'There is till that number two! Getting him on my side is now inevitable.'

He quickly gathered his murderous gaze and took a deep breath to calm himself down. He couldn't let such a thing faze him so all he did was to nod but with mocking smile plastered on his face.

'Even if the odds are against me I am still the destined Emperor. As if a family of scholars can obstruct me.'

Cain naturally did not make any sound and only nodded in consent. It seemed like he didn't have much to worry about: Sia wanted to help him anyways, so this was actually the golden opportunity for the two of them. His Queenie and Her King were totally a golden couple.

At these thoughts Cain's lips subconsciously hooked into a small smile, but from Luke's perspective it looked like he was celebrating his victory against him.

'Let's see who laughs the last.'

As their objective of getting the trial details was fulfilled both Cain and Luke left quite early. They didn't have extra time to spare.

As soon as they were gone Archie had his men check for any hidden recorders or anything of sort. After he made sure that the place was clean he quickly called his brother. His call was answered after three rings, and Mark's cold but a bit tired voice soon came from the other side;

"What's up? Done with those princelings?"

"Yeah, finally. Honestly, I am sooo dead tired," he said in exacerbation.

"What's on your side? Umm... Ho..how is dad?"

He hesitated a bit in fear of bad news. He could hear his own erratic heartbeat that was now out of control. He was truly scared of any bad news concerning his dad.

But it seemed that the G.o.ds were on his side as Mark's answer came in quite a relaxed and even a bit cheerful tone;

"The surgery was a success. He is asleep now but should wake up in the next 13 hours."

Hearing his brother's words Archie finally let out the breath he was holding. Everything was good as long as his dad was in a good health. All of his strong front gone from before, he was now chiding happily like a small child,

"I am glad Dr Brown's reputation was well deserved!"

Mark had a complicated look after hearing his little brother's words. It wasn't really Dr. Brown's reputation that saved them. The trip would have been wasted if they had relied on Dr. Brown, after all, the man was apparently starting to develop Parkinson's symptoms and was in the hospital as a consultant rather than a surgeon. If not for that bright woman...

"It wasn't Dr. Brown, it was another neurosurgeon who, if not better, was certainly not any worse than Dr. Brown."

Archie blinked his eyes in confusion: what was going on? Because there were hidden snakes in their clan who were after his dad, they had to do all the research on their own. The three of them had been researching about the different hospitals and neurosurgeons for a few months. They had to hack into every hospital's system to check on the numbers of successes and failures. They then had to do background checks on every single surgeon they considered.

They had stopped on Dr. Brown as he was the dean of Neurosurgery of the hospital with the most success history. Especially the last two years had made this hospital the best place to get the most complicated surgeries such as separations of conjoined twins with connected heads. Even some of the so called 'best surgeons' wouldn't dare to take such patients as the risk was too big. But, it turned out that not only did this hospital provide this surgery, but all the four cases in the last two years saved eight lives without any fail. So, this was an obvious indication of the surgeon's skills.

All of these surgeries were performed by Dr. Brown which was exactly why they had chosen him. And now his brother was saying that Dr. Brown was not the one to perform the surgery. How could that be!?

"Wait, what? What do you mean!? We wanted the best for dad and you are telling me he was actually operated on by someone else!?"

In stark contrast to his brothers agitated tone, Mark was really calm and collected. He leaned on the wall and said slowly while looking at his father,

"He is not the actual head surgeon of these operations. He acts as an a.s.sisting surgeon the most, but now he doesn't even do that. Instead, it's a genius intern under him that takes all these complicated cases. But exactly because of the fact that she is yet an intern they are not allowed to doc.u.ment her as the leading surgeon."

Archie felt completely flabbergasted: wasn't that actually illegal and risky then!?

"Wait! You mean to say you trusted dad with someone who isn't yet fully qualified?"

"Did you even hear what I said?" He was a bit annoyed but still went on, "And, anyways, I think even if she was not that good dad would still trust her to do the operation. For all you know, he even asked her to become his friend. The girl is really interesting and talented. She is kinda ... extraordinary."

By now Archie already had forgotten about his dad and all he could think of was that extraordinary physician his brother mentioned. His big brother and his dad would almost never praise even the geniuses among the geniuses. And now, not only his dad had acknowledged someone, but his picky brother too?

He suddenly had a bright idea: were they, by any chance, going to have a new family member!? Oh, his gossipy heart was now burning with interest!

"Hey bro, who is she!? Why do you sound so smitten? Have you fallen for her? Am I going to have a sister-in-law?"

Mark momentarily went blank but the next second he simply chuckled at his brother's imagination. Sometimes he doubted they were brothers because of the contrast in their characters.

"No, that's not the case. I like her, but it's more like a brotherly like. I actually would love it if she accepted to be my little sister."

"Oh..." came Archie's disappointed reply.

"What? Why so disappointed?" Mark asked in amus.e.m.e.nt, antic.i.p.ating his brother's reply.

"I guess it's true when they say that you can't have two pluses in one place."

"Hmm??? Go on."

"Well, what do you want me to say? It's obvious that she should have really poor looks and most probably a messy appearance of a nerd. Or else, if she was so extraordinary as you say, why would you want her to be your sister rather than your woman?"

Mark simply laughed out loud at his brother's deduction. It would actually be quite fun if he met Sia. He wondered whether his brother would be able to hold his drool.

"Haha sorry to disappoint but she just happens to be the most beautiful woman I have ever met."

It was now Archie's time to fall silent. What was all this about then?

"Eh? Umm... bro.. I meant to ask this a while back... are you really..umm... not str... bent?"

Mark's laugh stopped abruptly. His countenance darkened by many folds. He truly would have killed his little brother if he was next to him.

"Seeing how you are bulls***ing Your big brother, I, will gift you a lesson upon my arrival," he said through gritted teeth.

"No, no bro! No need to arrive anywhere. Just stay where you are and try to win our potential sister over. Oh my. I have so much staff to do. Bye!"

Archie said everything in one breath and quickly disconnected the call. Why stir trouble and bring calamity to himself if he could live his life peacefully? But still, there was a lingering wish that started blooming:

'For brother to say that she is the most beautiful... I actually want to see that woman now.'
