"Done," he smiled, taking a stool and placed it beneath her feet and splashed some water on the stool making it look like she slipped and died. Arianna was not the type to take her life, but certainly, the type to act it out, maybe this "acting scene" became a little too real by an "accident" on her part.
"Ah, a smart choice of action," a voice commented behind Damien, "she was never the type for suicide."
Damien flinched.
"You'd be a nice addition to the crew," Gradis grinned.
Damien turned to find Gradis in the doorway, "who are you?" He asked.
"Ah, Gradis Norway," Gradis snickered, "Arianna's adoptive elder sister."
"I'm guessing you aren't here to go all damsel in distress and call the police on me are you?" Damien asked.
"Of course not, I'm here for partnership," Gradis smiled.
"Partnership?"
"Yea, you see, I'm in this special unit in the police force and we got this job to catch a serial killer and we get awarded millions for it. 1 mill per death."
"And why exactly do you need my help?"
"I'm a bit of a lazy potato sack that literally hates to do that much work so I find it easier to just frame a person and earn a few million in a snap," Gradis sighed, "but in order to do that I need someone just like me to help, a manipulative clever person, who can take a life seamlessly and without remorse pa.s.s the guilt to another person. And that person is you."
"So?" Damien huffed, "what do I get out of it? What if it fails? Then what?"
"Look around you," Gradis smiled, "have you forgotten which house you are in at the moment? I can bury anything with just a few flicks of cash. People these days are easy to buy."
"So money, what else? You can't possibly think I'd join without any other motivation right?" Damien scoffed.
"It's the police, any crime you commit will be covered," Gradis smiled.
"And if I don't join?" Damien huffed.
"Don't act dumb, you know very well how many cameras are hidden in this house, you can kill me cuz I'm a witness but you have no idea where my special can is, which captured everything,"
"And if you're bluffing?"
"Check for yourself," Gradis held up a tablet in Damien's face, there was a live feed of everything playing on the tablet, "you don't agree, you lose everything, you do agree, you're rich. Pick one."
Damien locked eyes with Gradis before answering with a nod.
"Good, we have a deal!" Gradis chuckled, shaking Damien's hand.
