Even though James was a nearly two meter tall thug, he was just like a child. He liked to eat junk food, he liked to ride the roller coaster in the theme park, he was called a child-at-heart, full of naivete.
Ye Qian looked at him helplessly and said, "No problem, we'll pay you in advance from the organization's bank account, we'll just deduct it from your next pay and mission rewards."
"Oh, My G.o.d!" James became speechless.
He didn't know why, but he had only left China for a few days but with each pa.s.sing day he missed Lin Rou Rou more and more. Perhaps it was the power of love, Ye Qian had no choice but to believe in the saying that heroes had a weakness for beautiful women.
After relaying some more instructions, Ye Qian and the others went to the nearby tourist spots, and selected some souvenirs from small shops, of course it would be for giving to Lin Rou Rou, Qin Yue and the others. Selecting these gifts costed Ye Qian not a small amount of thoughts, the personality of each girl was different. Ye Qian had to find a gift suitable to each of their personalities, it was a real pain.
While they were at the tourist spots, Ye Qian took some photos of the scenic landscape with his phone, treating these photos as memorabilia for this trip to Burma. Ye Qian did not take any souvenir photos of himself. Even though his ident.i.ty wasn't a secret to the higher levels of some governments anymore, he still took precautionary measure, Ye Qian rarely ever took a picture of himself.
That night, everybody went to a small restaurant and ate some local food. But really the best place to try local food was in food stalls along the street, even though they didn't look great, they had the authentic local flavor. It was very different compared to restaurants.
The next day, Ye Qian rode a car and hurried to the capital of Burma, then took a plane back to Shanghai. Before leaving, Ye Qian called Lin Rou Rou and told her he was flying back, that girl was so happy, chattering furiously while questioning about what time his flight was, when he would arrive, and that she was going to go pick him up. Ye Qian didn't want Lin Rou Rou to be running around but he couldn't help himself and wanted to see her as soon as possible.
Around 10PM, Ye Qian and Mo Long arrived at Shanghai Pudong Airport exactly on time. Mo Long did not speak much during their entire trip. He only answered minimally when Ye Qian asked him things, it was quite dull. But Ye Qian knew that this fellow really had this disposition, he just didn't like to talk, it didn't mean that he was disrespecting Ye Qian or hated Ye Qian. Likely, this could be one of the factors that made somebody good at camouflage and sniping, the mind must be quiet, the person steady, patient enough to dwell in silence.
After exiting the airport lobby, Lin Rou Rou could be seen waiting from afar. That girl face was full of expectation, she looked all around the area nonstop. After she saw Ye Qian she ran over to him happily.
Seeing this girl run over to his side, Ye Qian picked her up in an embrace and circled around a few times in place, then put her down. With deep emotion in his eyes while he looked at her, Ye Qian said gently, "I missed you so much."
A happy smile appeared on Lin Rou Rou's face, she rubbed Ye Qian's face and said tenderly, "I also missed you, you scoundrel, you were gone for so long but didn't call me."
Ye Qian smiled ashamedly and said, "It was a poor mountainous place, the phone had no signal. Tell me the truth, did you think about me a lot?"
"So much!" Lin Rou Rou said.
"Where did you think about me?" Ye Qian asked with a mischievous grin.
Lin Rou Rou's face turned red and she looked at Ye Qian in a soft and tender way and said, "I thought about you everywhere."
Ye Qian chuckled and approached Lin Rou Rou's ear and said a few word, a moment later Lin Rou Rou's face became read and she protested cutely, "How hateful, you pervert."
Mo Long was like an invisible man, he stood in place without saying a word. He only looked at Lin Rou Rou once at the beginning then turned his eyes away to some other place. But don't think that this fellow is really unperturbed, from the beginning he was already perking up his ears to hear what Ye Qian and Lin Rou Rou were talking about. Maybe because of his profession, but Mo Long liked to observe a lot and speak less. Mo Long couldn't help shuddering at Ye Qian's corny words, thinking to himself, "Boss is really d.a.m.n embarra.s.sing."
When Lin Rou Rou discovered that Ye Qian had once again brought a stranger over, she looked at him in surprise, then Ye Qian quickly introduced, "He is Mo Long, my brother."
"Sister-in-law!" Mo Long turned to look at her and said.
Lin Rou Rou naturally understood what Ye Qian meant when he said brother, for sure it was a brother of the Wolf Fang. When she heard Mo Long's words it was hard for her not to feel a little shy, she smiled a little and said, "h.e.l.lo."
Ye Qian drew Lin Rou Rou into himself and said, "Let's go, let's head back."
Lin Rou Rou a.s.sented in a gentle voice, letting Ye Qian take her out of the airport. Mo Long quietly followed from behind, his eyes calm and unreadable, as if there was nothing in the world he found interesting.
Ye Qian didn't' know much about Mo Long's history, he only knew that Mo Long was the disciple of the Mohism. It could be said that the Mohism goes all the way back to the distant past, it could be traced to China's Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period. Back then there was often the chaos of war, each country went on military expeditions, Mohism rose up during those times. The first Juzi of Mohism was Mo Di, the founder, he stood for universal love, he travelled through various states, helping the weaker states form a resistance against the expeditions of the larger states.
Ye Qian didn't approve of the doctrines of Mohism very much, but there were still parts of it that should be revered. After all, Mohism represented the ordinary citizens, not those rulers from high up.
Mohism started to decline toward the Han dynasty. However the people who had retreated to live in the mountains would descend from time to time and travel through the states to spread their teachings. Mohism was previously a very strict military organization, it could be said that each follower of Mohism was a dagger in their army. As for Mo Long, as a follower of Mohism in this generation, he was also a Juzi of Mohism. But this t.i.tle had been pa.s.sed on for many generations, it was unknown how many of them remained, their ideologies have also been changed through the pa.s.sage of time.
Back then when Tian Chen brought the young Mo Long to the Wolf Fang, he had simply told Ye Qian of Mo Long's ident.i.ty, and also instructed Ye Qian to treat Mo Long well with all of his heart, that Mo Long would be of great help to him someday. Back then Ye Qian was also still young, he didn't know what Mohism was, only until the time he read some history books about the topic did he understand. Ye Qian didn't know how many followers of Mohism were left in the world, if they would still be like the old followers that would go through fire and water for their Juzi, but in Ye Qian's eyes, Mo Long was not only a Juzi of Mohism, but his own brother, a comrade in arms through life or death.
Juzi - leader of Mohist unit, the next Juzi is chosen by the current Juzi
Mohism - wiki tldr; they had ethical beliefs about universal love yata yata, were hired by states during times of war for their siege engineering skills, etc etc
