Volume 1 Prologue

h.e.l.lo there people!

First of all, I would like to welcome all of you to my new website.

Here the first chapter (prologue) of Spirit conductor:

Before we proceed to the actual chapters, I would like to introduce myself a little. Because this will a little bit different from other wn sites’ situations.

I am a native Indonesian, an aspiring author who starting to write fictions back around 2011. I don’t have much writing experience at 2013-2017, because that was the time I went to college and tired myself quite a lot. Mid 2017, I felt so unproductive without no idea for my stories so I forced myself to start writing a novel with web novels tropes-and-cliches that anybody could find in almost any popular works. So at the time, I played around with “chosen one” protagonist, calm yet not so edgy archetypical character. I also experienced a lot with cliche plots like failed engagement and harem and lucky-encounters and level-like power system and so on. The result was, a fantasy novel t.i.tled “Spirit Conductor”.

You read it right. I am the actual author of this novel. I’m also served as translator for this site. Don’t forget editor and site admin. Oh boy, there’s a lot of things in my plate right from the start. I just hope I can endure it and continue to present new chapters for you folks.

I don’t know if there’s authors who translated his own works out there. But for me, I have to do it myself because I don’t even know if Indonesian web novels translating scene is currently exist (I’m aware there some Indonesian novels released regularly at NU, but honestly, I don’t have any confidence to approach their translators either it to recruit or asking for help. I’m a pitiful introverted guy, and basically I reluctant to asking busy people for help, or I don’t have any money to pay them to incase the a.s.sume collaborations went that way).

Because my English is horrible, you’ll notice quite a lot mistakes from here on. h.e.l.l, maybe there’s a lot of grammar mistakes in this post that I’m not aware of. So I’m asking a favor from you kind readers: if you spot any grammar mistakes within the novel, please kindly refer them and a detailed feedback would be very appreciated. This is my first time writing story in English, and I relied heavily on apps like Grammarly and readable.io site. So, you know, I’m not confident at all if we talked about the translations quality here (well at least they’re better than google translate or MTL).

And finally, because I’m writing as author and translator at the same time also as editor, there’s a high chance that I will edit heavily on the story, plot, and the like. I need to say this so people wouldn’t confuse when seeing the raw and the translated work was quite different. (though, most of the time, they’re still a same novel, i mostly fix plot mistakes, cutting a lot of info dump and write better characterization from back then)

This is the end of my (rambling) introduction. Do please enjoy the novel. Hope you like it
