"What do you want to know?"

This was his best chance: if number two was truly interested in him he would surely use the opportunity. If he still disregarded his goodwill Luke would have to use a different approach.

Both Siana and Cain were quite surprised at this Boss's straightforwardness. It seemed like they really needed her help or else why would they be so accommodating?

Sia looked at Cain who in return nodded his head in understanding after he saw her gaze:

"What do you need me for?" - codename Q

Luke was quite happy with this development: it was the best to work with intelligent people and number two was surely one of those. Though he had many things he wanted to accomplish with the help of this person he couldn't spill out all the beans.

"I need you to find information on certain people."

Sia and Cain shared another look that was quite strange. They both had a weird premonition but they simply couldn't put a finger on it. With a team so strong how could they not find information on people, unless those people were extremely extraordinary. And the number of people who belonged to this group was quite small. Thus, whoever the person on the other side of the screen was, he couldn't be simple at all.

"If you want me to work with you, you would need to give me more detailed information and reasons." - codename Q

By now even Cain was getting interested in these people, so he didn't mind taking advantage of their disadvantageous situation. Those people had no way of locking onto Sia so he might as well use the situation to their advantage.

Luke was never one to waver whenever it came to things he wanted. And now this person as something he not only wanted but also needed. However, he was also not one to be taken advantage of so easily. Thus, he made his stance clear.

Upon decoding the message the couple was in for a surprise. They had sent a big sum of money with an accompanying message simply said,

"This is a small gift and there will be much more in the future. If you want to learn more about my plans, you will have to agree to work for me first."

Cain started checking the source of the money. It came from a well known bank but the account was under a name of a retired old woman in a care house, who wouldn't even know about the existence of this money as it had been added only a day ago. Moreover, her account was created the day before, so this all spoke about the power of the individual they were dealing with: he was powerful enough to bypa.s.s regulations and laws and at the same time was careful enough not to leave any traces. The number of people falling in this group was narrowing down to quite a small number.

Taking in the silence of the other person Luke subconsciously clenched his fists. This tactic would show the other party the strength he held, so he hopefully wouldn't need to use harsher tactics.

"Cain, I feel like this is worth a try." Sia said while holding her chin in contemplation. The other party was no simple individual and prying into his business could be beneficial to Cain in long term. This was a risk, but it could also be used as a card to hold against someone powerful.

However, Cain shook his head. He could guess Sia's train of thoughts but he could never risk her. And this proposal was nothing but risky.

Sia felt dejected for a moment. She was young and adventurous and really wanted to do something fun. However the guy was just too careful. She also wanted to be reckless from times to times, okay? Suddenly she had a bright idea that she couldn't help but share immediately:

"How about this: if it becomes too risky you can take over my ident.i.ty and claim that it was a pastime of yours to act as number two. I mean who has the galls to go against you!"

She said this but inwardly she thought something completely different:

'As if I would let it get too risky for you to claim all responsibility. I want to help not create problems!'

Cain sighed in exasperation. Why was this girl so set on making her life difficult. What she suggested was something doable and also would be their best shot if things went astray. Nevertheless, her eyes and her mouth talked different language: it was obvious she had no desire to pull him into this mess.

However, on the other hand, this could be a valuable experience for her. After all, she was his woman and she would need to deal with this type of people sooner or later. Might as well give it a try if it was not too much of a ridiculous request.

He pulled her into his arms abruptly, caressing her hair in a gentle fas.h.i.+on. If possible he would want her to remain as far away from this kind of world as possible. But she was too kind and too straightforward which could be used against her in future despite her high IQ. He wished for her to remain the caring doctor she was but he also wanted her to toughen up a bit. Or else she might not be able to take in his world at all.

Placing a light kiss on her forehead he concentrated back on the screen and typed swiftly:

"Money is not exactly something I lack. You will need to try harder if you want to work with me."- codename Q

Luke felt exhilarated at the message. The fish took the bait and nothing else mattered. However, he wouldn't give away information and would rather the other person lay down the conditions.

"What is it you want?"

Sia's lips raised in a lopsided smile and she couldn't conceal her excitement anymore. Cain on the other hand was feeling helpless as this was exactly what he wanted to change in her: she was too playful at times despite the gravity of the situation. While he was deep in thought, she had already positioned herself comfortably in his embrace and started typing her response.

"You will have to give me the reasons behind whatever information you want me to find. The money would also depend on the task given. Last but not least: I work with you and not for you. I have my freedom to pull off whenever I want.

These are my conditions: take it or leave it." - codename Q

Luke smiled at the declaration of the other party. He was truly smart not to ask about his ident.i.ty, but giving the rationale behind his actions would be enough to deduce his ident.i.ty, which he did not mind that much.

"Deal."

With all the things done and gone the only thing left now was to have a collateral against this guy to restrain and control him. Ribekia it was then...
