the neatly folded invitation letter, Lucas handed it to the lady guard and said his reason for visiting.

The lady took the letter and was shocked seeing the invitation. She looked at Lucas for a moment in a daze as it was quite rare for someone to be invited by The Princess and usually it was others who try to seek her audience and tried to invite her for different occasions.

"You may enter." Greeting me, she opened the door.

Entering the door, Lucas found himself under a small roof that was extended by a courtyard full of flowers and herbs.

He was stunned to see the exotic scenery before him.

'This must be the garden. Tea ceremony in an open place like this feels quite good.'Lucas muttered inwardly.

While Lucas was engrossed in admiring the beauty a girl walked towards him and asked"Are you, Lucas Bright?"

The voice of the lady snapped him out of his thoughts and he just nodded his head without saying anything.

"Follow me. Her royal highness is on the other side waiting for you." The lady turned and started walking without sparing me a glance.

Seeing her indifferent expression, Lucas subconsciously thought that maybe he had angered her somehow to get this type of treatment.

'Is she angry cause I arrived late and the princess had been waiting for me which made her look down on me after making the princess wait for a commoner like me?'Lucas looked at the watch thinking this. The time was sharp 4:30 PM. He had arrived exactly at the appointed late neither late nor fast.

Following her lead, he arrived at the other side of the garden where he saw a beautiful lady like a fairy sitting on the chair carved out of sandalwood with her hands on the table which was filled with delicacies along with two ladies standing alongside her.

Her hairs were tied loose which were swaying in the breeze and her face seemed to be filled with elegance which had been heightened by her ruby-like red eyes.

As she looked at Lucas, he without looking at her, bowed down putting one of his hand on one of the knees and spoke"This humble one greets Her Royal Highness."

"May the blessing of the citizens of the kingdom shine on you."

Just to meet the princess, he had wasted an hour in learning the etiquette of the nobles. He also asked Fredrick for help but still, Lucas couldn't help but cursed at the one who came up with these useless etiquettes.

From Fredrick, Lucas learnt that a noble should walk with a straight and upright back without a single flaw in movement. To walk in this way, you have to practice walking by keeping the book on your head and keep on practising until you learn to walk without the book falling from your head.

He doesn't know what is the reason for practising such a stupid way of walking.

"Lucas Brightt, Nice to meet you. You can stand. No need to stay in the ceremony." Julian spoke waving her hand.

Hearing her voice, Lucas raised his head. He felt an electrifying sensation passing through his body as his golden bright eyes met with her indifferent glowing pearl ruby-like eyes.

He felt like a mouse standing before a lioness who can devour him anytime. In front of a 6-Star like her, he was even unworthy to call himself an ant.

After all, if an ant is pushed into a corner at least it can even bite the enemy at its last moment but facing her he would be freezing like a statue and will be wiped out before he could make a move.

But as he looked at her beautiful ruby-like eyes instead of looking at her with lust, he looked at her with sincere eyes of admiration. Admiration for a sculpture like beauty before him whom God had made with much effort and precision.

Standing up, he stood at the side of the table waiting for her signal, as he didn't dare to seat in front of her without her permission. Just being able to come to her place to meet her is already a blessing.

"Lucas, you can sit down," Julian spoke as she gestured her servant to pour the tea after Lucas sat down giving her a brief nod.

"Her royal highness, may I know the reason for why you have taken out your precious time and invited me?"Lucas asked her bluntly without rounding his words.

He knew she will hate him to the core if he spout bullshit flatteries, so it was better to get to the point from the beginning.

" Straight to the point without wasting any time. I like that."Julian said taking a sip of the tea.

His lips twitched on hearing her words. Unable to find any words to speak, he just gave a faint smile.

"Before that, I wanted to ask you a certain question," Julian spoke as her lip curved upwards giving a faint smile that can make anyone mesmerize.

He shook his head, not to get distracted by her tricks.

'She is teasing me on purpose trying to test me. The moment I looked at her with any improper thought will the moment I will face my death.'Lucas clenched his fist underneath the table to maintain his rational thinking.

"Yes, Her royal highness you can ask me everything. I will try my best to answer all your queries." Lucas spoke maintaining a neutral, solemn look.

"First thing, you were 1-Star when you entered the academy. Within a few months, how did you get stronger and you were able to defeat opponents stronger than you." Julian looked straight into my eyes.

He can feel that she had dug all his information and the things he had done after entering the capital. The stronger opponents that she is referring to was the ones, he defeated during the exam, If Lucas averted her gaze while speaking, she will surely think that he was trying to hide something.

"Her Royal Highness, when I entered the academy, I felt that I was lacking in many aspects. I didn't have money, not any good skills. Miss Ami and Sir Harris helped to increase my combat abilities. Miss Ami took mercy on me and bestowed me with scriptures while I brought a skill from the money I earned by joining mercenaries."Lucas spoke steadily without stopping.

"Hunting in the dungeon along with the members of the skies was one of the greatest factors that had contributed to the increase in my strength. Facing real-time monsters where sometimes our life can be on the line has helped me in increasing my combat experience and battle awareness. The reason I was able to overpower stronger students than me was due to my in-depth real time-fighting experience which the students mostly lacked here as they are trained and stay here in the shell."

"Fighting an enemy with life on the line where a single careless mistake may cost one life, is a thousand times better than sparring sessions which are stopped as the match crossed the limit. The students here dont have any awareness or fear of death. People say a warrior should be fearless. I dont think that this is the correct way of thinking. A warrior should have a certain fear of death to overcome the death."

As Lucas's words stopped, everyone out their stunned on hearing his words.
