Eric’s heart clenched and he answered, “No.”

“Keep a close watch on it. Tell me immediately when you receive any news,” Lina said in a somewhat exhausted tone.

“Okay,” Eric quietly answered, a sinister look flas.h.i.+ng through his eyes.

“Who was that woman you were talking to today at Zhiya Entertainment?” Lina asked, her eyes closed.

“Oh, that girl’s name is Xu Cheng. She is Ruan Zeyan’s cousin. She seems like a simple person, and she doesn’t have any mental defenses. I was thinking that I might be able to find out some of Ruan Zeyan’s weaknesses from her,” Eric answered calmly. He sounded capable and experienced.

Lina opened her eyes and looked appreciatively at Eric. “Not bad, you did well. This is your best quality. You don’t miss any details. Whether or not that woman eventually becomes useful to us, you must first secure her.”

“Okay, that is exactly what I was thinking.”

Lina looked at Eric. Previously, she had fostered this man to become her successor. She had believed that she didn’t have any children, and someone would need to take over her company. Eric had never disappointed her, and he handled things well.

However, when she found out that her daughter was alive, it meant that she had an heir. Now, of course, she needed to give her business to her daughter. No matter how good Eric was, he wasn’t family.

“Eric, if I find my daughter, I hope that you will a.s.sist her as you a.s.sist me.”

When he heard Lina’s words, Eric’s entire heart trembled. He didn’t want to a.s.sist anyone. He wanted to become the owner of LAYNA! In his heart, he had long considered himself the owner of LAYNA. Otherwise, why would he rack his brain to become a woman’s a.s.sistant? Why would he work himself to the bone every day to take care of everything she needed?

“Don’t worry, I will,” Eric responded softly, burying the anger in his heart.
