The company official announced that the partic.i.p.atory power extended to distribution meetings. For the first time, Jasper tasted what it meant to truly become the top tier of power.

The taste of power was euphoric, but also made him more alert. Jasper was very clear of what had allowed him to get this much. To return the favor, he promptly proposed two plans. Firstly, to continue the large investment flow towards t.i.tat.i.tan Star, and secondly, to deepen cooperation with the Solar System, especially Earth.

On each count, arrangements proceeded smoothly. Jasper’s proposals were aligned with the company targets, and was a win-win situation that n.o.body opposed.

As the Group’s meeting ended, Jasper returned to his new office and opened his Skylink to see tens of unread messages. They were all congratulatory. It seemed like these were not ordinary playboys as well, to have already heard the news. The matter of the CPD contract was still not officially announced. Unless one was paying special attention, one would not know yet.

Among the many messages, Jasper’s eyes flashed. He had seen a special invitation.

The invite was from Laurel, a super-hot babe. 27 years old, the jewel of Lya Sphinx and the host of the Koruna Business Club. She was the cla.s.sic opposite example of Jasper. In other words, Laurel was Lya Sphinx’s Ai Xiaolu.

Koruna Business Club was different from other circles. Circles because of similar interests bringing people naturally together, but Koruna Business Club’s entry criteria was very strict. Firstly, one must be the heir to a large company, and this did not just depend on the family’s wealth, but also property. The Club had already been around for half a century, and become one of the most influential second-generation clubs in the Galaxy. Ai Xiaolu was also a high-tier member, although she did not normally partic.i.p.ate in its activities.

Jasper had barely qualified for entry into the Koruna Business Club. He had the qualifications, but his individual rating was very low, and he had always been a fringe character. Any club activities were normally disseminated through the club secretaries. A personal invite from Laurel herself was indeed a first.

Before, he would have been shaken. This was something that one could hold one’s head high about within the circle.

But now, while he was happy, he was not as ecstatic as expected.

This banquet was a must-go. It was a chance to make networks, and to expand his own influence, which was after all the reason for the club’s existence.

This Club banquet was held at a manor resort in the outer suburbs of Lya Sphinx. The moment Jasper reached the main entrance, he was personally received by Laurel. Previously, he would never even have dreamed of this.

He was a little surprised. A red evening gown, with plump white b.r.e.a.s.t.s on display.

Although he was prepared, seeing Laurel’s smile still made Jasper’s heart skip a beat. In the playboy circle, he was counted as quite the figure, although he did not have much status in the Koruna Business Club.

But things were different now. Jasper quickly recovered his pose, and moved forward to greet her. “Evening, Ms Laurel. As ravis.h.i.+ng as ever.”

“Just call me Laurel. Jasper, you’re the star today.” Laurel said warmly.

Only, now Jasper was no longer a rookie. He would not be captivated by every word of Laurel’s, oblivious to everything else.

“Please, it was just good luck. Please don’t tease me, Laurel.” Jasper forced a smile. Laurel was surprised. She did not expect Jasper to have changed so much.

The moment they entered the villa, Jasper spotted Gabre, and met him with a smile.

The two hugged for a moment, and Jasper asked. “How are things?”

Gabre nodded. “Not as smoothly as they have gone for you. CK Group and Quark Financial Group’s combined representative. It’s a step forward.”

Gabre was still as though in a dream. Originally, CK Group had been a lost cause, but in the end he had managed to board that gravy train. Not only had Gabre’s position as heir to CK group been secured, but CK group had also enjoyed a huge leap forward.

And all this was simply because he had held firm in the Little Lucky Star t.i.ta investments…

Laurel walked over with a smile, saying: “I have a few friends I would like you to meet. Please don’t run away before that!”

Laurel favored Jasper. Although the news had not been officially released, but she had already seen the conditions of the contract. Compared to other representatives, Jasper had secured much better conditions. It was unexplainable. CPD was dominating from technology to materials. Especially the super gravity energy ore, which companies could not even touch. Jasper, without full support from his company, had pulled the chestnuts out of the fire. What he had pulled off could be counted as a business miracle. Before, even his eyes would have flipped to the top of his head, but now he was so calm. What exactly had made him like this?

It seemed like this was a very interesting guy!

Jasper and Gabre of course had no objections. There was an inner circle within the Club. The two of them were just minor members previously. But to warrant introductions from Laurel meant that they had made contact with the nucleus. This was the reason why they had all partic.i.p.ated.

As Laurel left, many stopped to exchange greetings and chat, feeling the ground for any opportunity to work together. Koruna Club’s philosophy was to create opportunity during pleasure.

Gabre was enthusiastic, and was soon engaged in deep conversation with some strong minded guys. Jasper did not partic.i.p.ate. Gabre was still eager to prove himself.

Excusing himself, Jasper decided to go outside for a breath of fresh air. For some reason, he had liked the pretentious atmosphere previously, but after spending more time with Yan Xiaosu and Ye Zisu, he felt tired of it.

Once he walked out the villa door, his expression changed.

At the door was a very beautiful woman. She was comparable to the heroine from Fallen City.

Their eyes met, surprised and a little embarra.s.sed.

“Jasper, let’s break up…”

“Why!”

“I feel like we’re not compatible, in terms of personality, as well as others…”

“I can change.”

“How can a person change his personality?”

Jasper was willing to do anything for her, but she remained adamant.

That was a few years back, when Jasper was just a green student at Yinman International Aristocrat School. And she was the sweetheart of the cla.s.s. He had exhausted all his tricks of romance to chase her, but the good times were not to last. Men always had to pay the price of the first love in order to mature. Her reason had been that Jasper was a clueless youth who did not grow up, while she wanted a spectacular future.

“Ingrid, long time no see.”

Jasper smiled genially, and reached a hand out. His last news of her had been her departure to Aslan for expansion.

Ingrid’s eyelashes fluttered. “Jasper, long time no see. How are you?” Ingrid was not surprised that Jasper would be here. After all, his family still counted for something. Only, she did not want to just be the other half to some playboy. Her ambitions and dreams were much loftier.

Jasper chuckled. “Doing fine, same old, same old. Just getting by. You? Why are you standing outside and not coming in?”

Ingrid smiled. “Oh, I just returned from Aslan. I’m supposed to meet my boyfriend at the door before we go in together. You’re not just getting by, are you? Where are you working now, you look good.”

“I’m OK, I’m in charge of the company’s t.i.ta Star program.” Although much time had pa.s.sed, but Jasper’s heart still ached. After all, he had been serious once.

“t.i.tat.i.tan Star? So coincidental? My boyfriend is there too. Keke, perhaps the heroes have met before? I’m back this time also intending to head over for a look.”

At this moment, a luxurious hovercar stopped on the road nearby, and a large young man stepped out.

Ingrid’s eyes lit up. “My boyfriend is here. If you don’t mind, how about an introduction?”

Privately, Ingrid wanted to prove that her choice had been right.

“Forget it, I wouldn’t want to be a lightbulb.” Jasper said.

Ingrid’s smile became even wider. “We’re all old cla.s.smates, don’t be so reserved.”

This had been the place where Ingrid had dumped Jasper. His background was good, but his pompous air had made Ingrid decide he would not be able to lead a company, and was just going to get by. Therefore, she had dumped him.

Ingrid’s boyfriend hugged her first, then turned to Jasper. His expression quickly turned startled.
