Chapter 114: Facing The Giant Calamity[2]

A few minutes ago before the clash of the monsters and knights.

Fredrick and all other students were guided by a group of a knight who was making their way toward the fortress.

Standing on the fortress wall which was not far away from the collapsed part, they observed the fight with a curious gaze.

The battle was beyond their level to interfere and they can't miss a single moment of the huge battle. Watching this battle will surely be helpful in the future to evaluate, how strong the upper-grade warriors were and they may learn a trick or two by watching the battle.

Though they were excited, their pupil shrank when they saw a huge hand appearing out of nowhere and covering the entire sky aiming at the city that was about to fall.

Fredrick and others standing in the fortress panicked. Though the paladins can protect themselves using the shield but just like before the fortress walls would be defenceless and with the hand falling towards them, they will be flattened and turned to be meat paste.

"Nooooooo."

Many frightening screams were heard as they saw the hands coming toward them, they already felt the huge pressure with the descent of the hand which was pushing them down even when the huge hand hadn't fallen.

"Are we going to die?"

"No, I don't want to die."

The students cried in agony and grieved as they felt that they were going to die.

"Fredrick." Parth patted Fredrick's shoulder and spoke with teary eyes which one couldn't tell was true or just an act"Fredrick, it had been a small and nice journey till now. You were a good friend. If life permits let's be friends in our next lives.Amen."

Fredrick bit his lips and shouted, "Bastard, don't raise the death flag?"

Fredrick after glaring at Parth for a moment ignored him and looked ahead.

As the hand fell, a pillar of light descended where the knights were fighting and a huge bright golden yellow sword appeared out of thin air and blocked the hand.

"Whaooaaa!!!"

Everyone exclaimed in joy as they looked at the huge sword blocking the hand, the fear and anxiety in their heart eased a bit seeing the huge sword.

Even from a distance, they could see a bright glow and as they looked they saw a lady with a white dress whose hair was shining golden with lustre brightly was left free to flutter in the air.

Her skin has turned golden as if showers of blessings fall on her. She closed her eyes joining he hands and the glow of the golden light covered thr entire area of Knights.

Looking at her gave one a warm feeling and sense of security and hope in their hopeless situation making one mind calm and surreal.

"So, this is the Saintess blessing," Fredrick muttered as he saw scenes with his own eyes.

Saintess's blessing is a powerful move that the Saintess used to boost the power of her believer and followers. It can even heal your injury and increase your prowess by a margin.

The Saintess blessing is a symbol of faith signifying those who have faith in God will be never betrayed and under God's guidance, your steps will never flatter.

Just as they thought they have seen enough, the next scene shocked them to their core.

As they saw the Princess appear in the air with beautiful angelic wings and a huge ice sword appeared in her hand whose tip seem to pierce the sky.

Miss Ami took the huge ice sword from the Princess's hands and swung it downwards.

The huge sword seemed to break all possible barriers before him. At the same time, a faint white glow appeared, following the sword joining the heavens and earth in one line just before a powerful explosion took place.

Booooommmmmmmm...Boooooom!!!!

The earth shattered, the rocks were pulverised, the ground was forcibly torn apart, and the trees were uprooted and swept away by the wind pressure released by the attack.

The monster and beasts that were within a radius of kilometres of the impact were annihilated and blew without any remains of their body.

A huge chunk of the forest was directly crushed and flattened under the blow. The cliff nearby the Fortress of Aler where previously a waterfall was present was crushed and cut apart.

Rumble...Rumble...

The ground rumbled following the destructive blow and the entire city wall vibrated and large cracks appeared on the walls.

"Holy shit."

"Oh My God. Am I dreaming?"

"What was that!!"

The students tried to support themselves on the walls as the entire foothold vibrated.

Fredrick's expression hardened as he realized, he had greatly underestimated the strength of 8-Star.

He had listened to the tales that 8-Star can shatter and crush mountains with a punch and he thought this was just an exaggeration but seeing Miss Ami's destructive strength, he had realized even the exaggeration of their power was too low compared to the real deal.

Still, even after such a heavy and mighty blow, the monster seems to be alive.

Fredrick sighed as he thought it was better for him just to observe while protecting himself from the danger.

Fredrick looked at his classmates who were breathing heavily after being frightened by the earlier scenario.

"Wait." Frederick as he rolled his eyes saw someone was missing among them.

He quickly ran and searched around.

Even after scanning the whole area, he was unable to find him.

"Asshole." Fredrick roared, as his angry voice reverberated across the surrounding.

......

Julian and Ami were panting heavily as they landed on the ground. They gave their all in the earlier attack, unfortunate they were not able to take down the enemy.

Even after attacking with their combined might, it was just enough to gain some moment and now they have to think about their next move in this crucial period.

They looked at thr monster whose arm was missing and had most parts of the left was sliced. The ice sword not only sliced his arm but also froze half of the upper right areas of its body that were starting to break and fall.

The monster shrieked and lowered his right hand and penetrated the ground with the claw. As his arm dug deep down the soil.

Julian and Luna along with the others observed and noticed a few hundred giant branches swinging in the air pulled up the branches and roots from the soil, it looked like some sort of magical tentacles that were crawling out of the ground and converging with its bodies

The tentacles like branches crawled all over the body. The frozen part and the branches slowly broke and fell and patches of branches started to appear on the left side and finally took the shape of the arm.

"Disgusting." The Paladins commented as they are unable to process the disgusting scene before them as they tried to hold their urge from vomiting.

Julian observed something and spoke, "I have a plan."

"What plan." Luna blurted out as she looked at Julian. Seeing Julian's eyes, she felt that her plan was going to be risky.

"Try to draw the monster's attention. I will find an opening and freeze him entirely and then Luna will cease the chance and used her power to purify that flame." Julian explained her plans to everybody.

"It has a high regenerative power as it absorbs the trees and branches to patch itself. Unless we deal with the flames, I don't think we will be able to take it down." Julian spoke with a grim expression.

"What!!!" Everyone present out there, shouted at the same time.

"No Princess, you can't. Freezing the monster entirely will put you at great risk. I can't agree with that." Ami voiced her concern.

" Julian, I agree with Ami this time, "Luna spoke and added a few words with a faint voice" Did you forget about your illness. Even my divine spell can't heal your chill attacks. If the chill attack resurfaces now. Can you imagine the situation? There is a large chance of you dying in the process."

"I understand all your concern but this is the only way, I can think of. Moreover, you all know that my illness is not deadly and if I get it after freezing the monster then I don't think there will be any problem. Moreover, I am already used to the pain and the chill attack by now." Julian spoke with a hint of sorrow.

"But.." Ami was cut off in the mid of the sentence.

"Stop."

"It's my order. Since I am the highest authority here. You have to comply with it. Let's not waste any time in this meaningless argument. One has to do the things one ought to do," Julian spoke coldly.

Seeing Julian using her authority as Princess to surpass, everyone became silent as they have to follow her orders.

Julian turned toward the monster and saw that it was still tending itself.

Juliana felt that this was a perfect opportunity and her figure disappeared with the final words"Begin now and now to keep it distracted."

Listening to her command, all of them gathered and started to attack.

Meanwhile, Julian reached near the huge foot of the giant and leapt on it. Using the branches as support she climbed toward its centre.

She felt as if she was climbing on a mountain. As she reached near the thigh, the branches attacked her but it was dealt with quite easily.

With just a wave of her hand, the claws froze and broke into tiny snow particles.

Julian reached near the waist and decided to start from here.

Taking a deep heavy breath, gathering all her mana in her hands, she put her hands on the giant body. From her hands, an icy chilly aura manifested and started to penetrate the giant monster's body.

Sensing the danger the branches from the nearby area formed a claw and attacked her but they were frozen as they came close to her.

The area around the waist of the monster started to freeze at an astonishing rate and extended toward its upper and lower area.

Julian concentrated on feeling the mana and guiding her frosty aura throughout the whole monster's body.

But as she drew her aura, she suddenly felt a choking sensation within her, her internals started to freeze followed by a sharp searing pain that felt like she swallowed needles that were wreaking havoc within her from inside.

Her entire body went limp and she wanted to cuddle to generate some warmth. Her vision started to become. blurry.

She gritted her teeth and bit her lips as she braced for the incoming painful chill attack which had been tormenting her from childhood.

She closed her eyes to bear the pain but suddenly she felt a pair of warm hands touching her back and suddenly a warm and refreshing sensation passed through her body like current fighting with the frosty aura around her, lessening her pain.
