Chapter 10

Xia Mo recalled her past life. She saved her life, and that person also used that set of innocent eyes to glance at her. In the game, that was how they met, relied on each other. Xia Mo was strong and she was weak. Therefore, Xia Mo always had to look out for her. But in the end, Xia Mo was unable to accept the fact that as the game was ending, the person who ended her life was her.

Xia Mo shut her eyes, and seemed to be able to see that pair of eyes again. This had let her learnt the harsh cruel fact that in DUST, kindness was the most useless trait. She closed her lips tightly and then became a straight line. Finally, she opened her eyes and was no longer emotional.

She looked at the nail that was at the end of the plank. It was incredibly sharp and that was why she suffered so much earlier in the fight. The plank was full of dried blood stains. It must had taken the lives of many players, and she was also nearly one of them. The wooden plan looked extremely gross. But did that matter?

This weapon was still hers in the end. She tore the clothes off the muscular man and threw it into her bag.

She smiled but it was a stark contrast to her emotionless expression. She looked at the corpse again. What was his name? Heng Miao or Li Miao? Just a few minutes had passed and she could not recall his name. But what is the matter? This was just the start of how she would survive till the end.

She turned around and walked into the dense forest. The forest was not too quiet, as there were birds chirping and insects crittering. There were no other sounds made by other people except by her footsteps.

The injuries on her back were scorching like fire. To Xia Mo, this was not much of a big deal, but the constant pain would reduce her Agility and restrict certain actions. Although she was not afraid of pain, if she was injured, it would be best to get it treated.

The long walk made Xia Mo condition remained in a state of exhaustion. From afar, she could hear the sound of water. After walking in the direction of the sound, she arrived at a small stream. Xia Mo breathe in and felt that the air was moist and cooled her lungs.

After a series of events, she felt thirsty. She looked at her surroundings vigilantly and after feeling that there was no danger, she sped to the edge of the stream and drank the water in big gulps. Then, she started to wash the blood stains off her face and hands. She felt more comfortable. Although in times of danger, she would even hide in the dirtiest waterway. But deep in her heart, she was someone who loved cleanliness.

The burning sensation on her back reminded her that she was not in a place to enjoy herself, and she left. Now, she required certain herbs to treat her wounds. San qi, red flower, xue jie, etc were required. However, these were not available in the starter map so she had to use thistles to preserve her life. Xia Mo had never learnt how to harvest the herbs so even after taking quite a fair bit of thistles, she still had not succeeded. Some had missing leaves or damaged roots and these reduce the effectiveness of the herb.

Luckily this was just the beginning of the game and most players were in the exploration stage and did not know the details. Even knowing the use of the herbs was definitely known by a very few individuals. Individuals who had played many traditional games would feel that only after mastering the Harvest skill, one could then use the herbs to make medicine. However, in DUST, a lot of herbs can be harvested and used immediately. To add on, most players were more terrified of what had happened to them than have the time to learn about how to harvest herbs.

Since there were many thistles in the forest, she managed to get quite a fair bit even though she destroyed quite many of them in the process.

Xia Mo went back to the stream and proceeded to use a small round rock to mesh the thistles up and applied them on her back. After finishing, Xia Mo took out the clothes she tore off earlier and washed it. She started to bandage herself. This life saving skill is a must learn, and she had used the bandage skill so much in her previous life that she finished bandaging herself in a blink. After tying a knot to tighten the bandage, she moved her body around to ensure that the bandage was secured. Then she washed her clothes and the leftover ripped clothes and left them to dry on top of a big rock.

The afternoon sun was hot and the clothes dried. Xia Mo observed her surroundings again and she discerned another peaceful water surface nearby and there could be fishes swimming around lazily. She looked at the fire starter in her bag and moved ahead.
