Nana was hugging Natsuki hard, ever since they left the castle a while ago and went to where Eureka and Kaoru had lived at the edge of the kingdom, she had been stopping herself from crying.
Now that they have settled down, she hugged Natsuki and started crying. Natsuki could only hug her back as he looked at the others helplessly.
There's no way they could comfort this twins after all. They could only be there as they cry it all out. But even them were crying, the guys obviously are doing their best to not cry, they could either hold their girl's hand or put their arms around their shoulder.
The girls obviously weren't holding back. They started crying as soon as Nana started doing so.
Eureka was very much important to all of them, her disappearance left a big hole in their hearts.
Karen was the only girl who wasn't crying, she had followed Rino who went out to the garden and was looking up at the sky silently.
"Rino," she called out as she tug his hand, Rino looked down at her. His eyes were obviously devastated but he was stopping himself.
Seeing this Karen bit her lip as she pulled his head and placed it on her shoulder. She was a foot shorter than him and so Rino was bowing down when she did this.
He was startled and was about to pull away.
"Cry, even your father was crying right now, I'm very sure of it. No one is stopping you from crying. Don't suppress it and let it go, that's the only way for you to at least lessen the burden in your heart."
Karen hugged his head tighter, not long after she felt him wrapping his arms around her waist and her shoulder becoming damp. His shoulders were shaking, Karen looked up and the tears she had been suppressing started flowing.
(Flashback)
"My brother is somehow the same as me. If something is hurting him he would rather suppress it than cry it out. I can only leave him in your care," one time Eureka said to Karen.
This was during the time when they started preparing for the final wave of war.
"Geez you sound like you are leaving," Karen jokingly said.
"I am just saying this. No one could make him let his emotions out other than the person who captured his heart. That guy might go crazy if no one makes him let go of his emotions."
(End of Flashback)
They only returned inside when the rain started pouring down and yet even this rain made them cry even more.
*****
It was close to midnight when all of them are in the living room, still staying in that house. Somehow they didn't want to leave at all.
Raven was actually in Eureka's room all this time, they decided to leave him alone. he must be in the most torturous state right now.
Their faces showed their griefs. No one was speaking.
"I can clearly say what is going in all your minds. All of you must be crying right now aren't you?"
They suddenly heard Raven's voice from the second floor. And his words confused them, looking up they saw him walking the stairs with a paper in his hands.
"But why are you crying? Have I died? The worst that I could think of is that I must have disappeared if you are reading this letter. Then what are those tears for? I have just disappeared and didn't I promise you that I will be there for you in the future? Currently I must be doing my best to find my way back."
Raven finally arrived in front of all of them. His eyes never left the letter he was holding.
"You still have a lot of things to do, the kingdom must be in chaos so go and help out in calming everything down. If you are reading this letter then you must be in my house right now. Geez the war just ended and you are dilly dallying."
Everyone was silently listening, she sounded like she had foresee what will be happening in them and is currently berating them. That's so just like her.
"Calm down, take a deep breath. Wipe those tears and clean yourself up. Take a long rest and starting tomorrow you have another duty to attend to. Help my family out will you? The sudden turns would be difficult for them by themselves."
Their tears have stopped somehow, her words were always the same harsh but kind.
"My sister is childish, if she was crying for more than two hours don't comfort her Natsuki instead berate her. Just how old are you now Nana? I haven't died yet and you are already crying your eyes out?"
"My brother on the other hand rarely cries and he must have suppressed his emotions, but oh well I know that Karen already made him cry. That's a thumbs up to you."
"If Azusa is still with you then please can you pull that girl and bring her to her father? He needs his family now, the guilt will eat him up sooner. I am tasking all of you as your captain to stop him from doing anything stupid. All my efforts will be wasted if that happens."
"That should do it I suppose. Well then I hope once I return we would have a much more peaceful time. See you again guys."
After reading the letter, all of them were silent. Their gloomy atmosphere and grieving hearts have somehow lightened up much more than a while ago.
"Did you know about that letter?" Rino finally spoke and asked Raven.
"No, I just had the feeling of going up and checking her room. Somehow my foot brought me there. And there in her table was a letter."
He didn't tell them that there were actually two letters. One was precisely for him alone.
'I never thought I would be writing this letter. I just thought of it, don't deprive yourself with anything. I have no idea when I would be able to return and you must not stop. Go on and keep looking, I know that she would be out there. I may not be that person but surely you'll find her. We both deprived ourselves of the little happiness we could have but I don't regret it. It would be much more painful if we have pursued this feelings and ended up not being together. There are a lot of ladies out there you can freely choose and surely they would throw themselves to you.'
Actually after reading this he was about to just keep it when a footnote caught his eyes.
'But, it's just an if. If…. Anyway I shall return.'
Somehow he had the feeling that he knew what she was about to say. Even though she didn't finish it, even though she didn't continue her if, he knew. He knew what she wants to say.
was his thought before going down the stairs and reading the other letter to those who were crying down below.
Despite the letter telling all of them to go and have a rest, to clean themselves up, no one left the house. Just for tonight. Just for tonight they wanted to stay away from the world. To just stay by themselves without thinking of their duties or what they should do after the war. They just wanted to reminisce, reminisce all the time that they had spent together.
The times where Eureka had trained them, when she fought against them. The time they first met each other, her actions that always differ from her words. Her subtle smiles and her sudden change in att.i.tude.
The first time they saw her be fl.u.s.tered back in the north tower, the first time she had her breakdown and the very next day became a stranger to them once again.
The first time they saw her covered in blood, her weak breathing and her paled face, she didn't know just how scared all of them were back then. The girl who was always covered in blood of others was covered by her own blood.
And finally the day she had told everyone of who she truly is. She was very scared of hurting the people around her but her ident.i.ty had actually brought happiness to each and everyone of them. She was always regarded so highly and yet she was actually a royal.
Her fears were for nothing, for they have accepted her so easily and her family may have had it difficult but still did their best to be close with her.
She had changed so much from the very first day and they were the lucky ones to witness that.
They all have one same thought before they ended the night, 'We'll wait for you, no matter how long. Come back to us.'
