He couldnt help but burst into a laugh after realizing that he had become sentimental. His heart, that was overflowing with overwhelming feelings, started to calm down. If these feelings remained in his heart for a long time, it would be hard for him to remain cool-headed. So, he let those feelings go. What he needed was not emotion but reason.
