Chapter 7: First Victory

I felt like the meet was destroyed, as to be expected, the goblin was squashed in a gruesome way that is beyond imagination.

(TLN: Dang! Fatality!)

This is minced meat mostly and it is said that in the onset that first goblin’s bones were broken, nevertheless a pattern was set in. It shows a lot of grotesque feelings that can not be expressed by a slime who is mostly made up of water.­­

Apparently it seems that my attack power rose after I became large. I feel like it is too much of an overkill.

Anyways, I won. I survived. To think that the moment I loosen up, fatigue would overcome me so suddenly. At the same time,

An announcement was made. As I thought, Whenever I fight I am able to gain experience points and my level seems to go up. I understood that somehow power overflowed into me at the same time that the announcement was made. Further more it is more overwhelming than when I ate a slime a while ago. I did not expect that my level would rise by 7 in one battle though the subspecies was rare based on the display,  but I am satisfied even though it went over my expectations in a good way. Besides, the skills that I obtained this time was very good on which was worth staking my life on it.

“Be that as it may, it was unreasonably painful when I was. .h.i.t.”

The reason why I did not feel any pain a while ago was probably because I concentrated on it, but now an a sever pain ran through my whole body once it was finished. If it is a soft body of slime, physical attack seems to be effective but it does not seem that convenient.

Being attacked in such a state would be bad, so I ate the herb that grew around here. Thereupon, the moment I ate the small quant.i.ty, the pain in my body was reduced.

Apparently it seemed to be poisonous gra.s.s, and items such as medicinal herbs seem to have an immediate effect. It will take time until it will take into effect, such a scene resembles very much like a game. In a way this is somehow standard.

I tried to eat the meat of the defeated goblin while I was eating a medicinal herb to heal my body which was in pain (TLN: Anyone got a better translation? 薬草を食いまくって體の痛みが癒えたところで倒したゴブリンの肉を食ってみる。). I expected that with this I could get more power… but the feeling of getting more power did not come.

The feeling of skills acquisition like that time that I got experience points did not come (TLN: Welp sound correct but just in case: スキルが得られないのはともかくそれまで感じていた経験値っぽいものが、力が手に入っている感じすらしないのだ). It only made me feel intoxicated to eat more meat.

“How strange –“

I was under the the impression that I usually obtain skills when eating but it seems different. However, if that is the case,  how come I was able to occasionally obtain skills with the slime? It it completely strange.

Since there was too little information, I decided to not think about it anymore. Besides it might come up sooner or later.

Anyway, I am now raising my level. I have not yet acquired all the skills, therefore, I went out to look for my next prey. (TLN: Our little slime is now turning out to be a very aggressive hunter. I am so proud of him. *sobs*)

However, some time have pa.s.sed since I left the slime’s nest. Though not quite satisfactory, I hope to go out and hunt several more time and get various information, so I suppose lets return home for the time being. (TLN: Will he kill his beloved brothers… Stay tuned to the next episode!)

I guess it cannot be helped but leave the body of the goblin. I can not afford spending extra power, I cannot even bury it even with my best effort.

“… shall we go.”

I went back the way I came from while I cannot shake off being surrounded by a strange feeling of comfort.
